Amazingly irrelevant. The next time you see an actual owner of one of these vehicles fording a river, plowing through a sand dune, or climbing over the rocks at Moab in his or her X5M, snap a picture, because it will be the first and only such photograph in existence. Testing the off road bona fides of a $130,000 vehicle makes about as much sense as testing the effectiveness of birth control devices in a nursing home.
Out of the two, I'd go for the X6M. However, I'd really save some money and go for the X6M50i. OK! It's performance is not quite up with the X6M, but it's more comfortable and has one BIG added bonus. The X6M50i has the rear wheel steering that the massive wheels of the X6M cannot handle. Oh! Next time you close the rear end of the X5, just press the "close" button on the top tailgate. Then the whole of the tailgate, even the bottom section, closes electronically.
Every time I see an X5M I know I made the right choice. I love Big Body Brenda. This is my fav vehicle ever!! I the soft close doors when my little ones are sleeping is amazing. The privacy shades. My wife sits in the back all the time. Best vehicle for me.
Thank you for coming to beautiful Arizona, I am hope you enjoyed the landscape. And just like everybody else mentioned that was no River Crossing that was a creek but I understand it wasn't up to TFL that was BMW who set that up.
I just want everyone to really test and experience what xdrive stands for. My x1 traction control is ridiculously good, have seen so many big off road cars with wheel spin but not mine.
By prepare the roads they mean smooth the road an create a little stream with a flat bed of Pebblesthat they can actually cross if anyone thinks this thing can actually even kinda did more than that ur being fooled
@5:49 I guess people don’t realize that you don’t have to push the button on the bottom tailgate to close it. Just simply press the button on the top tailgate, and it closes both of them at once.
These junkets are always the same and boring. Pay to put reviewers up in nice places, hire a bunch of experts to drive around and guide you through 5 inches of water in your 6 figure vehicle, rinse and repeat so soccer moms can say their SUVs are real off-roaders. You guys need to do better and demand better.
The X6M front end looks way better but I just wish BMW would make an actual off-road version of these vehicles. I'd rather have a lifted SUV V6 with 300 hp, 20mpg city than a 600hp SUV that gets 13mpg, not to mention we all know the V8 version of BMW is very unreliable.
although this wasn t a proper offroad test (would also need proper tyres for that), the reality is that it was BMW to create all the technology for non ther than landrover for offroad, when it belonged to BMW
Omegas Archangel nice, I’ve done the bmw experience with the x5 in Spartanburg and those vehicles are very capable. They get water coming up to the doors and other extreme maneuvers.
Poor Andre, getting hauled off by the sheriff because you got the launch wrong - or did you eat the sheriff's lunch?😊 I find the X6 more appealing than the X5 or the rest of the competition.
The X5 with off-road pack is capable than ever, but this? X5M is lower by a lot and is harsher, and the tires are so thin and no traction from those tires
