Head Track Setup on RC8X & DJI FPV Goggles.
We need to buy a head track module online. The module outputs in channel 6, channel 7 and channel 8 by default.
We show the head track function with the 2 axis gimbal, with one servo connected to channel 6, and other to channel 7. (Note: RC8X supports 3 axis gimbal. When using a 3 axis gimbal, connect it to channel 6, 7, and 8; when using a 2 axis gimbal, connect it to any 2 channels of channel 6, 7, and 8.)
Set in RC8X. Enter System menu-- External input output-- The goggles output PPM signal to the transmitter, so please set the protocol output mode to PPM_IN.
There are two cables in the head track module. One is for power supply, the other is for PPM signal. Connect the cable to DSC port of RC8X. Power on the head track module. And then power on the receiver.
Move the dji goggles, there is servo display in the transmitter.
If you mount a camera on the gimbal, then you can go out to enjoy the first-person view.

I'm using a head tracking solution from DYI head tracking on RCgroup by Denis Frie with RadioLink RC6GS V3 and R7FG. The head tracking is basically working, i.e. the gimbal follows the head tracking module movement. However, from time to time, the gimbal servo (mostly pan servo) would twitch, even when the head tracking module is not moving. The twitch is random. But when I bind the R7FG to Radiomaster tx16, the head tracking works perfectly. I guess there must be some compatibility issue with RC6GS V3. Would you please dig into it? Thanks.

@@Radiolink_official i put a new servo in my rc car. and when the car is sitting still u can hear the servo twitching. is that something from the receiver? Or should i change the servo?

Will the RC8X and the RC6GS V3 Radios both work with the Traxxas XMax RC Car?

Hello, sir. Generally, RC8X and RC6GS V3 can work with all modesl. You just need to install RadioLink receivers on your car, and bind the receiver with RadioLink transmitters. Then you can use them. All trims turn on consistently when a PPM signal is input. In this video, all the trim moves when the head tracker is connected. Is there a solution?

Hi, sir. 1. Generally, you need to set "NULL" in "Channel setting" for the head track channels. For example, if the head track device is connected to channel 5, channel 6, and channel 7, you can set "NULL" for channel 5, channel 6, and channel 7 2. Because of the compatibility of different head track devices, there may be trim value added for each channel after successful connection of the goggles. 3.Please adjust the PPM value in "External input output" to meet the requirements of compatibility. Please adjust the median value first to make the trim near 0. Then please adjust the minimum to make the largest travel near -100%. And finally adjust the maximum to make the largest travel near +100%. If the largest travel of this channel exceed +100%, you can set the MAX value in Channel limiter to 100%. For the slight trim moves, it is normal and it won't affect the movement of the servo. If any question about RadioLink products please feel free to contact us. How do i stop it from changing all the values on every channel when pluggin and powering on the head tracking unit? I.e Channel 1-8 add +12 which makes the truck start moving forward. When i set the trim when head tracking plugged in its fine but when i power off the headtracker the channels move back 12 steps and causes the truck to start moving backwards. The values shouldn't change between when head tracking is plugged in and then out, the only channels it should be altering is 7 and 8 which i have set it to do.

There is some value of the trim because the center of each device may be different, so please adjust the PPM value in the menu of External input output to meet the requirements of compatibility. Please adjust the median value first to make the trim near 0. Then please adjust the minimum to make the largest travel near -100%. The remote seems to not recive any signals from the head tracker or just dosent output any, i have ch7 and 8 set null, thouse are the channels i have thr tracker setup for, everything seems fine, but no signals are being shown, nor output

We had one customer who used Fatshark with RC8X successfully sent us the feedback. 1.You need to enter channel setting, and set the channel the channels used for head tracking to NULL. 2.You may need a cable with correct connector to connect RC8X and the goggles.
