The reason why I like being around Sawmills is because I love the smell of fresh-cut Lumber and I also love the way it looks when it's freshly cut I'm in Indiana we got a lot of beautiful hardwood over here we don't have much yellow pine we had what we call Indiana white pine it would take several years for it to dry out in order to be able to do something with it it's real sappy unless you know a trick if you do let me know I'm going to use one of them Alaskan chainsaws and tried to make me some Lumber God bless you sir and try to have a glorious Sunday

Howdy Eugene- I’m with you on the good smell around fresh cut lumber has. Most of what is cut around here is yellow pine. An Alaskan is great to have but slow go when milling. I’ve used mine a lot over the years and would never get rid of it. Take care and God bless y’all

I used large rock and logs to make the foundation for my garage. I had to terrace the land as I'm on a hillside and I used logs for the retaining wall on the high side, then stacked logs on the other side to bring the base/foundation up to level for the building to set. Worked perfectly. I definitely take all the information you give us to help with my projects

The guys up in Canada they are leaving the round side on the outside the rest of it is flat and they are notching the logs like Lego logs that looks pretty good I understand how they can judge how much is going to be staking on the outside that round on the outside of the wall on the ends to where it looks like the log is completely round which it actually is I've learned a lot here last year on some of this stuff that I had no idea

There's only one other man that I know that can do what you do and he is gone now but he done it out of Poplar the way I got to know him I had a tractor that had Forks and it could raise pretty high I know the reason why it's taking you so long to do a video is because you have to wait for the plumber to be saw I worked in a sawmill for several years 25 to be exact I put in over 20 years and a circle sawmill and little over seven years and a bandsaw mill the bandsaw mill is nice all you have to do is light sand your Lumber and you're ready to go circle saw you had to run it through a planer that you're doing one hell of a bang-up job I like watching you do it it reminds me when I was younger and helping that other oh boy setting his up he made some really good money doing it but he's gone now God Rest his soul God willing you be doing this for a lot longer time God bless you and a terrific work do you do

Howdy- I built the hoist but it isn’t my idea that I came up with. I copied it from my friends hoist but made a few changes. It sure makes lifting logs easy. God bless

I've been watching these guys up in Canada that has been taking an axe and carving out their nachos and believe it or not they're getting it pretty close and they're putting moss on the outside and mud on the inside I don't mean concrete I mean actual mud they're taking one of these Alaskan sawmills that you use a chainsaw on and cut their Lumber out of Pine but the time has been down for at least a year or more it's taking this one guy almost five years to get everything gathered up to build hits and it looks really nice just thought I'd give you that little bit of information

Howdy Oliver- thank you so much for watching the video. I use a mix of 3 parts clean sand, 1/2 part Portland cement, 1/2 part masonry cement. I use a cement mortar dye for the color, which you would have to determine what color you would want. Hope this helps. I have a video that explains this. You can go back and watch it. These videos are just way to short. 18 minutes was more like 18 seconds. I and maybe others, would like to see tuning the corner. I watched one of your other videos where you used the small folding saw to bring the timber into control, I can't find that video again. Maybe, if you would not mind you could show and explain why it is required, how to do it and even show corners that do not need it and why as a comparison. Thanks for posting, be well, stay well.
