It’s grate that you tested the headless version of Open Pilot, and I appreciate how the sidecar approach simplifies Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). It's convenient to fix or swap out side cars hardware. It’s true open source hardware, which can be tricky if your Open Pilot device is out of warranty. Since it's headless, it won't divert your attention while driving. One more good thing is side car will also not block drivers vision it will fit in the top. I understand that software development requires a lot of work, but I'm okay with paying for an operating system like we do for Windows or for upgrades. I will be happy if open pilot takes that route.
ill wait for commas future plan on this since Epilogue can be a legit competitor. a display less c3 can be start just to match epilogue price but they have to figure out how to setup it without using a screen . yikes its 649 drivesidecar.com/product/sidecar?image=0
the point of the demo is headless op where you cant see the device. its just a demo just to get a feel of it. I have a new setup coming :)) stay tuned. btw you cant turn off the screen on stock.
oh its way better than Honda Sensing LKAS ( I use the stock ACC) see if your vehicles is compatible comma.ai/vehicles and give Openpilot a try 30 day money back no question ask and so easy to setup up. Dont forget to join the community at discord.comma.ai for further info.
