Great explanations of the headlight options thanks. Another two years before my warranty runs out so will have to wait until then before ordering a pair from you.
Good informative video! I got my lights from you (font & rear) for my t5.1 camper last year! I drove down to see you & pick them up along with the scally lock! I love them they are really good in the dark unlit roads give a good spread of light! Oh yes! & they look amazing gives me the smile factor 🙂👍👍
I bought the v3 for my t6 mine have the clear diffuser I wish I bought the one with the white diffuser imo the full white bar looks better than seen the individual dots
transporter hq great blog and really useful but i have the V2 for a 2007 T5 pre facelift, is it possible for dipped beams to stay on when full beam is used? You’ve mentioned all but this version i think. Thanks in advance.
Hi mate. This is possible. Google about T5 caravelle headlamp conversion. There are two wires you need to join together on the steering column, there's plenty of how-to videos and forum posts 👍🏼
@@302V8GD We have some on the next shipment. If you email Kieran@transporterhq.co.uk the lights you want and a mobile number, he'll add you to the waiting list.
Love the video. Your head light bulbs sound great but can you tell me can you fit the dust cover back over the bulbs as I have some off eBay and they are rubbish lol as can’t put the dust cover back on . I’d love some of yours can you send me a link to where I can buy yours thanks
Yes you can no problem. We've managed to get the Canbus resistors small enough to fit inside the dust covers. If you want to be added to the waiting list, please email chris@transporterhq.co.uk
Do you have a price for the t6 v3 I actually like the dots on the light bar! Is it possible for a set like you show in the video...... keep pushing the aftermarket ideas
£475 for V3's. This is the only set that will be like this. You could buy this set though and we'll swap these for a white filter version. I'd do you a deal on them. email chris@transporterhq.co.uk if you want them reserving.
Great video could you tell me why my drl s stop on for 5 minutes when I lock the van up I have a T5.1 headlights,,also where can I buy your led headlight bulbs thanks
Thanks for the video, I would like some LED headlight bulbs for my 2012 T5.1 which I thought were H4, on your website they are H7 or H1, could you advise which bulbs I need to order please? Thank you.
Could you advice if you can supply me a replacement bulb for my T5.1 Sportline 180 biturbo WP62BNB it's got Philips in at the moment 35w I will try to attach a photo
Ive an electrical issue with a 1999 VW T4, I have been to two auto electricians with what they thought was a indicator/full beam stalk issue as the full beam light on the dash stays on and will not disengage. The stalks have been changed three times now and still this issue is happening, I am at a total loss and trying my third auto electrician to try to sort it once and for all. Have checked the fuses and all are good????
Thank you very much for the great video. I missed one topic: does your lights fit with left hand drive and are they completely road legal in the rest of Europe? Thanks! Big fan of your insta!
Why are washers needed in the bumper by law to fit aftermarket LEDs? Also will your LEDs work in other brands like a Vivaro? Sorry to lower the tone lol
Its seems I'm wrong about the washers jets, its auto levelling they need. We don't know about other vehicles, we've only tested them on T5.1, T6 and T6.1
I bought a t6.1 without LED head lights. Terrible mistake! Can i instal the original LED head lights when the van arrives, about 2 weeks from now? I found a pair of original LED head lights for sale in germany, should i buy it? thank you for your help !
how's your car now, did you upgrade the lights? How do you find H7's in the T6.1, are they really that bad? Most bad feedback is for T6 H4 headlights I think
just found this video and am interested in the LED bulb for the standard T6.1 dipped beam, but can't find them on your website. Could you send me a link please. Thanks
@@THQAutomotive great thanks, the message I got from your website says these aren't suitable for standard T6.1 headlights, just the Transporter HQ ones?
@@richardhopp3130 they did work, i promise. I had them in my standard T6.1 lights before I upgraded the headlights to our after market lights. They don't give as good spread as standard lights don't use a projector.
Purchased a set of headlights that look identical to the v3 for my T5.1 via an alternative supplier (big mistake) first set suffered heavy internal condensation slightly reduced if you removed covers from rear light units,,, second replacement set arrived refitted but the condensation was even heavier... Will your v3 units suffer the same problem as I really want to send both these units back and purchase a set that doesn’t have this problematic issue!!! Cheers
You will see our V3 are different to the ones you have now. The orange indicator goes right to the inner corner of the headlight on ours, thats the easiest way to tell them apart. As for condensation, it does happen with all lights. If you look at the genuine standard headlight in the video they are doing it. I have to say though ours do it a lot less. My genuine T6 LED's (on the yellow van) condensate more than our version does.
@@andystone5487 To the best of my knowledge, thats not checked as part of the MOT. We have lots of people with LED's in both and I've not heard of any issues.
@@THQAutomotive Ok, that's good to know..... I prefer the V2 lights.... Whilst the V3's are very smart, I prefer having the separate indicator lenses. It's a 5.1 Shuttle, I'd also like the rears done too. I'll have to get saving! 👍
You mentioned that some T6’s that come with the lights and vision pack have a different headlight. How can I tell if i have this (I have the light and vision pack allegedly). Assuming i do have this version, does it make any difference if i were to upgrade to your LED v2 or V3?
The easiest way to check is see if your dip beam stays on with your main beam. Yes it would still be an improvement to charge to our lights because of the projector spread of light.
Hi I’ve noticed these v2 headlights for the T5 very nice BUT what are they like to drive with in the dark ,I ask this because I’ve bought the twin lights with the projector main beam with the led indicators & side light they’ve been no problems ONLY they are dangerous for driving at night with those useless H1 bulbs yes I’ve got the brightest bulbs I can put a 100w H1 but they are still shite can you assure me yours are different or are they all show for others to view ,I bought my headlights from van style @ 7 years ago I did ask about the useless night driving experience NO REPLY , so before or if I’m to part with £450 + do yours work in the dark & no bullshit ? Cheers Peter
@@petersloan5779 So our lights for this year use H1 of dip and main beam. Yes they are considerable brighter than the standard VW lights. Ask on the pre-facelift Facebook pages, you'll get honest opinions there.
@@THQAutomotive I know what bulbs you are using what I’m asking are they dangerous to drive in the dark on main beam which is the projector you have the added led light to help out does that make a difference,it’s a question that’s never been addressed by van style & everyone else who sells the headlight I have & are still selling them ,I’ve asked about different bulbs & there is one firm who was honest said a led or a hid would not make much difference,so you know my question I’d like vanity with performance pardon the pun ?🤔
@@petersloan5779 On this light we only used a projector lens on the dip beam not the main beam. The dip beam does not stay on with main beam though. Our LED's H1 bulbs don't fit in the pre-facing lift lights. The shape of the lights aren't deep enough to allow the fan to fit in. The best way for you to get an honest answer, is ask existing owners. Try asking on this group facebook.com/groups/156828708426639
It's absolutely not true that full LED headlights have a legal requirement to have washers, you're thinking of the old xenon lights, which did. VW, and any other manufacturer will happily sell you a new vehicle with full LED headlights and no washers, though they will equally happily add washers for a price. They do have to have self-levelling though..
We get what you're saying but our unit is too noisy, its there to drown out the compressors, forks lifts, airline tools etc. Honestly, we've tried without and it sounds terrible.
