I was on Headline Chasers. The episode is on my RU-vid channel, along with some other game shows I was on. I liked Headline Chasers because my then-wife and I got on so quickly (from contacting them to taping the show was only a few weeks) plus, even though we didn't win, we got to keep the money we accumulated during the game. For a young couple in the mid 1980s, $2,000 was a nice chunk of cash to go home with. Headline Chasers was the first game show I was on, but there have been four others since, most recently as a Showcase winner on The Price is Right. It was taped on the first day in the show's new studio and aired on 9-26-2023.
In Detroit, it showed it on WDIV 4 at 12:30pm as Toledo aired it on WTOL 11 at 9:30am however both stations in my area aired this show replacing "Every Second Counts" when it got cancelled. Wink was back on WDIV with this game show, therefore Tic Tac Dough was seen on WDIV until 1984.
I never SEEN this show when it was actually on TV, but it LOOKS like FUN. I was a teenager during the 80's. I'm Surprised I MISSED this Gameshow. I LOVE gameshows!!!
Weak format... however excellent to find some interesting facts in history. And who had that AWFUL idea of putting Wink's podium between the contestants? It's a perfect setup for H², but not for this show.
