I also forgot one really important part of why I was nervous.... what you can't see in the video clearly Is I had my knee brace on strapped HELLA tight because my leg was giving way during pre production. even walking to the bus from backstage before going on. so I was reeeaallllly conscious of that happening on stage! thankfully I must have tightened its enough that my knee had no choice in the matter! Surgery in one month so hopefully never again!!!
I’ve been following you and your musical and personal journey for years, and I’m filled with admiration for your talent, your persistence and your authenticity. Congratulations Rabea. I can’t wait for the next chapter.
Really thankful for the love everyone! It was an immense experience I’m truly grateful for! Just to shed a little light on the concept for the intro lead particularly… I was asked to do a ‘when doves cry’ style intro in my own way. Obviously add the riffs etc and then with the lead at the end, reference the top line! Overall I’m chuffed with my performance, I definitely could’ve cleaned it up but being the first gig back after 18 months, with so many new variables, I found it hard to keep the excitement contained! Anyway, not an excuse just a bit of info on how it went down! Thank you for all the support people! Even if this is a one time thing, I’m never gonna forget it! ❤️❤️❤️
honestly well deserved mate, been following you for years and had the pleasure to see you play with dorje in south wales once, and ive always said you deserve to be huge with the way you play and how well you play! congrats man
Yeah, I was just about to comment you could have cleaned it up a bit. I definitely could have done a better job, by bass guitar only has 4 strings, because I'm not overcompensating like you using 6 strings.
Goosebumps mate - nailed it 👏 Crowd was loving it. I’ve watched this about ten times back to back. Just insane….I think it’s safe to say you got away with it 😁
Fuckin Epic Dude!... wow............ Got the shivers up the spine and everywhere watching this dude.. Fuckin Awesome :D🤘🏾✨🎆👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 One time thing... I doubt it bro! Just getting started :)
It's good to see him up front on the stage heading and gettin in to it. I figure a lot of guitar players would sit in the back and not really headbang or move or Groove
There's very few people I look up to, but you're certainly among them. I got goosebumps when I saw the first stories in your IG!! This is so sick & I can't think of anyone who'd deserve this more. PS: I also feel like the visuals of being in the middle of this gigantic stage with all the pyro going on is every guitarists wet dream - and you just went ahead and did it! 🔥🔥
Watching you grow from your little bedroom cramped with amps, through the Andertons days, Toska, the new studio, and finally to here, is one of the most rewarding things I've witnessed on RU-vid. Knew you would end up here from the first time I heard you. Well done man! Something tells me this is just the beginning...
Michael Jackson’s hired guns, Eddie Van Helen, Steve lukether, Jennifer Batten, Slash. Rihanna and Janet Jackson s hired guns ,Nuno Bettencourt. These pops stars ( I include stormy in this even as a great Rap artist) all need a big Riff to liven up their shows. Yet Stormzy picks that guy we’ve watched grow from being the Anderson’s kid on RU-vid. You have personally changed the way the industry works, and kids get into guitar so Well done in becoming a hero for the new generation. Even us old gits are blown away by Bea’ sounds. Thank you for keeping the riff alive and all the work you do for our instrument.
This even feels weird to write, seeing as I don’t actually know you, but damn dude - I felt so proud! I was a mass of goosebumps watching this and felt like shedding a tear for you, what an incredible experience and so well deserved.
I'm so happy you got to experience such a killer show and performance because you truly deserve it. You were basically living every guitarist dream: play a chord and the flames come out. Not only your playing was absolutely flawless, but you also managed to have a great time and enjoy the gig which is the most important thing! Hopefully this huge show is going to be the first of many because that's exactly where you belong. Keep on rocking Bea⚡️
Wow, Rabea you absolutely killed it. A once in a lifetime event (maybe?) to shred it infront of 90,000 screaming fans with a huge fireshow erupting either side of you like something out of a Michael Bay movie. Doesn't get much better than that man. Congrats! P.S: You gotta put that photo of you above your fireplace or something haha
I had a weird moment where I was determined to tell anyone that would listen how this guitarist (that I don’t actually know personally) is on with the headliner at Reading & Leeds and how no one deserves it more. By looking at this comment section I was clearly not alone in my fanboy-ing. You are 100% my biggest guitar inspiration in recent years and it’s awesome that some notoriety is deservedly coming your way. Best wishes, Bea.
I screamed when I was watching Stormzy, saw the fro and the Chapman then instantly recognised it as you. Well done man! You killed it with the fat riffs. Couldn't think of a more deserving guitarist to get that gig after watching you grow for ten years. Great job as usual dude! 😃🤘🏻✌🏻
dude that's insane. Watching you jamming around like a fucking rockstar when 9-10 years ago you were a waiter at a Guildford bar really gives me hope that one day I'll be there as a professional guitar player as well. Thanks for inspiring me and lots of love from France
as a subscriber since the beginning, after you inspired me to lose 50 kg and seeing all your growth as a You tuber and artist. This just was a fantastic performance and well deserved reward for all your efforts. Wishing you more and more gigs like this! Thank you Rabea!
I concur with everybody else in the comments, couldn't have happened to a more deserving artist and you absolutely smashed it. A very proud moment for every subscriber of your channel
I’m just an every day bloke who loves playing the guitar and has watched your vids on Andertons tv and you tube over the years .... all I can say is a massive congrats , you sounded a looked superb , massive respect 👍🏼
Everyone's said already how he's deserved this and that's all 100% bang on at a personal and proffessional level for Rabea but on a bigger scale its also so great to see ripping guitar solos on a such a mainstream act.
Imagine going from reviewing guitars for Andertons to THIS. What a legend. Can't think of anyone who deserves this more. A credit to your hard work and dedication.
Got to tell you Rabea, I don't really listen to heavy music and definitely not into Stormy - but man alive that was a gutsy performance on your part - your time away from the stage, your knee, relying on modelling and midi changes, hitting stage marks in the dark, not to mention potentially millions watching. If you can pull that out of the bag, you can do anything - incredible!
This is my favorite shit in the world right now! Good fuckin job! Say yes to the next one too! This genuinely got me snapped out of a rut. Bye bye to my 1 year beard and im actually listening to this video while resting between sets RN. Idk why this hit me so hard but THANK you for doing the stormzy gig! Turned my 1 month funk upsidedown!
That's awesome. The power of word of mouth in a music career, but this can't happen without all the hard work that came prior. That was incredible to watch, super happy for you man!
Man I am still so pumped that this happened Bea! Been following you since like 2012 and see you get to this point is fucking awesome, you really deserve it!
This is so next level cool! Rabea you've nailed it. A gentle reminder to all of those who say the guitar is death. What Nuno did to the Rihanna shows, you did for STORMZY. Man what a show. And who's that drummer, he also knows how to kick-ass.
Rabea, this is so deserved; I genuinely felt emotional seeing you expressing your talent,, being appreciated by another high-profile artist, and crossing genres of music. Huge congrat's!
I am only seeing this now. I must say I've been following your stuff for years. I am so happy for you! You killed it on stage and I think that's where you belong! Couldn't help but grin all the time!
So there I was watching BBC1 on Saturday night. Stormzy at Reading was up next. I’m not into his music but I’ll give it a watch as I love live music. The 90,000 strong crowd are chanting for Stormzy. The stage is dark with sirens and strobe lights akin to Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Ok this looks interesting. Through the smoke, the spotlights reveal a guitarist with his back lit afro. He looks like Rabea, the guy who I’ve been following for years on RU-vid. I got goosebumps as the heavy chords and screaming guitar confirmed that, oh my god, it ‘IS’ Rabea!!! No way! No fuckin’ way! I said in disbelief. He’s centre stage, framed by 100ft high pyrotechnics from hell, more intense than any Metallica gig. Rabea gave it his all and for the 3 songs he played on, he was the rock star he was always destined to be. 🤘😀🤘
Quite rightly we only see the RU-vid Rabea, master of his craft and enjoying life, skateboarding and poorly knees. I must confess I did wonder how things would pan out with regards to your major band related projects coming to a close. Especially since I believe you are the one RU-vid guitar person who I think actually has what it takes musically speaking. Seems just being a proper musician just isn’t enough to get you through these days. This however is different league stuff, hopefully it will lead to more and more well deserved success and give you a little more security to pursue your dreams. Kudos my friend.
I've lost track of how many times I have watched this. This is HUGE! This is EPIC! This is EPICALLY HUGE! What a life experience! I think this has got to be every metal guitarist's dream to be centre stage with all that pyro action going on. Brilliant. Just brilliant.
Man, that was epic. When I saw your story with Stormzy on IG, I couldn't figure out what's going on. Then i realized it's you, playing the guitar. CONGRATS!
So proud of you Rabea. All these years following you, step by step, everything you've accomplished, you deserve so much what's going on here. Bravo ! Greetings from french Alps !
I absolutely love to see you living your dreams man. So happy for you … and you completely, and totally nailed it! Congrats and thanks for sharing this with us all.
Holy crap! Very happy for you. How you handled the pressure and your energy on stage will not have gone unnoticed. You'll be on the MD secret society's 'dependables' list now. This is going to take your career to the next level. Fantastic. Well deserved.
Bea, Bea, Bea you sly ol fox you!! Practically fell off my chair when I realised it was you hoofing that intro. I've felt for years that you deserved a shot at something big like this and you absolutely nailed it. I hope this leads to more opportunitiies for you as your talent deserves to be heard by a wider audience.
Those D'adarrio headstock tuners are awesome...and discreet, so you don't have a big ass tuner hanging of your headstock. Great show, Bea! Made the hair on my arms stand up watching the video. Amazing journey from when I first saw you demoing a Epiphone Les Paul custom on the Andertons channel five years ago, discovering you in Dorje and Toska through that and now this. Wonderful success and it looks like it is just starting. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. All the best, bro!
I have a few palls on this gig and when I saw this I lost my shit!!! fair play to you man! You smashed it big time! and so many people were chatting about how mad the intro was. Big up Kojo and the whole team, what a vision
Considering many people in that crowd and used to hearing live guitars, I can’t think of anyone else I’d rather have in this context representing the instrument than you. I’m sure you inspired a lot of kids to pick up a guitar from that performance! 👍😎🎸
@@Lakenbeer I'm not a huge rap fan, but I have to admit that the art of writing raps that flow well, as well as the accompanying music and beats actually takes quite a bit of skill and talent. Every kid and their little brother can (and does) do this in their bedroom, and performs their rhymes to their mates in the park... Just like how I and (I assume) you mess about with our guitars and pedals in our bedrooms before playing for our friends at the local pub. However, to break out into the commercial world requires one to stand out from all these other bedroom rappers and fret-wankers - and this requires talent, skill, and luck. If you abstract playing guitar down to the same level as "nursery rhymes", one may just say the average guitarist is a talentless hack who's bashing away on 6 strings.
I used to watch chapman guitar vids 2-3 years ago, now I’m all grown up. When I turned up to this with my mates I honestly thought I’d turned up to the wrong show, expecting something generic and rappy, but then all of a sudden I saw a man from deep in my memories fucking shredding it on stage. Well done bro
absolutely amazing how a seemingly normal dude can get up on a stage and play in front of THAT many people. Hats off to you man, living the dream, you kick ass!
Thanks Rabea!! A few years ago i started to watch your andertons videos. 3 months ago i bought myself a Tele and I'm having guitar lessons after 20 years of not playing!! Thanks for the inspiration 🙏
You’ll have offers for life now, get ready :) I had tears watching you on stage. I’ve watched your vids, music shop stuff, collabs, and you’ve always been the “mega helpful guitarist mate”, so it genuinely feels like seeing a musician friend on stage. Massive congratulations man. Those fireworks!!!!
Me and my mates really don't listen to rock/guitar heavy songs but all of us were so hyped during this intro, got one of my mates saying he wants to go to a rock concert and had all of us jumping at the start of the show!!
Dude, Rabea. I've been following since the early days of Andertons. Seeing that signature flat-five pentatonic run - that we've watched you play with for years now - on THAT stage was amazing. Got a little misty for. Cheers from Atlanta! Continued success my man 🥃
"Rabea on the electric guitar!" Damn.. This gives me goosebumps. This is a dream come true in many ways. Thanks for all you have done Rabea, I've completely milked musicisum and become a better and more confident musician by it back when it came out. Keep it up!
Chuffed for you mate. Like many here, been following you since you came up on the Andertons scene. These things don't happen by accident, young man. Keep up the insane playing!!
