Rabea used to seem intimidated when he first started doing Anderton's videos some years ago (but still rocked it), and now he's so comfortable and you can see how much the Captain respects and admires Rabea and his playing. It's lovely to see.
Meanwhile every time I see Rob he seems a little more broken than before. Not a dig or an insult, I’m actually worried about him. Just looks sick to me.
I don't know Rabea. But I do know I absolutely love his music, his playing, his tones and his overall attitude. And even though I don't know him personally, I feel so frickin' proud and happy for the guy, especially thinking back to the shy, nervous, slightly introverted and perhaps lacking-in-confidence youngster he was only a few years ago when he was basically a background character for Anderton's. There are really only a few modern musicians/youtube personalities who completely deserve all of the great things in life that can happen. Without question, Rabea is one of those people. Ya done good my friend! MORE POWER TO YOU! Long live 'Fro Rock and Roll!
It's cool to see mates get together again. And the fact that Bea just also happens to be a shred monster is an added bonus. Wonderful job, guys. Cheers from across the pond.
Love talks like this, discussing gear and techniques with a working musician. It helps that we know Rabea so well and that he's a star player and a great guy too!
Ahh man could have watched another hour of this! I’m so so happy that Rabea has the amazing opportunities he deserves but man am I sad about losing him from the channel 😢
Rabea is one of my favorite guitarists the last decade. Dude has riffs for days and branches so many genres with his playing. Love seeing his boards and rigs
Whoa...I remember when Bea was doing a demo under an aquarium light , sweating and crushing riffs. And to see him now makes me smile. The evolution... priceless 🖖🏿😎. Another reason why I love this channel.Well done!.. Dudes! Getcha Pull 🥃-CHEERS 🍻
this rig is sick! and seriously, no one in the audience of a concert can notice the difference between valve amps and modelers. these modelers sound perfect.
Great to see Rabea on the channel again! Love The Captain & Danish Pete, but as a METAL guy, I've seriously missed Rabea & Rob on the show! Kinda difficult for me to judge how a piece of gear will work for ME without hearing someone play some METAL through it! 🤘
I feel that Variax technology even from yeaaars ago is still so amazing and still sound really good today! The only thing stopping me from getting one is because the parts for repair when needed are not widely available. I hope Line 6 push them more in the market so it's more commonly used. I also feel that with the tech will be more accepted today compared to 10 or 15 years ago when whatever analog seems to be better than anything digital in guitar world
Man, this was awesome! Thanks guys for giving an old dog some new tricks to play with….. definitely have some new ideas after watching this and fully intend to go back and take another look at some of the new digital sounds available out there, as I am honestly blown away by how much everything has advanced in the last few years!
I like that Lee mentioned this. I think the main thing that stops people, especially the more traditional player, from using a rig like the qc or other modlers is how reliable people think it is. Especially if its being automated. As lee said whats saying a valve amp won’t blow a tube or a pedal or two won’t go down during a gig. Technology has advanced so much that digital is as reliable if not more reliable than analog
Ooooohhh noooooooo ... Don't stop now .. 😭 you were bringing tears to my eyes and it ended.... 💕💕🌻very interesting though.... You is the bees knees Bea ... Bea's knees 🔥
Was at Clarence festival earlier this year helping with the running but I was still there for the music and it was just as you guys were saying, loads of awesome local or just small artists and then a covers band last followed by a special thanks but the covers band really went well with the sunset and the general mood
Leo's best cover of all time (in my opinion) is the one he did with Rabea and Hannah of Toto's Africa. Amazing. And the outro solo was really, really good.
@@justnik8727 Just look up Frogleap Africa here on RU-vid. It'll be the top result. Also, keep watching to the very end of the video. The music doesn't end when you think it does.
I saw FrogLeap in september '22 and they had such a good vibe going on. Especially the dancing/rocking bunny cheered everyone up. Was surprised though, that Bea didn't use a Chapman. One Music Man guitar for the whole set...
The Neural DSP stuff for live is really exciting. I think I'd be at the level where it would be easier to just bring a good old fashioned amp to a gig, but if I ever got to do something bigger, I'd absolutely look at the Neural DSP stuff.
I see Rabea on a vid, I press play! Love it! I'm gonna sound old and out of date here but one of the things I love about guitar is how simple the set up can be. This stuff blows my mind. Maybe that's because I don't have the time or moolah to invest in it. Someone like Bea, who is an insane player, with a great guitar and a great amp is captivating to see and hear. Does it need all the gubbins? I don't know. Like I say... Old man here! 🤣. When I watch TPS I get totally lost in the intricate details of tone. Maybe tone chasing is in my future somewhere? I've got to get much better at playing first for that to happen though! 😝 Great vid chaps.
Don't get me wrong, I love to see all this new technology but there is nothing better than seeing a wall of 100w Marshalls on standby before and roaring during a gig.
I used my Iridium direct into the PA on Saturday for a pub gig. Worked great. Very full sound. Yes, feels different, maybe not so much in terms of rich harmonics, but worked really, surprisingly, well.
The best way to describe the Microcosm is that it is very complex "shimmer" effect that can be adjusted from a predictable drone to wild and unpredictable layers of randomness.
The beer thing. I know this isn't for everyone, but I gig with a spare Helix or a Stomp ready offstage. I can get a pre-owned LT around $800 now. Two Helixes can be gotten for less than a nice pedalboard and a half stack. FWIW, I've never had a Helix malfunction onstage in four years.
Honestly the best sounding pitch shift I’ve used was the simple pitch in the helix that he could have used but he’s a Neural guy now. I sat and A/B’d between the QC, whammy dt, and the Kemper when I still had all of them.
I’ve lost count off the years but i remember seeing Bea ripping on this channel with that irritating “greetings guy” and thinking how awsome his style was, I could clearly hear the bands/guitarists that he noted as his peers in every note and over time he’s developed it into his own unique style which i personally adore ,the funk, the groove , the ambient chordal pieces, he’s got it all for my tastes ,plus he’s a Yorkshire lad 🤘🤘 keep on doing what your doing Bea dude , your outstanding and an inspiration to others following your path in life as a musician that is actually doing what they love and are passionate about ,but also being able to make a living from it. You are a great example to the young and older generation, kudos dude KUDOS
Glad to see pitch shifting is getting better and better. I used only have a guitar which had locking nuts so I could never play in different tunings. My only option was to pitch shift the song (which Guitar Pro has an easy knob to do) or pitch shift the guitar which would always sound wonky.
Rabea during that Stormzy set was as memorable as Slash in front of that church. I would love to see Andertons try line 6 wireless into the QC out into waza air headphones (makeshift in ears) and out to seymour duncan powerstage 700 into a 4x12. With a laptop playing backing tracks and recording the QC. The Captain had the best idea with the waza headphones at the end of the pedal board. Why not the same thing with QC? Rabea is also right on with the multiple eq in the QC. Unlocks some great possibilities. Finally, I would like to see a mimiq pedal style option in the Q.C. some slightly modulating delays could really thicken up some tones.
Hands down, the QC does the best pitch shift for drop tuning. The Fractal products sound the most natural, but that virtual capo isn't as good as the QC version. I play live with the FM9 based 100% on sound a feel, but the QC almost had me with ease, size and the drop tuner. Our bass player uses it now, and it sounds killer for bass.
im not normally a strat player however id play that strat i would probably put a stacked coil humbucker in the neck but it sounds great and seems comfortable to play
