awesome demo. thanks so much. That machine is amazing. I have one and didn't even realize it would do so much. I am having fun exploring and you really helped point me in the right direction. There were definitely some geiniuses at work for headrush. They tried to cover everything. And they put some things in that no one else has. I compliment them.

I hear some people comparing his unit to a Line 6 Helix, well for what it does it is in the line of the Helix. Personally, I like this unit much more for the ease of use. Sometimes we get inundated with so much stuff packed into one unit we forget what we bought it for,and the learning curve begins to be an obstacle. This unit is as close as you can get to 'plug and play'. I want to just plug in,build me some patches and play! The sounds on this unit are really good and maybe even great. Programming appears to be quite simple also. This unit and the Helix LT are both the same price,for my money its the Headrush all the way.

I'm 55, jumped right into it (I did watch some RU-vid videos prior to ordering). Easy to use, program, make set lists, etc. I love this unit.

Helix is more expensive But yeah i would choose this because of how easy to make patches and that is the selling point for me, anything complicated i will just move on, plus i can focus on my playing rather than tweaking the whole day for tones

@@burnsanchez is it possible to setup setlists for your band. but still change between effects within the same song? for example using a chorus and delay for the verses, and switch to a heavy distortion for the choruses, all without having to switch numerous switches at the same time?

I have the Helix, but haven't had a chance to play with snapshots, but now I'm curious whether it will spill over (decay) the sound like the Headrush as you have done at 3:39. I know it can switch without delay, the question is whether the decaying sounds is UNCHANGED after the switch like the Headrush. If I find out it can't do that, I may return my Helix.

I am hoping you can help me. I have a headrush but am not getting a very good sound. I must have something hooked wrong. Don't know if it is IRs, cab sims, amp/direct out or what. I have it running into the front of a combo amp. Any suggestions?

Don't run it in the front Art unless you use a 4 wire setup. You can use an effects loop where the drives and distortions go in the front of your amp and the reverbs etc go into your effects loop leave the cab setting off. you should find an improvement in sound quality.

Can I customize the different individual speakers in a cab? Have half Celestion half Jensen for example?

You can set up multiple amps and cabs in a stereo or mono configuration, and changes the mics in a cab and the mic locations. But I don't think you can select multiple speaker types within a cab...you can use two 2 speaker cabs.There are also celestion (for example) IR patches to give the tone of specific speakers to any patch.

The $899 loop pedal is awesome but how do you use the looper on the pedal board ? Do you record a loop and play leads to it ? Do you want to record a bunch of bass and 6 string acoustic loops and then record a bunch of fun drum tracks and a whole band to play with for the one man stage performer that's the only reason to buy the expansion looper but you could do that with a computer that you may also have already with pedal board looper do think about it.

is it possible to drop D tuning with this pedalboard? like pitch shifter? (ex.EADGBE -> DGCFAD)

Yes, it has a drop pedal that does exactly does, it drops as many semitones as you want (max 6 or 7 i can't remember)

Hello, thanks for the vid. Is it possible to assign the Harmony function to a switch instead of the expression pedal? Also can the switches be set to "momentary" functionality where they only engage during the time they are pressed and held down? Thanks for your insights!

That next good because they actually sounds like the real amps and analog pedals ! It's nailing my analog rig easily and then ten times that so I'm set for any good gig.

I believe the answer is a qualified ‘No’. You can’t add a specific model of a pedal or amp directly. However, there are what appear to be annual updates provided by InMusic which include additional FX and amps (or have, based on what I’ve read). There is also a pretty wide selection of prebuilt patches from either paid services or free from the user community. YMMV

if I was to be gigging with this would I have to put it through a cab or would I put it straight into the mixing desk? completely new to amp modellers, and I'm guessing it's the same for a line 6 helix

Ben Milford this, like most other pedalboards and multi effects, can do either. You'd probably want to bypass cab modeling if you play it through an amp

Hi Ben, Much like the amp modellers, you could run it directly into a cab and/or the front of house at a venue. Both options are open to you. You could even run a stereo sound through the FoH so your sound guy has more control on the overall mix. Hope this helps :)

I run mine straight into the FOH and monitor with in ears. We use a digital mixer and the sound is exactly the same every single night!

Carlos Ortiz you need to go into the input block , it has the gate set up high, you need to turn it way down. For some reason it defaults to the high gate and causes the sound to cut off very quickly. But that will fix the issue. Same thing happened to me

2:50 I have to disagree- they aren’t ‘gapless’ ... there is a brief bit of lag between switching between rigs. I discovered this day number two with mine. My Mesa is instantaneous switching. Certain songs I play live (or really, ANY song you play live) should have an immediate response

+GUITARGUITAR At 24:40 you've cut the part where you are about to play with the Whammy. Is it because it sounds bad? Not Polyphonic I guess? Strangely I cannot find any HeadRush/Whammy demos anywhere

Hi, This was a bit of an abrupt edit cut - apologies. We played with the whammy feature and it sounds awesome. It tracks really well and it has all the Tom Morello charm any player could ask for. Got caught up in demo-ing the rest of the features and we didn't actually do any whammy stuff when we started recording. Mainly because of having the pedalboard at waist height. Come in and try one out if you get the chance and test it out :)

It was a lot of fun and that touchscreen is such a handy feature. We just had a go on the Helix LT as well and kept trying to use the screen in the same way - we failed obviously.

Hi FRAN S, This is a good question. You can use the Headrush with a DAW to record directly, so I assume you can record loops this way. We managed to record loops for this demo but didn't turn it on and off again to see if the last loop was still there. We will need to have a look at that once we get them in as this board was doing the rounds of the shops for demo purposes prior to release.

No you can't save them. Once turned off there wiped out, however you can stop the loop change patches whatever then go back to the loop later on press play and it's still there!. Just don't turn it off lol

Sanjeev George I'm in Australia and it's only $1400 retail here. The Helix is $2400! A decent valve combo will cost you $1500+. For the quality of this unit, what you get and what it does, this thing is cheap!

At the end of the day, if you are gigging and playing, the audience/crowd doesnt care if its a helix, headrush or GT-100 or hd-500... what do they care of is about the music they listen to. 😂

and the crowd will not know the difference between tube and solid state nor the other units like you mentioned. and even most musicians won't be able to tell even tho the tube amp snobs think they can. I have done blind tests with them many times before and so have several video demos. And the tube amp snobs usually can't tell the difference. So the point is find something that sounds good and is easy for you to work with in you style of playing. And forget what everyone else says. They have different playing styles and interests and needs that you. You get what YOU want and not what they want

Daryl Bennett maybe but thats just part of making sure your band is presented properly with a decent mix. I have been to see bands that frankly, to my ears, sound terrible. They have suffered one or all of those problems you mentioned. However, when you look around the room, people are still dancing, drinking, trying to get laid or whatever. They simply dont care! After 35 years of gigging, Ive come to the conclusion that I could plug into a 1970s transistor radio and noone would know the difference, except maybe the one other guitar player in the room...who probably hates everything you do anyway...

The limitations of the Fractal interface is one of the reasons I never bought a Axe Fx II, shortly after they came out. I think they kind of bogged down by their user interface with the excessive amounts of parameters you get for every amp, and effects. I'm not sure how they will figure out how to simplify it, but they really should.

Why doesn’t the 1/2 and 2x speed allow you to keep the pitch the same.... ? The way it is it’s useless... certainly nothing id ever want to use 2 valuable buttons for...

Those buttons are only used in the loop mode...I think there are still unused buttons in that mode...Point taken though-shifting the pitch to maintain the note would be ideal.

Hi, Believe it's all the parameters and settings are controlled solely on the board. Done some hunting around and it doesn't look to have any software as of yet. Maybe it's something they will include in the future with enough feedback on what the users of the unit want/need.
