HEALING THE PAST!! Ted Lasso 3x10 REACTION - "International Break"

Nate picking up the violin and playing it was a masterpiece. Not only was it beautiful, but reminded us he's capable of picking up who he was once again 😭😭

Fun fact: Nick Mohammed actually played the violin in that scene and his wife played the backing piano!!!

What I like about the Rebecca vs Rupert scenes is that I think Rebecca realizes she’s ok being on her own which is contrary to her perspective in season one “For The Children “ when she was saying “I don’t want to be alone.”

I love the way Rebecca looked at Rupert after he tried to kiss her. Like she was scolding a child.

Observations: Roy’s sister was the emergency room doctor who treated Dr. Sharon after the bike accident. Rupert seemed slightly frail and seeing how strong and smart Rebecca still is, he looks like he’s regretting losing her. While I do like that Roy and Keeley are back together, I want Keeley to have some sessions with Dr. Sharon to explore why she needs to jump into a new relationship so soon after the previous one ends. Love that Nate is trying to make amends, but I wish he apologized to Will in person instead of in a note. Questions: Is there significance in Rebecca re-hanging the Hockney in her office? Will Rebecca’s rejection cause Rupert to try to woo her again? She has mentioned that Rupert likes a challenge. At the pub, Mae mentioned lightning to Keeley, but could that reference be some kind of hint for Rebecca’s “lightning”? Sam told his dad he had security cameras at the restaurant, will Sam have recorded Edwin Akufu’s admissions to bribing the Nigerian national league and also the food critic’s unethical actions?

This show is a masterpiece. There will never be anything like this again. Is it possible not to tear up at least once per episode? And it’s not “high drama”, it’s small personal choices.

Trotting out the Nick Cave 'Red Right Hand' for Roy's entrance was genius! Beard finally said he was from Peoria (Illinois). Just a note: Bill Lawrence, the primary producer of the series, also produced Scrubs and his wife, Crista Miller, was the principle music supervisor choosing the songs for that show. She is doing the same thing for Ted Lasso - and she's doing a fantastic job.

Love the confrontation between Nate and his Dad- some (simplistic) resolution between them. Important.

I loved the callback to Nate sliding the note with his team talk under Ted's door in Make Rebecca Great Again when Roy is trying to slide the note under Keeley's door. I half expected Keeley to say, "Don't read it," when he started reading the note to her, but, by the end of the note, Roy didn't need to read it to remember what he wanted to say.

I always look forward to your reaction. You have seen Roy’s sister before. She was the ER doctor for Dr Sharon!

Beautifully written, directed, and acted. Rebecca, Nate, and Rupert each reconnected with their inner child to help them move forward. Phoebe’s child-like tee shirt helped break down barriers for Roy. Even Dani seemed to channel his childhood experience in El Chapo’s youth league (I’m just assuming, 😂)

Nick Mohammed actually played the violin for that scene and his wife played the piano. As a violist i could tell his technique was for real. Such a great episode and loved all the call backs to Renee! And we did see Roy’s sister when Dr Sharon had her bike accident. Looking forward to how it all ends…

Rebecca’s story about Rupert sneaking into the matches when he was younger made me cry so much. Seeing how just a memory like that can change your perspective of a person too. Not saying I like Rupert now, but it adds a lot to his character.

Also juet realized - Phoebe's teacher is Leann Bowen. Leann Bowen is one of the show's writers.

It has been made canon that the doctor that looked after Dr Sharon in S2, is in fact Roy’s sister! There were theories and speculations but it’s canon now! YES, Jack is a dickhead! I have a feeling she had designs on Keeley before she actually met and also why she funded Keeley’s PR Firm. Edwin Okufo is a spoiled child used to getting what he wants and not used to not getting his way. That end scene! AHHHHH! Full circle now! It’s a thing now! Barbara coming back to work for Keeley says something. About Barbara a corporate professional and as Keeley as a boss. Rebecca making that comment about having THAT AMOUNT of money on her person as cash!!! RICH LADY! The matchbook and the army man! Then the zoom and emphasis on the army man! HER LITTLE SMILE! 😊😍💜 The security guard was doing his job and Rupert appreciated it probably. But I still hate him for all the things he did and is doing. Nate’s dad’s “apology” is kinda late now. He’s lucky that Nate didn’t decide to be no contact with him after his treatment of Nate. Him saying that he didn’t know how to parent a genius, just be present! And don’t make your child feel like you blame the child. I love all the pink in this episode! Welcome back Biscuits with the Boss! Woooo! 💜 Rebecca’s speech to the other owners are top notch!!!

Rupert invited Nate to the club to drive a wedge between him and Jade and to put him in a position where he would lose her trust or at least question it; isolating Nate from the positive influences around him would make him easier to control; also, Rupert could get a reading on how easy or difficult it will be to influence Nate. Rupert can't have a trusted employee or a partner of any kind who exercises their own will when it contrasts his. He has to wield control over the people close to him. Period. This was Nate's "Rupert rubric" test. Nate passed because somewhere deep down, at least when it comes to a woman he loves, he has class. I guess Rupert wasn't betting on that.

Countless wonderful scenes. But top 5 all time - Rebecca's beautiful love letter to the world's most beautiful sport, all while Nate plays the background music.

I love how Ted Lasso takes out the conflict we are expecting to be main drive before the ending (like season 1 with Rebecca - we were expecting her little play to explode in the last episode, but no, she apologized before that and was forgives and it NEVER came up again). And now we have Nate leaving Westham and starting his redemption arc in the last three episodes (or even episode before I think, when he left Richard alone in the club). I love that he matured without Ted (but still growing on the base Ted created) and found Jade on his way (and she is amazing for him, may I say).

I saw an interesting theory, that Rupert invited Rebecca because he didn’t want the super league to happen, and he felt she would be a more persuasive voice against it than he would be. When I watch the scene again, that makes sense to me. A lot of people say that Akufo threw a tantrum however I’m sure Francis had to do the actual throwing lol. I don’t think Nate had anything to do with Rupert getting a new assistant, Ms Bread - when Rebecca asks what happed to Ms Kakes he responds that she “skewed dramatic.” I like to think she found out about Rupert and the private room at Bones and Honey and has reported Rupert for sexual harassment.

I’ve rewatched the episode and noticed the outfit Rebecca is wearing at the end is not her typical power suit but a relaxed flowing -type dress similar to the dress the Dutchman had her wear in the Amsterdam episode. Do we think there’s any meaning to it?

My predictions are that Ted will reach out to Nate (or maybe the other way around) and they will reconcile. Then Ted will probably suggest to Rebecca to take him as his replacement or at least be part of the coaching team again (Roy is also showing potential as head coach). I like that Roy finally loosened up (letting in some color in his life) but I didn’t like how Keeley just jumped from one relationship to the next. I think she definitely need some time to just be Keeley Fucking Jones. I love Jamie wearing 24. And I love love love the Rebecca moment. And she did all that speech sitting down. What a gal! Lastly, I petition for Edwin Okufo and Shandy to be in the same anger management seminar together. Those two need to work on their rejection reaction better. PS. I like how Beard is so weird with Jane and does a lot of unusual couple’s activities but he always extend invitation to Ted and others without hesitation because he know the other guys never judge him. I really like that. ❤

Next week’s episode is called Mom City and e everyone is saying Ted’s mom will be visiting. Is it possible Michelle went to his mom to tell her Ted is healing and for advice how to reconcile with Ted. So now his mom is coming to see for herself and to see if she thinks a reconciliation is a good idea?

I’m afraid for the show to continue after this season if Jason Sudeikis leaves. Will the rest of the writers and cast stay? Brett already writes on Shrinking and he will be in Marvel films. Would Beard stay without Ted (and would Brendan stay to write if Beard is no longer on the show)? I think these actors will start to get other roles too.
