I was skeptical of trying this channel at first, but I'm glad I discovered it. Host provides an outsider's perspective while having genuine knowledge and interest in the country and the culture, and has the right amount of enthusiasm without overdoing it. Keep it up!

@@blancdespair7678 they are not politicizing things. there is really a political censorship going on with youtube recently. i got my messages deleted 4 times recently. all deleted posts are related to hong kong-china situations and taiwan-china situations. i dont know who deleted my posts. maybe its youtube censorship. or maybe its the content creators(can they?). but my posts were deleted. one thing i noticed is that they dont delete short posts with 2-3 lines. they delete well-reasoned long posts that carries lots of messages.
I've just found and binge watched all of your videos and I absolutely love them. They're so well done and also informative and fun. I've noticed that a lot of comments are similar to mine, but it's so nice to see positive things about Chinese culture. I'm adopted Chinese and recently watched the BBC series on the president and other negative political things, and I was feeling really sad, disappointed and negative towards China, to the point where I was seriously wishing that I wasn't Chinese. But your videos have helped me remember all the amazing parts of the country and what an amazing culture that China has. I don't normally comment on videos, let alone really long comments like this but I appreciate your videos so much and I have found them so meaningful that I couldn't not comment! Keep up the good work and thank you :)

Thats so cool you've been there! Yeah, the food was decent! Can't remember the last time I left a KFC and felt healthy, and a little tipsy for that matter...
In Hainan's KFC I came across a duck fillet wraps with the sweet sauce. Essentially like a Peking duck wrap but using the wraps instead of the steam pancake. They also sell congee as well. The lunch I had for the duck wrap with drinks was about RMB 60-70 which was OK compared with Sydney's price.
KFC is good at localize their products in different regions, that's why it's more successful than McDonalds and other western fast food chains in China.

fast food franchises arrived China while the country was less developed. So they adopted different marketing policy, trying to make them as middle-level or high-end "restaurant". it is the fact that when the first fast food franchise opened in China, their menu was 4-10 times expensive than a normal Chinese meal. This phenomenon is especially true for Pizza Hut.
Yup, I *think* KFCs in Mainland China missed out on the "One portion chicken, one portion mashed potatoes, several portions salad" version in America in the 50s and 60s, so they're making up for it more recently. :)

Macdonalds tried this in Sydney but the Chinese KFC version looks a bit more upscale. Problem with Macdonalds version was it blended in too much with other cafes in area, so people preferred to go with a local one instead. Think putting it next to tradition KFC stores would help solve issue.
Wow. didn't know KFC is that huge in China!! It is crazy how different the menus are compared to the US'!! Can't believe they even have alcoholic drinks! My mind is blown away! The only thing I had at KFC when I was there was congee. LOL.
$15 USD is quite pricey for 1 person. I’d try the KPro maybe just once lol. I love love love KFC! Here in USA, it’s quite pricey and I eat it once in awhile. It’s like the ultimate comfort food. The flavor of the original recipe chicken is on point and suits my taste buds. 😀
Same in the Netherlands. Foreign fast food establishments (they aren't restaurants;) have to have healthy options by law, most other EU countries do the same. So, good job China 中国👍-up.
I've tried that burger with 2 chicken patties instead of buns in Malaysia. Not bad. Funnily, I've never seen those nuggets with Durian fillings. Actually sounds tasty to me.
So awesome! I personally don’t like or eat chicken so i avoid KFC. But it is nice to see that Kpro has other options on the menu and i would totally go just for ice cream and an alcoholic beverage.
Looks delicious! Would definitely give it a try. I was surprised that a "healthy" version of KFC serves ice cream and alcohol though, since both are very calorie heavy.
I think the ‘pro’ doesn’t mean they are only providing healthier food, but better eating environment, services, and of course better food materials to make better meals.
kfc in china is very nice, especially the restrooms. i remember every time i need to take a dump and i see the kfc logo. i began to smile like the colonel
just btw, the ice cream she's eating is pretty special! cremia ice cream was developed in Japan to be an ultra luxurious soft serve according to the website www.nissei-com.co.jp/cremia/en/ haha i tried it at a kfc in xi'an and i had to get it two more times before the end of my trip. still dream about it.
I've been to China, I get my view from experience and not biased news. My funny KFC story in China, as I only speak English was miscommunication and ended up with enough food and drinks for 4 families. It was just the wife and I. Nothing healthy though.
Ningbo Flyer nah, the Macca’s have no spicy chicken burgers nor spicy chicken wings which imho literally takes the McDonalds’ in China to the next level.
Yeah, the KFC menu in China is different. They even have the rice with meat which tasted delicious but expensive. And they have porridge too which tasted good. And they have that device that they give to you after you order then when it beep then you go get your food.
Funny, KFC here in my country probably doesn't fit cheap budget-conscious junk-food restaurant. They actually more of a middle class restaurant you bring your kids occasionally when they want some big pieces of chicken (usually budget restaurant where I live tend to be on the small size). How's the one in China?
Chinese rarely have drinking problems, and they have zero tolerance of drug use. A 18-year-old college student can grab a dozen of beers and drink them in public, but if he/she dares to try the lightest marijuana, not only very serious charges he/she will face, but also alienation by his/her best buddies.
yeah for sure, the healthy eating crowd is growing by the day! The problem is, there are so many amazing salad bars and healthy vegan cafes that I don't even know if a Kpro could compete with places like the UK or Australia
What I suggest you do is download the app dianping (点评), and type what type of food you want in Chinese (just translate that). The app is not only for food, but cinemas, malls, bars, etc... It's a must have if you are in China!

Came here right after your Seoul fried chicken (that should be a thing) video. Actually the kale salad looks pretty good. But between the Kale, Kentucky, and Korean, I'd take KFC: Korean Fried Chicken ;)
I've been here a few times. It's a very decent effort by KFC, but the portions were a bit small and quality not so great. By comparison there's a Baker & Spice upstairs were for a little more you get way, way better quality salads and sandwiches. It's also locally owned and operated. Still, nice video! Tks.
