Hey! I'm Amy from Australia! I've been travelling around China on and off for the last 10 years now. I'm here to share some of my crazy adventures, eat some yummy food, and spread positive vibes :) xx
I will definitely go to Taste of Shunde for the Roast Goose next time I am in Sydney. This is something I have been looking for in Melbourne but can't find it in Melbourne.
Good food? Adventure? Then you should go to Yunnan and try the local people eat mushrooms 🍄 Many locals will have hallucinations after eating mushrooms, seeing all kinds of small people or all kinds of strange things. Maybe you should watch the mushroom videos before you try it. 。。。。。。
They sold those duck tongue chips at a grocery store near me in Canada as well as Chicken Feet ones! I liked the chicken feet ones but not the duck ones personally, they both had very strong aftertastes and I think that’s why it wasn’t my cup of tea. 😊
Cantonese food is well-known outside of China due to Cantonese immigrants being some of the first to spread to different countries like the US and Vietnam to better their lives. I don't want to get into a political discussion (please don't bother commenting if you want to pick a fight!) about it but it is sad that the food and dialect are slowly disappearing from the mainland. I'm glad that many Cantonese make intentional efforts to preserve their language, culture, and food to pass down. My family came from Taiwan and then I grew up in the US, and growing up we always admired the members of the Cantonese community as loving, respectful, whip smart, and generous. I also married a Cantonese man and am proud of his efforts to make sure to pass down the language to our child, and I cook a lot of Cantonese dishes for the family and hope my child will too.
