I discovered this channel yesterday. I was searching for a way to get my left shoulder back in form after injury. I first sought professional help, but after 3 months of no progress, I ended up doing what I apparently should have done from day 1.. but here we are, and I'm very grateful, I can rotate my arm for the first time in about 6 months. No more vires and funny equipment that didn't do anything. Thank you, young lady, I'm very grateful.

This is superb, thanks so much for posting it! The level of chat is perfect, as I found I needed to watch myself in the mirror as well as the video so the convo keeps me in time with the motions. For me my right shoulder is the sore one but I'm stronger and more co-ordinated on the right side and my left is a bit less good at following instructions on those shoulder rotations so it balanced out! Wish I'd found this years ago. Thanks again.

This exercices will definitely be part of my training routine. I harmed myself 2 years ago after a bad boardslide landing, my right shoulder still not completely repaired, and I don't have enough money to go at doctor for months.. You and Tom brought me what I desperately hoped for so long time. It's clever, anatomically logic, and mechanic, plus, really interesting. And I like the way you show these moves and explain them, talking about your problems too, I felt warmed up and confident, it remind me of my gymnastic good ol' years ^^ Thank you a lot for offering such good training and shiny content !

Wow. This is exactly what I needed. This may be common sense to some people but, it was so nice when you said, "if you have an injured should, it may start fatiguing after 2 reps". I was on my injured shoulder when you said that and it was so nice to hear. None of my coaches said that my injured shoulder would fatigue faster than my non injured shoulder to try to protect itself. Anyway, this was so great and all the talking during the exercises helped. So many helpful bits of knowledge! I'm excited to see how my shoulder feels tomorrow ☺️
@TomMorrison
@TomMorrison Год назад
Very common to see and definitely something to track, even if you can complete the same amount of reps side to side if one side feels exhausted there’s still work to do 😄

Thanks! I did shoulder boot camp last year and this selection is exactly what I ‘try’ to do regularly - prob only twice a week before bed. I am guilty of only doing 1 set though and not 2, so this was a great follow along for me. Forgetting the rep number so often made me laugh 😂 I went from using no weight last July to 2kgs now. It’s not much, I know, but after a year out doing nothing at all to help my shoulder, I’m pleased with this progress. This follow along will help motivate me to do more frequently too (and more reps 😂)

@jc10747
@jc10747 Год назад
This is excellent. Much better than the previous intro shoulder rotation video bec the 2*10 sets create lots of time to check and recheck the complex (read “weird”) movements. The comments about how traps get involved to protect the injury are excellent…knowing why something is happening and what to do about it is always welcome. As well, that traps may be tight for the rest of the day and that they may work against recovery are important points when endurance (here I take it to mean repeatability and consistency over time) is the goal. Perhaps follow with the neck stretching video (yes,no with light weight)? A good series for swimmers and cyclists who are always dealing with shoulder and neck problems.

Big thank you..8 weeks ago gardening felt sharp debilitating pain buried in right scap [muscles]...scans don't show much...seen a few physios but remains undiagnosed...they say a lot of tension is first thing to work on...think might have buried trigger points from history of upper back weakness and undeveloped rotator cuff muscles/nothing really holding right shoulder in place ...I do have full movement but feels pinching/sharp pain behind armpits/ and crunching in right shoulder...did this session - crunchy but no pain and I am least moving again.

So I started doing this routine today. A little about myself I'm mid 40s former PT for 20 years I still go to the gym 4 to 5 days a week I only lift weights as a natural no cardio(terrible I know) my diet is OK. I don't have what you would call a shoulder injury but my shoulders always feel tight or restricted when training upper body I find it takes a warm up and even a couple of work sets before my shoulders feel good. The routine was enjoyable I felt like I moved my shoulders in ways I had not done in a long time. I could do all the movements but some definitely felt tight I used the exact same band as Jenny but felt like I was working hard after 8 reps arms were on fire despite being a very strong guy in the gym. On the dumbell exercise I only used 3kg any more felt like a ton😂 I'm going to do this routine every second day but I have to say I felt good afterwards (And more muscle fatigue than I thought I'd get) I'd recommend giving this a try I might try a lower body follow along routine for days I do not use this one as most of my above comments are revelent to my squat

They’re awesome when combined like this! I had so many neck and shoulder issues for years before this type of mobility work, a lot of it is martial arts conditioning 😄

Is it possible to do some videos for these areas? -Scalene stretch -Pecs Minor -Lats/Subscap/Teres Stretch -Rhomboids -Biceps Cause neck and shoulder exercises give me tightness in these areas and nobody ever discusses these in videos. Thanks Tom & Jen!

That was great. I thought I tore my rotator cuff, but with these exercises, although there is a lot of crunching while doing them, I am feeling so much better later!!!!!

Just came back here in the comments section to say that after a month of every other day of doing this I can rotate my shoulder for the first time in as long as I can remember. I also want to really make the point: I haven't so far used any weights or resistance band at all! Just the movements. And since I can't do the shoulder dislocations (yet) I just go forward and backwards with my palms up, not even rotating. So if you are like me and want to always go fast, don't necessarily do that 😁 I went for consistency this time and it worked 🙃 Many thanks to you guys!💫

This was great! Helped me get the rotation down better by following along. How often could we do this?

Every other day for a few weeks is good if you have shoulder issues, maintenance wise once per week would be great!
