Great talk. I am 66, an ITF winner, a long-distance runner and a sprinter I evaded all life style diseases due to these activities I turned vegan from vegetarian in Oct, 2021 thanks to a lecture by Doc McDougall And now I feel so good while exercising. My dad, 93, has just written a book on fitness- fit at any age. ( Retd Air Marshal P V Iyer) Both exercise and a starchbased vegan diet are important for keeping us fit all through the years. Less oil and salt no doubt.

It’s my hope that medical schools start to include the nutritional studies Dr. Williams discusses so clearly! Both he and Dr. Batiste are incredible models of physicians and human beings! Thanks to you both for sharing your wonderful insights. I am angry to learn how Dr. Batiste’s wife was not seen promptly. I hope she is okay!

Thank you Dr. Batiste and Dr. Williams. As a female and a minority, I have always felt that my doctors have been dismissive of my condition(s). You have convinced me to advocate for myself starting with what I put in my mouth. Over the years, I have significantly reduced the amount of meats I eat. It was easy to give up red meats and soft drinks. I didn’t know that chicken and fish and Turkey were included also. AND, juices!!! No more for me and my family. Thank you!

What “minority” are you? I assume black. ONLY black people refer to themselves as a minority when tangibles are not up for grabs. Black people must say BLACK and not be afraid to say BLACK.

I was so heartbroken about Dr Batiste’s wife and treatment in hospital. He did not end the story so I guess everything ended up ok.

At -28.44 when you're talkin about your wife in the hospital and she was not seen right away despite symptoms and your description, this is what most people have to face when they go to the hospital. I've heard such horror stories where people are in extreme pain come or having all kinds of serious issues, and still they have to wait. Not because they're black or any other color. It's lack of either knowledge, care or professionalism where they make people wait. I've even heard people dying in the waiting rooms or in the hallways. Absolutely horrible. The medical system truly sucks. Everybody is Joe Shmoe going into many hospitals.

This is true, however there is racial disparity within the medical industry. People of color suffer more; women of color suffer more STILL. This isn't debatable, unfortunately. I wish it was. No one is complaining to complain about this. ❤
