In the fall of 1977, when I was 17, my uncle worked for "Sound Seventy" (a Nashville music promotional company at the time) and was a supervisor of local stage hands. He called and asked if I would be interested in working an upcoming concert, saying he could get me in. I asked him who was on the bill and he said, "some group named 'Heart', do you know who they are?" I was ecstatic! During the work involved in setting up the stage, sound, lighting, etc., Nancy Wilson was wondering around, hanging out. I was taking a break and she came over and asked if she could talk to me(!!). She began asking me about myself. She wanted to know where I went to school, my favorite music, my hobbies. I couldn't believe it! She was SO nice, and SO sweet and thoughtful. She told me how exciting that period of time was for the band, her plans for the future (she wanted to raise horses), and how she thought they would only be popular for another 3 or 4 years. She didn't have to spend that time talking to an awkward, geeky teenager. She was so down-to-earth...could not have been a nicer person.
It’s about the music. It’s always been about the music. When you sleep with your guitar, you’re in deep. That’s a real musician right there. Couldn’t get enough of her instrument. That’s when you know it’s in your blood. And her voice is amazing. Ann Wilson’s voice is legendary, powerful, unique and made for rock and roll. I don’t care if she’s 120 or 200 pounds, she is a rock goddess. Their harmonies are a one of a kind sound too, a sound that only comes from shared DNA. The Wilson Sisters, Siouxsie Sioux, Lita Ford, Stevie Knicks, Chris McVie, Joan Jett, they broke the mold and were the first to show that a woman can front or take the lead on writing, singing and playing an instrument in a rock band and rock just as a hard as any guy. And they were good. So good they became legends ❤️
I can’t believe the names Ann your gorgeous. I don’t understand why you and Nancy are at the top of every rock and roll list. Love you. Ann what a voice and Nancy what a guitar player
I grew up in the 60’s and had the pleasure of listening to a lot of great music. But when Heart released their first album, they blew me away. Awesome band, and Ann Wilson has one of the great voices in rock music history. I saw them in concert a few years ago, and they’re still as amazing as ever. Sadly, society’s obsession with physical appearance has gotten worse and worse since the 70’s. Talent is all that matters, and Ann and Nancy have it in spades. 👍
ann wilson is stunning to look at on stage she was so overlooked for her costumes and outfit throughout the years unlike shitney houston or madonna who looked and dressed hideous during their "best years" it was a rigged media that would not give heart the credit heart deserved going back to about 1980.
Beautiful as Nancy wilson is and always will be. Nancy,Ann, you both are heaven bound #1 Great being pasrt of each other.THANKYOU YOU ARE BOTH BLESSED,ALOHA
My dad went to school with Roger, Steve, and all the original guys, they were best friends. A fact I cherish(and tbh I envy a little) and think about very often! I love these guys 🥰

Always been a huge fan. I saw the first 5 album tours , each in a different town and each time it was because of changing duty stations in the Navy. Still the band I've seen the most in my life. Love them. There talent is amazing.
Heart touched my heart and soul. Their songs make me laugh cry and be determined to be all I can be proud and feel beautiful . My own GODDESS. I love them forever
Both of those girls were and still are gorgeous. Their music is very unique and precise. I'm glad that their parents did not shut them down like so many do. Keep on rockin it girls.
At a time when disco was the rage for girls, Ann wasn't appreciated. And, not many know she did Rooster with Alice In Chains. She is THE GREATEST FEMALE ROCK vocalist of all time, but you can't the stupid little girl Gen Xers that, not the ones who had mommy and daddy coddle them.
?uck Yeh, The image of a young Ann Wilson performing Barracuda is an image no music fan can forget! One of the best female rock vocalist the US has produced!
My childhood vibrates with her sings all threw mt head it was truly amazing me and my girlfriend we grew up in the normal days and lived the whole 70s rock days heart and her voice will follow me and my old girfriend in our minds till our death
God bless Heart for following in the footsteps of Hard Rock bands like Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones, Cream, The Who and the Women pioneers like Grace Slick, and Janis Joplin.
It breaks my heart that people feel insecure. I have all my life, but I’m now dreaming and trying my best to improve. If only Ann knew how big of a crush I have on her, but more importantly how her music helps and makes me feel. Heart ❤️
First: I’m Very straight: I’ve always liked Heart. The *** holes who dogged Ann were jealous of her talent. Both sisters are beautiful and they are talented- period. Your fans never doubted you for a minute.
I know how you feel. Heart was my very first concert in Cleveland. I was only about 30 feet from the stage in a upper deck seat. Roger Fisher was AMAZING with skill and energy. At the time, I was playing guitar 6 hours a day, trying to conquer the instrument. I still play today and Roger is still one of my greatest influences...Jimmy Page, Lindsey Buckingham, Jimi Hendrix,....
I don't talk about it too much now ... but this band was a huge favorite of mine in high school. When our family moved to Washington State in 1984, the only thing I knew about Washington State was that Heart was from there. Dog and Butterfly was probably my favorite album.
What Ann's mom said it true about genetics and weight. My oldest sister who is the same age as Ann and was always big from a baby on, still is. The other 4 of us (siblings) never had weight problems, ok maybe a little
Really! I agree. I saw them in their hay day (and mine) in 1977 in a small community college form about 15 feet from the stage and they mad my hair stand on end. I\ve seen so many greats I can't even remember them all but Heart was one of my top 2 concerts ever.
💓Heart, ever since I first heard them at college in the late 70s. My next door room mate used to play their music all the time and it invaded my dreams.
The one guy said it all. "Raw talent. Their beauty is nice, but their talent is where it's all at." Like who would enjoy a show with pretty girls playing average music?
My band played a Battle-of-the-bands with "Heart", in Spokane, Washington back in 1968 when they were an all female trio, with Ann playing key bass and keyboards.. They were hot then and still are! These babes have always rocked!!!
Awesome, women they belong, best intro ever magic man intro solo, don't care who wrote it ,played it , or whatever ,when mm comes on you know its ann Nancy Wilson, Heart!
Yeah in the early 70's Ann and Nancy were seen Jamming together in their Mt. Lake Terrace Garage by my Moms friend, though they moved a lot, Very cool they were once part of my home town. "Great Songs"
Check out the New Album.. Jupiters Darling. I love Heart I was very lucky to go to the concert when they were in L.A. Ann is amazing on stage her voice her energy. Wow! Thanks for posting I have searched for this.
Anne and Nancy are both beautiful women, although I had more of a crush on Anne even though I'm more attracted to blondes, lol. Their music is absolutely mystical and mysterious, so powerful. Love Heart!
If you listen to the fans...they don't care that they look good...the point to them is the sound. The LABELS were the problems...THEY were the ones pushing the narrative. Great music is great music.
Beauty is within and Ann has some much beauty it wouldn't matter if she were 300 pounds her beautiful voice has the most pro found effect on the world and to this day in 2020.
I would like to see videos and stories of how they 1st got started and the history that led up to this part, where they made records and did major tours.
Mad respect for these girls, especially Ann. I can remember Magic Man on the radio in 1976 when I was 7. Ann kicked ass. Her and Chrissie Hynde (mispell) are my 2 favorite women in rocknroll.
People who make fun of others do so because they see theirselves in those others and do not like what they see. The fear is covered with belittling. The way to change is to treat others with kindness despite their physical appearance. Namaste.
