Lol I loved it.. Wish I knew about this atban early age. I had a vision about this and I never knew what life really is. I see it as steady growth and about visions and our wildest dreams are going to come true because we are our vision we are our light our energy. We are, even when I refer as myself there I used the word we because with one is within. But thanks to science we've disocoverd a way to live eternally.

Great video, though I have one question: If a cardiac muscle cell gets activated by a neuron(for example a neuron from the AV node) through the T-tubule, what role do the other T-tubules from the other cardiac muscle cells have, assuming that the pulse goes through the gap junctions and activates the other cardiac muscle cells? In other words, how do the gap junctions and T-tubules relate/work together?

I'm confused, How does this work with regards to an Action potential? You explain in your video of "Role of the Sarcoplasmic Reticulum in Muscle Cells" that its the Na+ channels that are opened up during the Muscles action potential causes the "protein complex" (using Ryanodine) that triggers the S.R to dump its Ca+. So my confusion is: Is it absorption of Ca+ into each Cardiac cell's SR that triggers the contraction (by binding to Troponin which shifts Tropomyosin) or the Action potential triggered by the flood of Na+ ions causing Depolarization that causes Ca+ to be dumped into the cell.

When the calcium is released from the sarcoplasmic reticulum what keeps it from binding the junctin/ryanodine/triadin receptor and perpetuating more Ca2+ release and muscle contraction?

The sarcoplasmic reticulum stores few calcium ions, so most of the calcium ions must come from outside the cells. The result is a slower onset of contraction. Your video seems to say that SR has LOTS and triggered by a little? Explain this point please
@meghanmcquade1452
@meghanmcquade1452 3 года назад
A small amount of Ca2+ from outside the cell diffuses down its electrochemical gradient into the cytoplasm of the cell (which has a super low concentration of Ca2+ at rest) and then binds to the RyR2 channel in the SR which allows the RyR2 channel to open and the Ca2+ ions inside the SR (which contains a really high concentration of Ca2+ ions relative to the cytoplasm) to diffuse down their concentration gradient from the SR into the cytoplasm of the cell and bind to troponin. Most of the Ca2+ that causes contraction comes from the SR, not from outside the cell. Let me know if this makes sense and if not I can explain it differently.
