I believe this practice is so beneficial as we continue to navigate our days, in which it may be very easy to create barriers and blockages to protect the heart and avoid the discomfort. I lovingly urge you and me both, to remember… Discomfort is part of growth. Keep caring for yourself, so that we can keep caring for each other.

I am a YWA member, and try to follow your daily calendar. Yet, somehow in mid-May, my world became so heavy with work and the burdens of our current world that I stopped. In the past almost two months, I have created those barriers and blockages to protect the heart -- they are false protections, and often very dangerous (e.g. food, alcohol, burying oneself in work). Thank you for your call in this post and in your Sunday email to allow discomfort. I needed the gentle nudge to open my heart and grow through the discomfort. I am grateful for you, Adriene.

I've been feeling transition and uncertainty in so many areas of my life and haven't figured out how to release the tension, the worry, the heartache, the fear. @zuriwilson-seymore8939 hello my darling friend ❤️ It's been tough going lately both physically and emotionally and I haven't been able to manage any yoga. Hopefully that will change soon as I finally have my appointment with the specialist today about my back. Not sure if you remember but when my friend died I took his little dog who had been my shadow while at work. Well we finally had to say goodbye to him last week and it's broken my heart. It's like all the grief for my friends come out at the same time. Only time can help there I guess 💕 How have you been? Have things picked up with your tutoring yet? Xx

Doing this on February's Align, in 2023. Who's with me?🤗👋 It's a funny practice for me today.😄 I intended to do this sequence in the morning but there was a blackout here exactly when I stepped on the mat so I had to create my own yoga practice from scratch and I'm probably gonna do this in the evening. Today's a windy day here where I live. The sun has sometimes creeped out but it's still more like a pre-storm weather despite the sunlight - changing in every minute. What made this morning and my yoga practice intereseting for me is the observation I made. We had a tiny fight with my mom this morning and I tried to notice my feelings and also understand her point instead of being offended for forever. I thought it's gonna be an interesing challenge and experiment: observing how I act when literally everything around me is falling apart, how it affects my practice. I saw my mom getting stressed even more and more (she wanted to bake but the blackout affected everything in our house: the oven, the heating, the lights, the washing machine etc.) which motivated me to be the one with a calm heart and mind despite our fight. Which we discussed after my yoga practice - and the sun started to shine a little brighter, although it sounds really cheesy.😂🌞 Also, the 'blackout problem' has been solved, almost right after our discussion. It was an interesing coincidence. We had to work out something together (during the blackout) with my mom in case the problem lasts longer than we thought, which allowed us to bond with each other more and in the end the sun creeped out a little bit and we forgave each other. Asking for forgiveness and forgiving each other, it had a magical effect on my bakasana: this morning was the first time I could hold my bakasana four times in a row and for more than a few seconds.💪😁 It really helps a lot if we look at every situation as a state that changes often rather than as something that feels like it's gonna last forever. Because everything changes and we cannot control everything around us. Namasté.🙏

I just had an interesting experience: just after practice my mom rang and we have a difficult relationship but i was able to respond in a calm and kind way from the heart.💚 Thanks a mill. Namaste

4/28, Align, February 2023✅ Today a cold creeped od me and I didn't want to practice because all my bones hurt. But...I did it. For all the aches in my body and it did wonders. Now I am off to sleep. 💪🤞🤍🧘‍♀️

Good morning, William (well, it's no longer morning for you - but it IS a cold, rainy morning for me!). I was thinking exactly what Astrid said - I've enjoyed Move so much (SO much....I thought it was perhaps the best yet, Adriene her strongest and most wonderful self, and encouraging/guiding us to be so too) but it's good to be "back" to our monthly calendar as well, and seeing some familiar folks.

@@astridlim5512 I checked in with Gil in November, when I hadn't seen her here for a bit! She was having shoulder problems and had surgery, was recovering - she told me she wouldn't be able to practice with us for a while as she recovered. I missed her during Move, too :). In fact, another thing I have enjoyed the last few days is seeing her comments on our Blossom practices from previous calendars. She has so much to offer and share, and such great perspective.

ADMIRE 💖 | February 13, 2024 | Love this heart centered practice! Unlike the last two times we did it, I stayed inside today with my woolly socks on to start. I can't wait until the summer weather returns and I can take my practice outside again. But for now, this was a lovely break in my work day to reset and reconnect! 🙏

Anxiety is no fun. My mind is pretty loud right now & I feel overwhelmed with negative thoughts of the future. My heart feels so heavy. I've always kept my thoughts & feelings to myself but YWA is helping me learn to open up slowly. Today is a day I'm grateful for yoga 🙏🏻especially this particular practice.

Reading my comment on this video from 3 months ago has really hammered home how much things can change in such a short time. I remember being so churned up and worried when I wrote it. Now things haven't really got better, in fact healthwise things are not so great. The difference is in how much more accepting I am that these are things I have no control over. What I can control is my reaction to them. Yesterday my physio gave me a list of things not to do any more. No more squats or lunges and forget training for the 5k run with my grandaughter. BUT he said I can walk it and definitely keep up with the yoga as it's the best thing I can do to keep the muscles strong to support my failing joints. Acceptance changes everything 🥰

Thank you Adriene. I have been doing Yoga with Adriene since 2020. Adriene has created Yoga for everyone with excellence. The combination of her advanced knowledge of Yoga, her gentle voice, her precise words for moving us into position, her humor, her dog Benji, is the real deal. I'm doing this Feb 22 series after having gone through the 30 day Move series. My goal is Yoga everyday for a year! Big goal and I know a lot can happen in that time but I get so much out of this and everyday I learn more and go deeper. like Adriene said "the pose is one thing, but how you exist in the pose is everything" I love that. everyday, thank you Adriene

today’s practice done on: * 2/3/22: a bit sore from my workout so this was perfect to stretch out my chest/upper body…day 3 of blossom! 🌷 * 11/11/22: a bit of a rough few days but remembering to prioritize me. meditate 🧘🏼‍♀️ day 11 * 12/23/22: time truly does heal, and I even have off from work on this -10 degree day. breathe, day 22 🫁 * 2/12/23: a reminder and renewal to know that my heart is open to receiving all the goodness I know I deserve. align day 4 ⭐️ *6/29/23: finally had a chance to do this practice 😊my favorite (and best tbh) heart opener…the last one, namaste. love day 9 🌈

Adriene, I fell in love with Yoga via your videos and your approach, not only in technique, but your lighthearted spirit. I love the idea of finding peace in the mundane. I do it everyday. I love to listen to the trees talk to the world and each other. They’re always there waiting for someone to listen. Loving my cat, caring for my garden, drinking coffee or tea, reading, walking (and yoga of course) are my greatest joys. Teaching and talking with children fills my heart and soul. Thanks for reminding me and all of us to appreciate the simple joys, for they really are the greatest.

Love day 9. 978 days in a row. --‐----- Almost 7pm here, and I just finished. I got a late start after riding a bike two hours to the northern part of the city to give it away to a friend. One more task completed before I leave Korea in 12 days. That said, I was so exhausted and fell asleep this afternoon. I could have stayed on the mat forever, but there is still so much to do. @@clouddreamer4780 Hi Constance, I am trying to do February every day and with 30 days of yoga I am thinking that I can take day off or do for example Adriene's Restorative yoga instead. That is if I am tired of my back is hurting or so on. Just making sure I do not over do it. I have done couple of Adriene's 30 day yoga sequences at the same time, just not every day. I think we'll be fine, we just have to listen to our body and not over do it. This is so much fun, lets keep in touch and see how we'll do yoga during February

@@clouddreamer4780 Hi, how has your MOVE repetition coming along? I have been cross country skiing and shoveling snow. I have kept up with BLOSSOM, with 30 days of yoga I did some catching up yesterday did days 5,6, and 7. And it felt ok. This mornig I did day 8 which was really nice and relaxing. My abdominals are getting better. Hope you are getting along well with your challenge. Namaste

This slow, slow practice has left me very calm and thoughtful. It took me through moves with intention. I’m feeling a little stiff in the mornings here in lockdown in England. It seems a long one this time but Spring is coming and I’m looking forward in a positive manner. The days are getting longer, snow is melting and little plants are peeping through. My morning YWA is the perfect way to start each day 🧘🏼‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️🙏💕

Good morning, Gill (well, good morning here in rainy Massachusetts)! I had to switch out practices so am a day "behind" with this one....will enjoy savoring it after reading your note. I am lifting you all up from across the pond...and I admire your spirit, intention and positive energy. I, too, am endeavoring to watch and enjoy that lengthening light, notice the scant but stalwart bird song in the morning and here in colder climes look forward still to those peeping plants. I swap in and out of the calendar to suit my body’s needs and my mood, so today Day 16, I chose a bit of fitness with Creativity. I smiled at your rain as today it’s raining here in England. Wow my body was fueled by anxiety when I woke up today. My breath was stuck, my heart was racing, my belly hurt. This practice allowed me to slow down, to open up to movement and flow again. Blossom Day 3, love you all 💖✨

ALIGN 🌟 | February 4, 2023 | My intention for today's practice was to allow my spirit to fully enter my body, breath by breath. Felt the heart opening in threading the needle and felt some emotions move through in the crescent lunges. 🙏

Day 3 post Move ❤️ I began Move feeling like I needed something extra for myself. I’m a runner and while running can be meditative in itself, it can be harmful when you have struggled with or are still struggling with an ED, as the calories burned become addicting and then running becomes less about the mental aspects and more about the caloric burn. I started Move wearing my Garmin to see how many calories I burned. When I saw that it was minimal, I was surprised to feel that I didn’t feel total dread, something in me changed. I said to myself more and more, “well, it’s not that many, but I feel great.” I decided to ditch the watch for the last week’s worth of practices and truly focus on what matters- my mental health. I encourage everyone out there to try if you are currently a prisoner of your technology! With everything and everyone plugged in these days, sometimes without even realizing it, it is so freeing to let go. How you feel after a workout is way more important than the number of calories burned. ❤️

I've had a heavy heart all day, no idea why. I was planning to watch netflix all evening and do absolutely nothing but I pushed myself to do this yoga routine instead. I am glad I dit it. I feel so much lighter now and gained some energy. Thank you Adriene!

I am amazed. The right side of my neck and the area under my right shoulder blade has been in pain for 3 years. I've seen multiple doctors, done MRIs, X-rays, physiotherapy, arthroposophic therapy, regular ol' therapy, massages, and what have you to treat it. I've never felt as pain free as I do in this instant, after this practice in Shift. Thank you so much, Adriene.

Definitely going to be bookmarking this one. I was having a rough day at work and this really helped pick me back up. I think I most enjoyed the opening and closing in thread the needle. Doing the movement with the breath created an interesting bit of challenge for the upper body while really helping to open the chest for deeper breaths. I will spend the rest of my shift in a pleasant mood. Thanks again Adriene! To those joining us from Move and continuing with Blossom. To those just starting out. I see you. I send you love. Felt a lot of new muscle activation. I think i love down dog, a pose i used to despise only a year ago. I love how yoga changes your mind, mindset and tolerence. My edge was met with grace today. My heart is open. Namaste. ❤Love day 9❤

I was taken aback by the amount of positive, creative energy I felt during this practice! I loved your thoughts on masculine and feminine energy, I totally agree that everyone has both and it can be expressed in so many different ways. For me, I felt a bit of both, and they blended really well together while doing the thread the needle pose. The masculinity came through with the controlled movement of the twist, and the femininity came through with the softening of my face and fingers while doing it. Felt awesome!

Admire💝 - February 2024 Heart chakra yoga for beginners💚 I admire the way I open myself up to love and to all experiences that I am blessed with. Practiced today in a little zen corner of Cornwall where I am staying for the week, a place that is a proper retreat and where I often feel cleansed and re-opened/rejuvenated once departing so to do todays heart opening practice in this slice of heaven was a real treat. I also realised halfway through that my green yoga mat matches the colour of todays chakra! Everything is perfectly aligned☺️💚. Wonderful to tend to the heart space today, to curate self-love from within and in turn radiate it outwards to others. A positively charged practice that has made feel all glow-y from within. I am a free-flowing vessel of love! I am shining big beams of love to you all - I hope you can feel it💓. Namaste wonderful friends🙏✨🤗❤️ xx

Day 4 align had a weird moment when Adriene mentioned feeling your heart in your back body, I could picture my heart within my body, not something I’ve ever been able to do before.

I love these breathing techniques 'lots of love in and lots of love out', it really helps to somehow get rid of the heaviness in the heart and helps release the tension that is holding the heart back, just phenomenal! Good morning, community. I came to the mat today with heaviness from the anniversary of my father’s death, frustration about dating, and dealing with my mother who I have a difficult relationship with during another snow day. I had to release the baggage in order to stay in tune myself. I’m going to take care of myself today and I’ll see you tomorrow for Day 4 of our Blossom journey.

Blossom day 3. "Notice where your mind goes" . . . thank you for the space to grieve and to know that it is OK to continue to process these feelings of loss. This is a wonderful space and pace to do so in. My heart was definitely feeling tonight.

Blessed Beloved Beauties! Love Day - 9 is refreshing and enlightening. Ironically, an intention I set for this session before was "enlightenment. So thankful for this practice today. I didn't even realise how much I needed it until Adriene said "rest your heart and soul" in childs pose. That was the moment my emotions finally bubbled over. My heart is so fearful right now with the whole situation in the UK. The social division being created by the political and covid situation is really affecting me. Much more so than at any other time during the last 2 years of this pandemic. My English stiff upper lip is definitely not feeling very stiff lol. This practice has made it into my list of favourites 🥰

I enjoyed this practice this morning so much. I had to come back to comment. This changed my flow of the day and made me softer with myself. There are a couple of modes with the heart. Sometimes I am tough love and rigid, while other times I am soft. Today I am full blast - rushing waterfall of love... but still soft. Like the mist that rises from the water meeting the water. It floats and permeates all around. Thank you Adriene. Beautiful.

I literally cannot describe what a great great practice this was. I was surprised, after a year of yoga how not a cliche your famous sentence "find something new" is. I found a balance in something that was a struggle for me for the last time, being with myself and being with others. I just did the same looking cat cow but creating a new intimacy with myself and that felt great 🙂🙂 This entire practice was so special and I really feel like it helped me to process my emotions. Good morning Adrienne I just read your lovely letter this morning and I decided to do this practice yesterday after I did Dedicate space practice and the moon practise. Something made me feel like I wanted to do something for someone and my little sister had been cooped up indoors due to cv-19 and it's her birthday next month. I drew her a picture of a fairy garden 😍 she is only 9. I spent over 5 hours through the day on it and it felt like it truely came from my heart. Love and hugs to you my friend and Yoga guide.
