Sanjay, you are spot on. Ever since I started being more mindful, happy, present, eliminated alcohol completely from my life, eating whole foods, taking fish oils, magnesium, sleeping better, all of my health issues resolved. I now know why. I reduced the inflammation.
@fisterhr
@fisterhr 3 года назад
There are three things that I've learned you should never allow to get out of control: 1)inflammation 2)insulin resistance and 3) oxidative stress. I'm sure there is more but if you can keep those three in check, along with maintaining a good immune system, you'll save yourself from a lot of medical headaches in your life.
@jacquidan01
@jacquidan01 2 года назад
@@fisterhr how do you check for oxidative stress?
@fisterhr
@fisterhr 2 года назад
@@jacquidan01 A quick google search will give you a list of signs of oxidative stress. Here is a list I found: -Fatigue -Memory loss and/or brain fog -Muscle and/or joint pain -Wrinkles and grey hair -Decreased eye sight -Headaches and sensitivity to noise -Susceptibility to infections
@jacquidan01
@jacquidan01 2 года назад
@@fisterhr thank you!👍 But are there any tests that can be taken to show this? These signs can be a many things.
@fisterhr
@fisterhr 2 года назад
@@jacquidan01 YOu should ask your doctor. He/she can guide you in the right direction OR, you should consult with a naturopath. On your next doctor visit, ask for a fasting insulin test, something they usually don't order unless you ask for it. They may tell you that the A1c is enough, but that is not true. You can have a normal sugar count and still have insulin levels out of the normal levels and that is VERY DANGEROUS if it doesn't get addressed soon. Ask for the insulin fasting test or demand it! Don't take no for an answer. if your doctor refuses to do it, find another one or pay for it out of pocket because it is VERY IMPORTANT. If your fasting insulin levels are out of range, then you need to ask your doctor for help in fixing that. If you read between the lines of what I'm advising you here, you'll notice that I'm helping you to push your doctor to get TO THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM, instead of allowing him/her to prescribe medication to treat something for life, instead of curing it. Does that make sense?

@@halimahabduljabbar5162 Odds are, there are lifestyle changes you can make to improve your cholesterol numbers. That’s true because, more often than not, unhealthy behaviors are the main culprits behind high cholesterol. Your body naturally produces all the LDL (bad) cholesterol it needs. An unhealthy lifestyle - not enough exercise, too many unhealthy foods - makes your body produce more LDL cholesterol than it needs. This is the cause of high LDL cholesterol for most people. Behaviors that can negatively affect your cholesterol levels include: Unhealthy diet Lack of physical activity Smoking or exposure to tobacco smoke Excess weight Stopping or reversing these unhealthy lifestyle factors can help improve your cholesterol numbers. but don't panic, I already have a solution, For more information, click here tinyurl.com/y2qq3t6c >

Dear Dr Gupta, Interesting talk never cease to rise the awareness to negate the effects of cholesterol. Being a retired medic, routine cardiac investigation showed the changes only to have stent in the widow maker artery. Although kept up with good health prior to only forcing me to study, learn nutrition experimenting on myself a triad of losing weight, nutritious diet and exercise. My blood pressure came down dramatically, all the blood results are bang normal. Blockages in the artery made me more resolute to address the issue without a fear which most patients do. I did relocate to India soon after retirement. I am on plant based diet. My balanced food of dietary fibre, antioxidants and anti inflammatory nutrients come from the home cooked meal. In a month I get through chia seeds, basil seeds, millets, legumes, beans, fruits, vegetables, spinach both green and red, balsamic vinegar. I call this biotuning over a period of nine months. I don’t have question. I only have solution to avoid processed and ultra processed food. Kitchen gender free, if we don’t spend quality time in the kitchen with fresh produce only to end up spending part of life in the hospital. Bas.

The amount of cholesterol you eat, ironically has no effect on preventing heart disease. Zero Heart attacks sky rocketed when they started homogenizing milk and stopped feeding cows grass. Grass creates k2 in milk. It's why I drink organic milk. However, organic milk only is 30% grass fed. back in the day it was 100% grass fed. Homogenized milk Scratches the artery walls and creates lesions. Cholesterol is the scar tissue that repairs these lesions. Constant repair makes these plaques thicker and thicker until it causes a heart attack. Doctors will Say Sticky cholesterol that, and good cholesterol this and bad cholesterol , whatever, But it's the scientist that say k2 cures heart disease. The doctors are the ones who are taught by reading what the scientist say. But the Corporation dictates what information the scientist can provide to the Doctors, The cardiologist of the world, today are forced by the corporation to follow to listen to what man said in 1951 Paul Dudley .The man was a fraud who worked for the corporation. Go figure

Thanks Dr Gupta. I knew cholesterol wasn’t the only reason for heart disease so was hesitant to take statins when prescribed by my cardiologist. Have about 40% artery calcification. After your clearer explanation will start statins

Your very valuable advise has to be put into practice when one is 20 years to prevent erosion or take treatment from the best doctor like you. You have given very good controllable factors.

Very good analogy to explain the real problem, inflammation. You mention lifestyle factors, including diet, but is it fair to say that sugars are the primary contributing factor to inflammation, and the main lifestyle change to make?

Thank you thank you! You confirmed all of my thoughts and feelings about taking prescriptions so quickly, without trying to figure out the underlying problems and solving the underlying reasons for a particular situation first. I am not a doctor, but I have always thought about all the things that you have discussed in your videos. It all just makes since.

The presentation is excellent. It has been proved that chlolestorol plays an important role in our body, especially aged people need more cholesterol as they grow older. Now it has been proved that statin is very harmful .and has so many side-effects. Your comments please.

I have been learning this recently. LDL cholesterol is necessary. Helps with dementia, whereas statins do the opposite, plus other side effects. I stopped my statins.

Really liked this presentation. Clearly some of the Drs are thinking for themselves against big pharma dogma and seeing that papering over the cracks doesn't really make the underlying issue any better. Rather it just kicks the can down the road a bit and makes some shareholders happy.

Very well explained Dr.Gupta! What still is unclear to me how the model of heart disease you are describing is consitent with people who have genetically elevated LDL. The only have this one risk factor and most severe cases have heart attacks before age 10. So somehow cholesterol has to play a big role in the development of CHD…
@Rene-uz3eb
@Rene-uz3eb Год назад
It might be because in the genetic disease, ldl is not cleared by the liver efficiently, which means the ldl hang around in the blood longer and can get oxidized. Now the oxidized ldl is very much more damaging: the macrophages vacuum the oxidized ldl up leading to foam cells. Role of oxidized LDL in atherosclerosis, 2015 Conversely if your ldl levels are too high, it’s an indication that the ldl does hang out in the blood too long.
@julianurfahr4067
@julianurfahr4067 Год назад
@@Rene-uz3eb ok lets assume you are right (and to a certain degree you are because patients with FH do actually have less LDLR activity). Still those patients have one single risk factor, they are usually not hypertensive, not overweight, children will not consume excessive amounts of saturated fats, do not have Diabetes. Atherosclerosis is a multifactorial disease. But i just dont understand how people can say ldlc is not a culprit is just stunning to me. For me it is absolutely unbelievably how even doctors sometimes argue ldl is not a contributor to CHD. Not everybody who is on statins needs them and many will be better of improving lifestyle. But if those young children dying from heart attack under 10 y/o are not evidence enough than nothing is…

I listened to lipologist Thomas Dayspring on The Proof podcast. He says that the only thing needed for LDL particles to enter the artery wall is an LDL (ApoB is a better measure) level above optimal in your blood. No inflammation or damaged endothelium is needed. Yes the damage accellerates the plack buildup but a main cause of the inflammation is the LDL’s that are already in the artery wall.

This is how plaques form in arteries. Glucose cause infammation and cholesterol is brought to the inflammed part of the artery to repair the damage caused by inflammation. Cholesterol levels is not an issue. Your liver will produce cholesterol if the blood level is low. Recent statistics show that 70 percent of heart attack patients have normal LDL levels. The problem basically is inflammation of endothelium of arteries. Sugar, trans fats, omega-6 cooking oils increase inflammation. Olive oil, and omega-3 fish oils, and magnesium (which is found in cocao) reduce inflammation. Saturated fats increases both HDL and LDL and their effects are at worst neutral.
