Beautiful song. Beautiful voices. Beautiful melody. Lovely nuanced harmonies. Artistry which is lost in todays so-called music. So fortunate to have grown up listening to these ladies and so many other legit musicians back in the '70s.
It's 1978 I'm 17 years old. Dazed and confused as we all were at that time. This song saved my life. I was truly giving up. Gratitude. It's carried me to 2024. Powerful.
Yes, this song is such a blessing! 1978 I was 10, I remember how riveted I was when I heard this song, it touched something so mystical, hopeful, magical and mysterious within
@@pennybenton5607 We are are survivors but we had angels in our wings with the music. Yes I still listen to the songs that helped me get through as well. Gratitude for your post sister.
They are still as amazing now as they were back when I first heard it . I'd forgotten how absolutely perfect their music is . Nothing like it today. God we were so blessed to live back when this was the kind of music we had.
Actually, I think Adam Lambert could give her a run for the money. Still, I would rather see them perform together. Just imagine the rafters shaking and coming down if this were to come true!! Nirvana!
Today's April 6, 2023. Hard to believe this video of the Wilson Sisters doing Ann's favorite song was digitally recorded 21 years ago. And they both nailed it. Amazing talent.
R.I.P. ❤😮😢LISA MARIE LONCHAR SEPT. 29,1963-OCT. 31,2013 🎉OUR FRIENDSHIP SONG THANK YOU 🙏 💕! WILSON SISTERS XOXO FOND MEMORIES BOTH WAYS YOU WERE EXCELLENT IN AT PINE KNOB 2023 WITH LED ZEPPELIN EXPERIENCE TOUR. 🤟
Totally agree :) On my top 5 (ranking high on it) favorite Heart songs for sure. The lyrics are great as always, and those chords...... :)) Love these girls since the 80's
This is what real music is.. They wrote all their lyrics , and musical parts... No fake auto tune bs, or ghost writers... They earned their success... Can we please get back to this?
Ann is the best rock singer ever in my book, period. But, Nancy is amazing in the live harmonies. Only Alyona comes close in modern times to this level of singing.
Miyuki, Did you happen to see them at Japan Jam 79? I was there, it was a fantastic show! They stole the show from the headliners (The Beach Boys - LOL)
These two female rockers stand the test of time 😊TRULY AMAZING vocals!! SO thankful to have grown up when music was written and sung with your heart! ❤️
Been listening to Heart since highschool. I'm 64 now and I've still never heard a voice like Ann Wilson and Nancy blends perfectly with her. Guess I'll stick with them as my favorite duo. They still move me after all this time. God bless.
Nancy does have a fantastic voice , one that most singers should be envious of. However, even she knows that she is no match, vocally wise, for Ann. Just as Ann, can't match Nancy on guitar.
Every year on this date I play this song in memory of my big brother Mike. He faced a lot of demons and died at 49 yrs old. I miss him so much but this song has always reminded me of him in life and death. Ann and Nancy thank you for this beautiful song.
This is one of the best live recordings. My dad bought the album when I was around 9. I loved the album cover. My dad and I listened silently to the whole album. At the end, my dad asked, what do ya think?? My answer was, play it again dad!! I was instantly hooked.
Back in 1980 I was a young man not sure what i wanted to do with my life so I decided to go the road just anywhere. I packed my bags and drove from miami, Fl and need up in Los Angeles. All the way there I had an old tape player and this was one of the songs I played during that cross country trip. A beautiful song.
I'm 59 this year... I wish I could give this 100 thumbs up and Dreamboat Annie! Every time I hear those songs it brings back feelings of nostalgia and brings me back to so many moments in my life. So many faces no longer there. I simply adore this song. Usually, late night house parties and such is where this ballad would be played, tucked in between heavier rock from Judas Priest etc... It was a time some of the greatest music ever written was coming out of Europe and North America including ballads from the Bee Gees Main Course album like Country Lanes, China Crisis' Wishful Thinking, Split Enz's Six months in a Leaky Boat. Just imagine for a moment... 3am everyone pretty much at the pinnacle of their night, smokey fog lingering in the air, empty bottles everywhere and a few folks left dancing in the middle of the floor... On comes Dog and Butterfly.... Ahhhhh the memories. I was fortunate to see them in concert at least 8 or 9 times stemming back to the early years. It's burned its position in the recesses of my mind for all the remainder of my days. Thanks Ann and Nancy.
How I wish Time could just stop a moment, so I could go back to my youth, and see these beautiful ladies sing live just one more time before I depart this life. So many memories, and so long ago, yet it seems as if only yesterday.
Sad isn’t it. “We're getting older the world's getting colder For the life of me I don't know the reason why Maybe it's livin' making us give in.” Those lines seem to stir emotions in me as I get older.
I've loved this Heart song my entire life. It reminds me of those early growing up years when innocence was all around. The playful dog chasing the butterfly was our innocent world ...
@@jennygray7999I'm sorry your early years were difficult. It's interesting that this song meets both of our needs despite the vast differences in our upbringing. Peace to you ... 💗
This was beautiful. Brought tears to my eyes. It looked like Ann was gonna cry throughout the song which filled this with even more emotion. Guitar playing was perfect, harmonies were perfect. GREAT performance, brilliant song.
It's up to 80 now, must be 80 guys hating the fact that 2 girls kick their ass musically? As a guy that plays guitar, I know I was crushed when I heard Nancy rip through the intro to "Crazy on You". I still think they're great!
I remember back to fall of 1977, driving up I79 from my home in western PA to Behrend College in Erie. There was a small independent radio station out of McKean PA. They played the hell out of Heart, the Dreamboat Annie album. That was the highlight of my trip.
Still one the most powerful things to have ever happened to music. The Wilson sisters. BOOM! This song, how can something so sweet and melodic cut and sting so bad? It gives me happiness and bitterness every single time I listen to it. That's music right there!
I love to listen to Ann. She has a way of bringing peace and pleasant memories of my youthful days when life was so much more simpler. Thank you Ann. I'll always love you.
I think it's the first time I've seen Ann with a guitar!! And I've seen them live several times. This is even better than the recorded version....you can hear both voices so much better!!!
Saw Heart twice in the early 80s but was shocked one day in 2000 walking by the Beacon theater in NYC that Ann & Nancy Wilson were appearing there in an hour?? Bought a 4th row ticket & was utterly blown away by them as a duo. Ann did play acoustic on a few songs -- flute on others. Nancy had 12 guitars set up on stands in a semi-circle behind her (acoustic, electric & one mandolin.) Always loved Heart, but this was the day I realized how immensely gifted these sisters are as a duo, where their glorious talent shone forth crystal clear in blinding rays -- can never forget their amazing rendition of "Mother" by John Lennon...no words to describe how stunning they were and are...and will always be... ✨🎵🎸👩🏼💌👩🏻🦱🎤🎵✨
I grew up near Seattle and still fondly remember listening to this song (and many of their others) as a kid. Many decades later, the Wilson sisters still stand among the best musicians of all time.
