Hearthstone 20 cards that were removed 

It is rumoured that the skeleton card was removed because it was too sp00ky.

The only way to get the skeletons (the 3/3 for 3) was to play Sylvanas. Before, the battlecry of Sylvanas was to discard all your card and to give you 5 skeleton.

Worldflipper+Nozdormu would have been glorious.

Penance was a priest spell that costed free mana and dealt free damage and restored free health to your hero.

There should be a Tavern Brawl with old versions of cards!

Penance was removed. That's why in TGT Warrior gets it. Lesson : No matter how much Priests steal, Warriors are there to steal from Priests

Devoring ooze never was in the game. Ben Brode tweeted about it and confirmed it was a scam.

Skeleton is from old Sylvanas. 6 mana, 5/5: Discard your entire hand and add 3 Skeletons into it. Ozumat was replaced by Deathwing 10 mana, 12/12: Discard your entire hand, and murder all other minions

They should make decks with these removed cards in the Tavern Brawl, specifically the AutoPecker and World Flipper :P

Skeleton is a card that was from Sylvanas Windrunner's old effect. Her old effect was "Battlecry: Discard your hand. Draw five 3/3 skeletons. [5 mana, 5 attack, 5 health, legendary]" She then went to 5 mana with her current effect. then went to 6 mana as we know it today.

Penance was remade into Bash that just came out in The Grand Tournament except for Warrior, and the gain 3 health part is now gain 3 armor.

The pecker and world flipper are so cool, wish we could have them in the game, at least the pecker for some fun stuff. Maybe in a tavern brawl? Though i want the pecker in my collection~

I wish the worldflipper was a thing. It would have been hilarious to put that card in decks. Especially seeing how there's so many people that would have problems dealing with that kind of thing.

Not sure if this is a known easter egg or not but i've see the auto-pecker 4000 (or at least something like it) in the teleporter on the GvG board.

I think the 3/3 skeleton came from the first version of Sylvanas Windrunner. Basically, it discarded your hand and you would draw five of the those skelies.

I thought this was gonna be bullshit when I saw the amount of dislikes, but I watched the vid in anyway, and it turns out it wasn't bullshit (the dislikes are just from children, so they don't count). Anyway, I already knew about all those cards being removed in the alpha. Btw, did you know that heroes used to be able to say *"Lucky"* and *"Good Game"* also? But that was removed :( Anyway bro, it's a good video.

It's not like we won't see these cards again. We probably will with either completely different effects or nerfed altogether. But it was interesting to see what they took out before official release. Spider Tank was originally removed in the alpha and later returned to us in GvG so it's not entirely unlikely we won't see at least some of these cards again.

I'm sorry but beeta is driving me insane.

World flipper, wouldn't be good today, I can play the game client on my tablet, without downloading the app, so in theory I could lock the screen, flip it and just play that way, and it would be worthless

Interesting, it seems like the devouring ooze would be an interesting card. However, due to the obvious reason that you can just lose 10 games in a row in casual then do 1 game in ranked, it would have to be for every rank you lost in a ranked game in a row. That would make it a lot more interesting, and it would stop sudden losing streaks from rank 11 down to 20, as you'd have 2 3 mana minions that would get increasingly stronger for each time you lose. not that I want this card to be included, but it just seems like such a cool effect.

You forgot Mega-Blast. Millhouse used to be a 2 mana 2/2 with Battlecry: Add a Mega-Blast card to you hand. Mega-Blast I believe is a 10 mana legendary spell that hits all enemy characters for 5 damage. That version of Millhouse was too strong, so they changed him and got rid of the Mega-Blast card.

This isn't a rhetorical question thought it may sound like one. What do you mean when you say that a card replaced another card? Some of these cards are completely different than what they were supposedly replaced with. Did Blizzard actually come out and say that they specifically replaced the old card with the newer ones? Or, is there some other reason to say that these cards were the "replacements"? Just curious about the history of the early days of Hearthstone. I'm sad I missed it. I didn't start until the game was officially "out".

Just so you know the Autopecker and Worldflipper were spawned from the gelbin mekkatorque. It used to be 6 choices rather than the 4. It was very fun to play back then, not RNG like now.

The auto pecker 400 is still in the game you can actually be lucky to get it when you are polymorphing in the gvg map

I believe the skeleton card was part of the old Sylvanas. She used to be a 5-mana 5 5 and her battlecry was "Draw 5 skeletons". This is all according to a Kripp video about legacy cards.

Kind of a boring video. Don't know if you'd take advice from a random stranger with no videos, but Ill give it a go. You need a bit more commentary. More than it was removed from alpha or beta. Get some music that makes people want to stay and listen. It gets a little boring otherwise. Otherwise I liked the content of the video.

I think Hearthstone should make a tavern brawl where they bring back some of these cards, namely the ones that affect gameplay itself, like auto-pecker 4000 or worldflipper X-50 etc. As tavern brawls aren't meant to be taken seriously, I think this would make for a fun nostalgic brawl.

Wow,i did not know but apparently I played heartstone while it was in alpha. I vividly remember playing a trash zoolock that ran the 2/2 pintsized summoner,my classmate looked at it and said "Have you put it in your deck? Interesting"

auto pecker is still able to be reached in a way, if you find the map where you blast rocket into space with the laser, on pc you press d to open and close the door in the top right. if spammed enough like legit a LOT, auto pecker will be there

The pecker 4000 and the Worldflipper cards *need* to be brought back! They should also make similar cards, that enforces a fun/random aspect of the game rather than one following the meta once again.

Would have been fun if instead of "however this was taken out and replaced with this" you could have analyzed a bit WHY the card was taken out. I don't mean autopecker or Devouring Ooze, but for example you could have opened a bit why the mana spring totem is a bit OP. Anyone can see these cards and info on HS wiki.

I never played wow so if this is a dumb question I'm sorry. But after watching the old CGI trailer for the wrath of the Litch King I got to wondering if we'd ever see him in Hearthstone? He looks so badass. I'd even like to see him as a hero even.

Seems to me some of these were removed cuz their effects were too similar to effects found in MTG, like the one to deal damage to an opponent based on the cards they hold and other to heal yourself for the amount of cards you hold. Among others
