Rarran looks at hearthstone's newest expansion festival of legends! You should watch me live on Twitch: / rarran ▶Discord: / discord ▶Twitter: / rarranhs ▶TikTok: / rarranhsyt Edited by: no one #Hearthstone #Rarran #HS
I like to think the DK legendary increases one of the numbers on the card text by 1 for each corpse you spend (deal 6 damage, summon 4 3/2 souls, just as an example)
Was just about to say this. For each corpse spent one of the digits randomly increases so it could 6 damage summon 2 1/1s after a single corpse spent. Or 5 damage 3 1/1 or 5 damage 2 2/2
@@tomhoffs8209 While I think your right I hope your wrong because more chaos is fun And the highlight of someone dealing 5 and getting a 30/1 or some bullshit would be hilarious
"Priest" being "Pop" is fucking hilarious to me, cause in some languages (like mine, Serbian, and probably a bunch of other Slavic ones), the word "Pop" is the word we use for the "Pope". So if that was also a language pun, I love it.
It is because of Pop-Music. The genre anyone that engages with music is usually aware of. Sorry to break it but its unintended. Tho its funny that without context the whole genre of Pop-Music is like Pope Music in slavic languages. And it definately aint gregorian chants.
@@DjTrustNo.1 I think they meant that the reason they made priest be pop instead of giving it to another class (personally I feel like pop and classic for priest and warlock should be switched) is the language joke
Imo they went more for "how would these characters play music" instead of just a funny pun and a warlock commanding their demons through orchestra makes a lot more sense at least to me.
honestly kinda sad there isn't rap for any of the classes, especially sense they could've given it to rogue or demon hunter because of how fast both there playstyle can be, and rap being extremely fast in general, not saying the ideas they where given are bad it just would've been cooler in my opinion.
Hay Rarren letting you know that Finale triggers when you play the card and you have zero mana afterwards. So if you say for the sake of experience as Priest on turn Four you Heropower a minion and then cast Power Chord: Synchronize it would trigger the Finale effect. The same would go for Ghost Writer if you use Heropower on Turn 7. So basically it is "if you play this card as your last card on curve get X bonus affect"
2:42 Apparently, it upgrades: A) The amount summoned B) The Attack stat C) The Health Stat D) The actual damage of the spell Picking one of the 4 at random every time you spend a corpse. This is based on what I've seen and hear tho.
@@kornelparoczai1763 they were thinking much more then just surface level "haha disco almost sounds like discard" and I think disco is much more clever for paladin since a key part of the aesthetic of disco is literally a light in the dark. A shining disco ball that spreads it's light through a dark room invigorating everyone it shines on with positive and upbeat energy.
This looks awesome. Watching your videos got me back into hearthstone since I quit maybe a few months after release so I’ve never actually been a part of a new set launch
My guess is that 'randomly improved' means that for each Corpse spent this game, either the damage is one higher (think Sire Denathrius), the number of Souls is one higher (since it's a number) or the stats of the Souls is one higher (think Relic of Phantasms). So, for example, if I played this after spending 10 Corpses, it could: - Deal 15 damage, and summon 2x 1/1 Souls; - Deal 5 damage, and summon 2x 11/11 Souls; - Deal 8 damage, and summon 7x 3/3 Souls; Or anything splitting the +10 across the numbers on the card
We see later in the announcement talk when they cast the spell 3 souls that are 6/7s spawn. so if you spend 10 you could get something like - Deal 15 damage, and summon 2x 1/1 Souls; - Deal 5 damage, and summon 2x 6/6 Souls; - Deal 8 damage, and summon 7x 3/1 Souls;
i think the paladin spell is meant to replace specific parts of cariel hero but get rid of others. It doesn't really work to extend paladin's health pool like the Immovable Object, as opponents will just ping the shield. However, it is actually even better than that weapon at making hero attacks a board control tool - like a candleshot but with probably much higher attack and therefore more removal capability.
The DK legendary spell increases by each corps spent probably like this: randomly either increases damage or number of souls or states from 1/1 to 2/2 and so on. But since it is random it can drop on one multiple times. If you spend 10 corpses and all of it drops on damage you can use that spell to deal 15 damage and summon 2 1/1 souls which is very dangerous if it drops too many time on damage.
@@GKplus8 that sounds like a very powerful card but it is really not cause u need to burn a lot of corpses for it to be of much use and that is not easy to do in rainbow deck.
These are the kinds of expansions I love the most in hearthstone, ones with really unique and wacky themes to them. Last ones we got like it really was Scholomance Academy.
Deathknights weapon seems pretty good because it will improve just by using it to kill minions. Atleast that's how it should work according to the text.
mad respect dude, I don't know how you can push out so much quality content in such short amount of time! I love your content, please make sure to take care of yourself aswell
3:25 For each corpse spent: +1 lifesteal, 1+ soul or +1/+1 on souls. So having spent 15 corpses it CAN deal 10 and summon 4 7/7s; or you highroll the lifestal boardclear (18) and only get 2 3/3s
Reminder that finale doesn't lock you out of playing cards, so decks with mana cheat will be able to capitalize on them with 0c cards after playing finale
also, rogue will be able to cast a finale card, and then refresh mana crystals, and then do more because the text just requires you to spend your remaining mana-it doesn't say anything about generating more.
As a music obsessive, this is a firm "yes" from me. The new Priest keyword opens up so many possibilities, and cheap heal cards are gonna get so much more value, it's nuts. Zero/one mana five damage pings. Like... what?
At the very least Power Chord: Synchronize will be played as an extra Zulra in wild. 2 Mana add a copy of a minion to your hand with possible upside and not taking board space will eventually find a combo.
The priest spell seems good. Turn three, add a 3/5 radiant element to hand and have a 3/5 on board. We already know “Seance” effects in Priest makes nutty content.
Dude that priest overheal dude, imagin overhealin like 3-4 times. Like trade a 1/4 and use Hero power on your dude deal 5 damage to enemy hero. Sounds like there could be some wild stuff. Also damage him with ur owns spell then heal again. Cool. As a dude who lives and dies for music and also loves Hearthstone, this is the most pumped i've been for an expansion since I don't know when.
The music theme for each class are actually pretty clever, some of my favorites are... Rogue/Hip Hop: Miracle Rogue basically, so next time you get hit by a 15/3 weapon on turn 5 you gotta play Rap God by Eminem. Warlock/Classical: Evil mastermind listening to a classical piece while explaining how "It was I all along" DK/Metal: Death metal, that's the joke. Priest/Pop: We all pretend like we hate it and it's cringe, but secretly we have some songs on a private playlist.
This is definitely something I wasn't expecting... last year the first expation was my favorite, I really liked Sunken City, I hope this is as good as Sunken City was...
lol dude I am beyond hyped for this expansion. Can we just talk about new keywords for a sec? They always come up with flavorful explanations. The reason for 'finale' is just so freaking cool.
Some really cool (design) ideas in there, it's something really different. On the flip side, if feels like this is going to be hell on what is left of balancing in the game..........
I think if there’s any way to bring hearthstone back, it’s a fun engaging expansion like this. It’s a great idea to represent a certain genre of music with each class, so hopefully we’ll see a more diverse meta
Was really hoping for good b-dk cards, so far i want to cry. Rainbow dk spell is basically denathrius 2.0, and i forgor that rouge needed even more manacheat. Considering current +- fast meta, finale cards are mostly bad UNLESS you have manacheat, at which point they are insane. So, here we go again with endlessly meta rouge again playing 20 cards on for a grand total of 2 mana.
imagine knowing how to read when you're 5 years old amirite ? Card is still pretty good though, I suppose they'll shove a ridiculously OP overheal archetype down our throats to promote the new keyword and nerf it after a couple weeks.
What seems a little disappointing to me is that from how they showed it the Dissonant cards aren't gonna get a noticably different second artwork :( But otherwise the theming here looks really, really good.
@@Welcomingpotato I clarified my comment, what I meant are _noticably_ different artworks. The differences here are marginal at best, it's the same characters in roughly the same composition. If you told me they were two different drafts for the exact same card I'd believe you. Especially when looking at them in your hand they're gonna look almost exactly the same.
I wonder how finale works with 0 cost cards (from reductions) because that or cards adding mana letting you trigger multiple finales might be gross Also can't wait for the wronchi reveal
One amalgam band is absolutely the most interesting card. Seeing a pandarian face on that card implies only one thing. The pandarian minion type joining hearthstone in the next year rotation, year of the turtle with return to pandaria!
The DK legendary is awkward since you can't run the Unholy cards that have most of the corpse spending mechanics (Bonehollow, etc). You can't run corpse explosion either. Corpse Bride has no rune requirement and spends up to 10 corpses so that would be good to run with the legendary
If I learned anything from watching Rarran's year of the gryphon review, mana cheating is really good. That along with Rarran's key catch phrase "get boned"
Blizzard: We don't wanna rainbow DK to be a thing. ~Also Blizzard: Here, a rainbow DK card. ~~The "randomly" on the card refers that sometimes it improves the damage, sometimes it improves the stats of the 2 minions summoned...
First time commenting, and subbed recently, i have to say played out hearthstone early years but damn the way you approach the game and how much fun ideas you bring is really mindboggling. Love the content and thanks for the laughs and giggles in general friend
Finale seems pretty simple, just play curvestone. Only downside is you can do one once per turn (assuming you don't get mana back somehow after spending it all)
This expansion seems very well thought out. Anyone else feel like recent expansions just lacked flavor? Obviously the death knight one had lots of undead and such but it all just seemed like our favorite indie developers slapped the undead tag on a bunch of stuff. All these cards being music themed is so cool. Finale seems like a great keyword. The cards seem playable without the finale bonus if you just need the value before you spend all your mana, but I agree with the notion that Finale lends itself to aggressive decks who likely spend all their mana every turn anyways.
I remember when warlock was the class people played if they liked being the bad guy but now that demon hunter and death knight are out I guess their like "yes warlock is the perfect class for classical music" lol
Immediately seeing a mana cheat card crushed my hope they would improve on that in the future. If those cards aren't a problem immediately, they will be in a few months. Can Blizzard just stop with the mana cheat already?
I mean. We will see how it goes but for now this expension seems cool... but not like strong cool but really really cool for once. It just seems fun. Atleast for now!
