Many streamers have bad predictions... but trump is just the king of all. He just never gets it right. The most funny part is that the cards he understimates are usually the cards that shake the meta xD Next time i will know what cards i will build around my deck... i'll just check trumps video, pick the 1 star raitings and build decks around it.

mattzerofire dinomancer has potential to be bad shit insane, like a frozen core felsteed, the problem is the required set-up for that. just like my deck of infinite value, with rogue in wild, elise 5/5 gang up, return to your hand pandas and rogue cards and shit lot of taunts and draw to survive, then, let the pack opening begin!

People have ended up not even running it in the discardlock decks at all though. Even the more control versions don't run it.

Most of the time Cairne is better and even he doesn't see play outside of N'Zoth decks.

Good in theory, but it's not that good in practice. It's difficult to discard a really good minion, and so the likelihood of you getting something good from the card is not that high.

mattzerofire I don't completely agree with you there. The reason dinomancer is bad is because the lack of consistency with the discard mechanic, and if the mechanic that a card is based around is bad then the card itself is also inherently bad. It's like saying primalfin champion wouldn't be a bad card if quest paladin was good. True... but if a card is made redundant because it's sole purpose was to support a deck that turned out bad then it is also going to be worthless

Tim Neve the big problem with trump is as most other streamers look at the cards individually trump tries to think up how the meta as a whole will change and predict how well the cards will do based off of that. do I think he should look at the cards as their own more? yes but at the same time I like hearing how he thinks up decks and how they will work before the expansion comes out

Don't know if it would vary alot or not, but is shouldn't.) I don't love Trump, but I think he is a great youtuber. His reviews tend to be quite good, taking off for some meta offshots (Priest sees no play in Un'goro, or that the Goons would be very powerfull) but all in all he can make great calls (Patches and the whole crew were guessed by him for example)

In the Un'Goro metagame, it saw quite a lot of success in Token Druid until it got removed in favor of Vicious Fledgling. If you watch Trump Reviews Trump Reviews Un'Goro, he mentions this. This video was actually made around the same time that Aggro Druid lists were being refined. @MystiCalBEING89: It doesn't see play now because it's two full expansions later.

I never understood why the hunter quest would b good. I always thought if you miss one raptor ur just getting a shitty one drop on turn 6+ when you have no cards in your hand because they all costed 1 mana.

I did the same thing with the Mage quest and felt equally sad. Warrior quest would at least be a more consistent option.

It's to hard to control the Rng with the discard to make cruel dinomancer decent. Most of the time it either summons nothing or summons a 2/2 at best.

Are you talking about wild or in standard? In standard warlock is only playbale as a smorq class. In wild, things are to busted for dinomancer.

Or maybe he couldn't connect the pieces? You got to remember that at the time only two types of decks were being thought up, being Quest Priest and Vanilla Priest. Not a lot of people tend to think outside of this mindset, and as both of those decks ended up not being the best it was fair of him to rate it one star.

By this point IMO I'm pretty sure he's just playing a character and generating views. The meta is hard to predict, but he's been getting it so wrong every expansion; the reverse of his "predictions" are so much more accurate that it can't be all real.

His viewership is gradually realizing this as well about Trump. He used to average 20k viewers back in the day per stream, but now he struggles to get past 8k. Disguised Toast is beating him in terms of audience size and that guy is more about memes than serious Hearthstone. Trump is a great teacher for beginners of the game, I feel, but once you get past that level you realize there's really nothing else you can get out of the guy.

I don't watch his livestreams, but personally I still really like his youtube videos. I love his calm attitude.

that's not true... in the gadgetzan meta before un'goro dragon priest was definitely a thing. The issue was most of the dragon priest cards were rotating out so everyone thought that priest wasn't going to be viable because they couldn't think of a decent priest deck to play. People also didn't expect stonehill defender to be good which slowed down the meta helping out priest.

That is Trumps way to review cards. He said that every other streamer rates them as a standalone, so if you want to do that, you can just watch the other predictions.

I personally agree with Trumps method, anyone can look at a card and say whether it's objectively a good card or not. The real challenge is predicting how much it will be used in the meta. Take Frost Lich Jaina for example. Anyone can look at that card and say it's amazing, It takes a lot of insight about the game though to predict it wouldn't work out in the meta.

comparativly to other 8 cost cards, it is a bit weak overall. although it does have its niche uses.

niche uses? are you nuts? - Every late stage standard deck that isn't Jade Shaman or Gunther Mage uses it - Is the only dragon of the set YET is still more played than any other dinosaur ( well played un'goro) - Everyone was jizzing their pants about Kalimos and ( although the effect/mana is higher) is still less reliabl than dumb drake - It has no requirement, you draw it and you play it. - If you have some 9 drops in hands, chances are that you still wanna play "skill drake"

The moment i saw P-drake i knew it was fucking busted, i compared it to the 6 mana 2/3 murloc deal 2 to all non murlocs that saw some play in curator decks, and i immediately knew that card would be fucking broken consider curator comes out on 7 followed up by a curve p drake

It's also good with the Curator in Taunt Warrior, because it is the only dragon in that deck so you are guaranteed to draw it

Because after his famous series of fails with calling Dr.Boom and later Grim Patron to be both bad we just want to see how much he fails again and again every expansion. Going so far in his arrogance to call Blizzard's internal testing team's work "ludicrous." In fact at this point one might want to stop and think that maybe Trump is actually saying the opposite hat he really thinks just for the sake of retaining viewers by creating all this drama around himself.

ProtonCannon to be fair, a LOT of people called Dr. Boom bad, and he got Patches, which a lot of people didn't get. Still don't think his reviews are the best, and honestly you shouldn't depend on any reviews to determine meta game because they're ALWAYS wrong, like very rarely are they right.

Lyra was obvious to be good, effects that make you not to lose hand advantage are already good, just look at the current yugioh meta, almost every card replacesitself in your hand when you play it and decks that can't do that are shit tier.

When people were evaluating Lyra, or any other card, they were taking into account only the current state of the game and Priest was really bad. I bet people will make the same mistake about Warlock cards next expansion.

I think streamers sometimes judge the cards too separately. Ignoring the posible synergies is the biggest mistake when judging the cards. Yeah Nether Portal is good but can it really be played with discard mechanics? No. Same with Barnabus, Mage quest, Kaleidosaur, Shaman Quest, etc.

Zyzarda Eggnapper sees play in Aggro Druid and Razorleaf is a very strong card in Silence Priest which has a really good winrate but which we don't see often cause, like ALL Priest decks, it requires $$$.
