it's not that you're not good trump, but you arent creative and innovative enough to stay ahead of the game. You're always sticking to the tried and tested, and never let your creative juices flow.

So weird, I counted the cards in the deck...theoretically Trump had the potential to play 19 beast minions with his deck, and there were only 4 cards that had effects requiring a beast to be in play. But with how often he had his Houndmasters and Ram Wranglers in his hand with no beasts, you'd have thought those numbers were reversed or something. Bad luck, I'd say. Edit: Forgot when he put in huge toad after a few games, so that is 21 beasts.

I highly recommend Elven Archer's Dog. It's such a good beast-synergy enabler.

I think the one thing hunter needs now to be a truly respected class is a more reliable board clear. Unleash the hounds may as well be a more versatile arcane explosion except when knife juggler is on the board in which case it's halfway worth it unless the RNG fails you and explosive trap can be easily played around. We need a hunter card like flamestrike or concecrate that's more reliable. If you really want hunter flavor to be preserved i'd throw something like this out there (insert name here, probably something to do with bears) 5 mana spell summon a 2/2 bear with charge and taunt for each minion the opponent controls. They cannot attack players. That's just the thing I came up with after a couple seconds of thought. I know hunter can be made into something more than just a non stop aggro joke.

The problem with Ram Wrangler is that you won't get the "average" stats. Mean, Median, and Mode do not accurately express the card. The reason being that the majority of beasts are 4 mana or less and usually below average to terrible for their stat value. Whereas a few 5+ mana beasts are a great big pile of stats with even less of those piles of stats having an upside. So those skew the numbers heavily. For some fun though, let's talk about some edge things with this card! 1: This card can pull not just from Druid, there are two other minions that are exclusive to other classes. Pit Snake, and Fierce Monkey. The later of which is pretty above average for the card. 2: The Old Gods actually improves Ram Wrangler! You end up with an addition of 3 well above average cards and 4 of the 4 mana and below ones. However, Carrion Grub is one of these and is about good value for it's stats. You also have a chance of Druid's buff card, making the order of operations correct to play Ram first. The end result is more heavily skewed towards good cards than before, even though one of them is just a split 5/8. 3: Standard does you no favors. You miss out on King of Beasts and Maexxa, while only giving up Webspinner and Haunted Creeper. Basically, even sets that break even on good-bad cards will improve the range for Ram Wrangler. And of the "bad" cards to get Webspinner and Haunted Creeper are some of the best.

average stats of the beasts available via Ram Wrangler (including Captain's Parrot (until that set is finally fully rotated out, you can't use the cards in standard decks, but you can still get them through random effects until they finally rotate it fully out)) are 3.42/3.36. As for number of good cards that can be gotten compared to total # of available beasts, just stat/effect-wise (6+ total stats/good non-battlecry effects), 34/50 (if you count situational cards like Dire Alpha Wolf, Pit Snake, Scavenging Hyena, Addled Grizzly, Jungle Moonkin, Emperor Cobra, Acid Maw, Dreadscale and The Beast as good cards to get, if not, 25/50)

Ram Wrangler is a 3/3 for 5. In order for it to be AVERAGE, it needs to spawn a 2/3 - but if you 'only' summon a 2/3 (or 5 total stats), you're behind on tempo - it's worse than Silver Hand Knight. For it to not be a worse Silver Hand Knight, you basically have to summon at LEAST 6 points worth of stats. So let's do the math, assuming that there's an equal chance of each possible beast to show up. There are 42 beasts available to hunters. 15 of them have more than 6 stats. 7 of them have exactly 6 stats, but many of them are 'vanilla'. That leaves 20 cards which would make the result WORSE than Silver Hand Knight. And in order to activate it, you have to already have a beast on board. It's a "win more" card; if you're ahead, you have a 35% chance of getting proper value in terms of stats, and it's not a disaster if you don't. If you're behind, it's so bad tempo that you'd be better off playing Silver Hand Knight. But it gets worse: Depending on the situation, there aren't that many of the 'good' cards which actually help you if you're behind. At 8 mana, it'll help you to get Acidmaw + Unleash, for instance, but you don't even run that. If you're behind against zoo and get Acidmaw, you're screwed. Dreadscale has negative synergy with Infested Wolf. Tundra Rhino is decent, but the only animal it'll give charge of any value, is itself. The only beasts which can reliably be said to be game deciding when dropped on 5 or 6 mana through ram wrangler, are Savannah, Crush, Mukla's Champion, sometimes Cobra, taunts (in a pinch) - which there are two of - and 10-stat++ minions. You're left with a total of 13 cards. Out of 42. That's a 1/3 chance of getting a card which can help you catch up if you're behind, or close the game if you're ahead. And still a 48% chance of getting crap. You know what's better than that as a 5-drop? Stranglethorn Tiger, Fen Creeper, Harrison Jones, Mukla's Champion, Saraad, Pit Fighter, Psych-o-Tron, Silver Hand Knight, and Stampeding Kodo. Yes, all of those are better 5-drops than Ram Wrangler. The loss of Webspinner, King of Beasts, Gahz'rilla, Lost Tallstrider, Haunted Creeper and Maexxna has made this card SIGNIFICANTLY worse.

Even unbuffed C'Thun is insane. Avenging Wrath deals 8 damage split among all enemies for 6 mana. C'Thun does 6 but also gives a 6/6 for 10 mana.

I have a tweaked version of this deck that I think is actually better. You don't need to run this much early game, I have zero one drops. Hunter doesn't need to win in the early game with the insane card quality that is Call of the Wild and Highmanes. Throw Sylvanas + Huhuran and Infested Wolf + Ram Wrangler in there for great synergy and N'Zoth for a finisher and you have so much late game power I don't think any other deck can really match it. Absolutely amazing.

9:15 Bat knows where the place is!

I run snake trap, bear trap instead of early game minions because they usually come into play after your opponent has called his attacks, so you're almost guaranteed a board. It's pretty much the only chance hunters has at wining the early game against shit like the new zoolock. King's ellek is also a lot better with no other early game minions in the deck. For me he gets draws almost every time, especially against aggro. Also Carrion Grub and Infested wolf make getting houndmaster and ram wrangler value easy as pie.

44:33 don't need to concede yet. Just trade 2/4 into highmane and play highmane. Opponent doesn't have lethal on board or a way on board to clear highmane without taking damage. Still have a chance at winning this game.

I'd replace Injured K'valdir and the camel and one of the ram wranglers for more board control. Deadly shot and Dreadscale perhaps

he never lived to n'zoth, injured camel never seemed to help that much, call of the wild might be too slow, and ram wrangler might not be able to pull enough good things, but idk

Ram wrengler needs to be at most 1 of. Kill command might need to be reduced as well. Juggle is a bit random. "just a dark bomb" is not bad here I don't think. unleash is hugely underestimated. I think this has potential, and from what I have seen in this video these changes might help (all are just my opinion!!)

I played against NightKnight once. I remember because I said to my friend "I guess you could say night-night to NightKnight" after I beat him. Might not be the same guy though.

This deck is like all minions. Needs a little bit of control power to pull off midrange. At least a bow and an AOE like Powershot or Explosive Shot. Maybe put the Quickshots back in. Camels, Kvaldir and Wranglers can go. N'Zoth can stay on as an honorary include.

You need some more fast answers. In manz games Powershot would have been great or even multishot or explosiveshot. Maybe even one deadly shot for dealing with the really big stuff, if you really want to make a hunter control deck.

The curve on that is pretty high for a midrange hunter, two call's, two wranglers AND Sylvanas is a very greedy list. If this was curved way lower and did not include camel (zoo) then the list would be solid
