It's not that they are bad in Scotland it's just that they are bitter cheats and can't even cheat their way to glory with big Ange at the helm 🍀 look up a video on RU-vid titled, Anyone but Celtic.. it gives a good insight into the corruption over the year's.
I hope the SPFL watched the referring standard in this game and saw the ruined opportunity to use this game as a great advertisement for the Scottish game. It was a bloody shambles and really detracted from what was an amazing roller coaster of a game.
I think it wasn't given on the basis that the player was trying to remove his hands and it was an accident (ball was close, no chance to move them away). For me it's more mystifying that the penalty was retaken for the goalie moving when the rebound was scored. I guess it'll take time for officials to get used to var
ooops, forgot to mention the Ralston "Goal " The ref initially was calling it off-side, but on finding out his linesman hadn't called it he manoeuvred his call to appear as a foul, hence no goal, so this call was bad refereeing,
Come off it man! Celtic have had many wrong refereeing decisons go in their favour against Hearts in the past. John Guidetti's "penalty" springs to mind! I bet you weren't complaining then! I'm a Hearts fan and at the end of the day you won fair and square but I can't understand why Celtic are always the victim even in victory!

@@Jie67 I used the John Guidetti penalty as a comparison and it came to mind straight away as i will always remember that! At the time the replays showed there was absolutely no contact at.all. You scored from a penalty you should never have had. We were only 1 down at the time and well in the game and that goal killed it, and of course the usual crap by the reporters said we were thrashed. That's how I remember it! Your penalty claim for handball from Smith was one that could go either way. It happened so quick and it's an instinctive reaction. I would have understood if it was given as I have seen them given.
@@Renegade_rm56 the arm is outstretched, needs to be closer to the body. even the player knows its a handball quickly puts his arm in and acts like it wasnt a handball.

Ive been really impressed by him , hes neat and tidy with simple things but in a clever way , hes not fast but hes aware , probably his age and experiance , i can see a few nice goals from him for sure.
Am a livi fan and heart 1st pen is not a pen. Its a 50/50 no ones in control of the ball and its not a goal scoring opertunity and its the hearts player tht goes in with his stud up proving even more he hes no control of the ball
It's so hard to see. Devlin looks like he gets to the ball first, which then hits off Carter-Vickers' foot, then the contact is made with Devlin. In the heat of the moment, I thought it was a penalty, but this looks like another error...
We've had VAR for 5 or 6 years here in Australia. I've seen some dodgy decisions in that time, but that game takes the cake for stuff-ups. And to the Celtic defenders, encroaching at pens just gives the taker a double chance with VAR.
This is nothing compared to what goes on in other leagues. That said, Devlin's penalty was not clear and obvious in real time, he got to the ball a microsecond earlier. VAR ruins football when used to nitpick instead of correcting blatant errors. The other penalty shout was ball-to-hand in real time, excellent call.
@@mudchair16 ball to hand? he clearly moved his arm towards the ball. you can see by his reaction that he knew what he had done. that check on var took 10 secs for them to decide yet the 1st hearts penalty took them over 2mins and that was clearly a penalty. 1st time i watched a replay on the tv it was clear. how they took ver 2 mins is beyond me
@@mudchair16 There is no ball-to-hand in the rules. You don't even have to move your arm towards the ball. If the ball hits an arm away from the body and the ball wouldn't have hit the body if the arm wasn't there then it's a pen. The iFAB rules pdf contains a diagram showing a defender with his arm a fraction away his body as a pen. That's why AP was laughing because of any pen situation that's the easiest to get right. Devlins pen depended on the camera angle, so it wasn't clear-cut obvious and shouldn't have been referred to the ref. Plus, according to one commentator, there was a foul in the lead up to one of the pens. VAR is required to review the complete sequence of play. So if there was a missed foul the pen shouldn't have been awarded. A couple of the yellow cards weren't even fouls.
You've got to laugh at the irony of this when everyone knows Aberdeen only play 4 games a season every single year when they meet Rangers. Welcome to our world.

@@sec5579 well I’ve pointed out the short term disparity, surely more pertinent to any upcoming fixtures, with goals scored also a fairly reasonable measure of effort through the game. I mean even as a rangers fan yourself, you have to laugh at the fact Hearts have scored more goals against Celtic in 20 minutes of actual game time than they have against rangers in over 5 matches.
@@comicalhorrorpix There is no short term disparity. The last 5 games you mentioned I believe Aberdeen have taken points off Celtic once and taken points off Rangers twice. The amount of goals they scored is irrelevant.
@Ange Ball Great point. I'm surprised that nobody else seems to have mentioned it, at least, as far as I can see. His foot is a couple of feet off the ground and he's leading with his studs which means free-kick to Celtic. Except in Scotland, notwithstanding the fact that the referee can watch the encounter as often as he wants to determine his decision. CCV's foot is not raised towards his opponent, studs first, but Devlin's IS. It's a no-brainer if you know the Laws of the Game (and SPFL referees MUST know those Laws in order to be qualified.) Therefore the only logical explanation is that there's an anti-Celtic agenda at play. Let's not even start on the blatant handball.
I dont see why the first one is a penalty, its a 50/50, both players with the same stretched out leg, how can you possibly call it a foul either way? both players done the exact same thing and the ball is going nowhere, extremely harsh imo, ref called it correctly first time
@@jackjones1249 by what, 2 hundredths of a second? both players were entitled to go for it, the fact that one player touch the ball first with no control over it should be irrelevant, the hearts player never has control the ball, did the exact same leg motion as the defender, how does he deserve a penalty?
@@SumoCumLoudly Is that not what VAR is there for, to see things the naked eye cant, so it dosent matter if its 2 hundreds of a second, the decision will always go with who touched the ball first and VAR will give that as a penalty every time. I would be more concerned with why the hand ball wasnt giving.
@@jackjones1249 theres no decision to make, both players fairly go for the ball, neither gains control of it, getting an outstretched toe to touch the ball first isnt the same as winning the ball I wouldnt be giving penalties for the handball either, it was far too close to do anything about it, although by the new bs rules it probably is a pen
This referee is a rangers youth team coach, I kid you not , only in Scotland is this allowed , it's an absolute farce , I know in the last 3 seasons alone rangers have been awarded 77 penalties to Celtics 3
Although it was a thoroughly entertaining game, it was a pure mess with all the VAR calls, retakes and other decisions... Well-fought out for the three points ⚽
I know the no announcers thing is probably a rights issue. And to be frank, we probably all knew the result before we watched the highlights. But SPFL, can't you put some graphics for context: goal scorers' names, time remaining, that sort of thing? Seems it would make the UX a lot better.

The lines on the screen for VAR’s offside ruling look a bit skew-wiff to me. Bottom of the screen line adjacent with the halfway line compared to whats happening when you follow it up the screen to other side of the pitch, looks like it tapers differently. So is Abada therefore onside? Mibee an optical illusion 🤷🏻♀️ Tough one to call i’d say.
VAR laughable on all counts, if it’s only going to help the refs make more “honest mistakes” than right decisions, what’s the point of it. Main training point for refs is to not blow early. Nick Walsh understanding the rule, tactically blows as quick as he can to stop Celtic being awarded a perfect goal. No comment on the handball. Hilarious. They tried their best to shaft Celtic but came up short. Celtic fans had valid fears about the use of VAR, and those using it, and nothing happened in its very first Celtic match, to quell any of those fears
Abada's "offside goa"l? Where did those lines come from? This wasn't broadcast live during the game. Also, where is Ralston's perfectly good goal on these "Highlights"?
first penalty, Devlin with studs on show, wrong decision, Next, Celtic penalty Claim, not even considered??, others I'm not gonna say yay or nay, but the 5th Celtic goal? If you have the know-how, you can figure out how to draw a parallel line from the centre line and this WAS on-side.. remember, only any part of the body that can legally score a goal can be considered ""off-side"... i.e, no extended arm can be declared off-side. a toe or an ear or even a NOSE CAN be offside, but if this was electronically checked from MY measurements he was on-side by 250-500mm.. VAR messed up here.. I think a review from VAR and an admission from the operator should follow .. this technology was NOT used correctly.. the operator was wrong. Using maths, trigonometry and my own devices I was able to verify my findings.. Very disappointing

Players need to retrain themselves if VAR is here to stay. That first Hearts penalty could have been avoided if CCV had pulled out at the last second. Players need to recognise when the ball is going nowhere and pull out of a tackle in the box. Easy for me to say but needs so work in training to recognise these situations. The right team won here despite the best efforts of the "van video warriors" and the ref. VAR is providing the proof that it's a useless system that does one thing and one thing only - costs clubs money.
FFS, the level of refereeing in this match was pathetic to say the least! Either incompetent or accepted a bribe. No way one can see these decisions if they know football rules!
@@elastotec173 It wasn't even unnatural: unintentional hand balls will only be a penalty if the ball is going into goal, or through to another attacker for a clear goalscoring opportunity, unless the ball is blasted at close range and the defender can't get out of the way, in which case, ball played man is still relevant

Unbelievable biased refereeing - two penalties against Celtic, a stone cold hand ball by Hearts in the penalty box, a studs up tackle against CCV given as a penalty and multiple disallowed goals against Celtic - this does not happen by accident.
Whear are VAR drinking cup of tea it's a penalty it was the intention for the player to touch the ball 8 referee for one game and still make silly mistakes
