To be fair, the game is somewhat okay, but there are a lot of gripes I'm GOING to have. The mechanics look quite nice, but the gunplay, from only 25 or so minutes in, looks like just kicking the gun back instead of giving actual, feel-able recoil. I see the potential in having the ability to magnetize items to you and throw metallic objects up and down. Oh, and I saw you having problems with your machine gun when trying to pull back the pistol's slide. Hitting people makes them bounce around for some reason. But I guess I can see the explanation for why things don't just die that easily, with the armor... being somewhat effective? There's also graphical... poor-ness and some bugginess here and there with... uh, grabbing on a full ammo belt. It also doesn't seem encouraged to use any other kinds of weapons, or at least, if there was, I don't think I saw you have any form of storage. Aside from hands. Apparently, just a pistol is all you need. And... much of the assets have some feeling of... unfitting-ness. I also have doubts there was gonna be any way to do stealth (ish?), so a Deus Ex Machina for the "goons" to have an alarm be set off just because you were on an elevator at the time is... uh. Lackluster for, for lack of better terms, when you think about it - especially with the ameture-ish charm (or forced charm). I also heard "hey! Who's there?" At least seven times. Instead of anything new. Or generally garbled, hard-to-hear speech for when talking isn't nearly as important. I truly don't expect them to try and explain away all the poor quality stuff. And if you don't like my gripes, okay, sorry that I had 'em. But I did like the moment where a guy just SLAMS into the railing from the sewers.
As I feared: It didn't get much better. The amateurs-in-professional-positions tone is not at all charming. It's forced. And the quality in graphical departments were worse. I do recognize that YES, THIS IS EARLY ACCESS (according to the title), but. I'm just hoping things get better when it gets fully out... just hoping. I don't want to end up with a HellSign situation, in which people are running away with the money or the game never gets finished because they somehow went bankrupt, leaving us with very little. And no, I don't hope for the whole thing to end up as being this whole meta-simulation or whatever with everything being bad intentionally *because* it was designed by, uh, amateurs. *That would degrade the quality.*
All valid concerns. It took me a few tries to get all the way through it because of the bugs. But, there's already been one patch and I would assume many more to come. Let's hope that by the time the full game releases it's polished and fun to play with a good story. I'm very much rooting for the 2 devs (Peter and Riley).
As far as, "running away with the money or the game never gets finished" goes, one of the 2 devs is @peterfrance from @corridor. Peter couldn't be more of a stand up and just overall amazing person. I assure you that this game is being made with the best intentions. For $15 dollars, I will gladly support his first attempt at a VR game and rest easy knowing that he has the gamers best interest at heart. Cheers, Edward. I hope you enjoy watching the progress of this game. I know I will. 👍👊👉🍻
