Heartstopper Episode 1 Reaction! - "Meet" 

I love how he was like “I’m not against it but it’s not really my thing and at 15 mins he’s like “physical touch baby boy, it’s gettin serioussss” and I’m living for it

I love how everyone who reacted to the first episode goes “is that Olivia Colman?” with the exact same intonation when she first shows up. Everyone has the exact same reaction and it’s pretty cool.

I have never watched so many reactions for one show. Heartstopper has shown me reactors I've never heard of before. I have watched so many Heartstopper reactions and I don't plan on stopping any time soon.

"hopefully there's no drama" LMAO. The whole time I watched this show I kept cringing expecting everything to go to hell. It's sad that I am so programmed by shows and movies that I just automatically expect if it's gay then everything will go to absolute hell at some point.

This show will intoxicate you with cuteness. Can't wait.

I love that you give this show a try even though it's not your type of go-to-show normally. Your reaction still felt so normal and not forced, I really enjoyed it and I hope you'll react to the whole season :)

Schools in the UK often have a "House" system where you belong to an abstract group of students from different years that compete against the other "Houses" (basically Harry Potter) they're often based on important people or such from British history, so Hamlet being a Shakespeare play here. In my school, they were based on famous local people, and they had actual buildings for each House where all the members of the House would socialise. In the Heartstopper school, it seems they split them into "forms" under a teacher for registration at the start of the day and after lunch. There is some inconsistency later with the House system in episode 8 though.

The animated leaves are an homage to the graphic novel that’s its based on! I’m also a sucker for a good romance story; I think you’ll enjoy it!

What's funny is the joe Locke who plays Charlie and Sebastian who plays Ben have so much chemistry outside of the show that people are always debating if they are a real life couple.

So it's being marketed as a romcom but not exactly true. I thought I would hate this show because I hate romance. Even though it's completely fantasy for teenagers to be as emotionally self aware as the characters in the show are, what I love is that it's a show about healthy human relationship's more than romance.

Good point about the track direction. Can confirm we do usually do it the normal way. Maybe it was done that way because of the filming angles needed. Love that you're branching out to react to this - it really is for everyone

6:17 in almost all British schools, we have a house system, it’s split into 4 colours red, green, blue and yellow and at the end of the year the house with the most points wins smth (yes like Harry Potter). Sometimes if you change forms you change houses as well so I’m guessing bc he’s in a new form he changed houses.

A lot of people think there is a supernatural element in this show. Charlie's sister Tori seems to not interact with anybody other than Charlie and continues to magically appear and disappear at times.

The reason why Nick got a bunch of pen ink on his hands is because he was using a fountain pen. Fountain pens have a reservoir of liquid ink within the pen... And so if the pen breaks the ink goes fucking everywhere.

One of the things I found interesting in this episode is the direct juxtaposition of Nick saying hi to Charlie first and then Charlie saying Hey to Ben, only for him to freak out.
