I don't think it was a "problem", performing in stages can make you push harder than you usually do, and that can exhaust you easier. Also his combos look like it could make you feel tired pretty easily. Maybe with more time, he could've fixed all that and smashed it even harder
@@lifeisoverrated7167 Vocodah left the Swissbeatbox community. Because they earlier had a business relationship (By having Vocodah's videos on the Swissbeatbox channel, the owners of the channel can generate revenue off the video) Vocodah asked the channel to remove all of their videos.
I really don't get why he wouldn't want the video to be out even if swissbeatbox made a mistake by not having the security they should've, that doesn't make it's content worse or something i don't know, it's weird, I hope someone speaks up on this
I honestly cant wait to see heartzel improve even more. While yes there were errors in his performance and things like drymouth and the sound system were a huge issue, it was still an amazing act and it shows how much potential he has. ESSPECIALLY considering how little preparation he had. Cant wait to see whats next in store for him!!
Is anyone else uncomfortable with the reasoning that essentially states "the contestant was scored down points because our sound system couldn't handle their artistic style and the only way to improve this category is to be a different artist"? I know that's not what DLow was saying verbatim, but that's what I get from it... he's mentioned this in a few of his videos for lower-ranked contestants and has explained small ways that they could be scored down less for their style as opposed to ability, but there's no mention of a fix in the scoring method, audio setup, or optimal venue choice in the future. It seems strange that they should be scored down because their unique style doesn't translate well on a stage and that in order to score better they have to change their artistic style... Some of it, yes, is breath control, mic position and distance, consistency, etc... but a repeated point DLow has mentioned for several contestants was simply the artists' styles...
At the end of the day, these are live performers. Musicians. The best musicians can and do adapt their styles to the venue, and very few musicians get to be choosy about their venues. Consider a drummer at a few different gigs. One is a big concert hall. One is a small restaurant or bar. One is a session in a recording studio. The drummer would need to play quietly in the restaurant or bar, to keep form overwhelming a not-great sound system and disturbing people's conversations. If he played too low, that's not an "Oh, that's just his style" thing. That's a mistake. He'd need to play really crisp and clean in the studio, pay more attention to little details, and hit each note with just the right intensity to get the best sound out of each drum and cymbal. Not the _most_ sound. The best. Things like stick tricks and unnecessary movements are completely wasted, and run the risk of making unwanted sounds. Playing like it's a concert in a studio isn't just a style... it's a mistake. In the concert venue, with a huge stonking sound system pumping out 120 dB, and fans there specifically to see him and his band, he should really ham it up. Big movements, expressions, tricks, make the visual performance as dynamic as the musical one. It needs to be loud, and proud, even at the cost of a little less precision and sound quality. Playing softly like a jazz drummer in a dinner club at a metal concert wouldn't just be a style. It'd be a mistake. So what D-Low was saying (in my interpretation) isn't "They got scored down because our sound system wasn't up for their style." It's "When you play a live venue, it _matters_ how you actually sound _in_ that live venue. Certain beatboxers got lucky, and have styles that worked in this venue and on its sound system. Others got unlucky, and have styles that didn't. But the truly _great_ ones _adapt_ their styles _to_ the venue." Like Dan said, before he performs, he goes out and checks the sounds. If a certain type of sound just isn't working (let's say an inward k-snare) on that particular sound system, he doesn't just push into it harder... he swaps out the sound entirely to a punchier sound so that the people at that venue he's performing for can still enjoy his set. If an inexperienced beatboxer comes on stage, and either doesn't know to do that, or doesn't know how, or have the tools to adapt... should they still win the competition and be declared best in the world? I think not. No, the real problem is the 'lucky' ones, in my opinion... the ones who lack the experience or technique to adapt, but just happened to be in a venue that really communicated their style well, by chance. I'm not sure how to fix that, but when you're seeking the best, those ones are the troublesome outliers. TL;DR Style doesn't match + adapts to make it match = best-of-the-best. Passes correctly. Style doesn't match + doesn't know how to adapt = eliminated correctly. Style does match + _could_ adapt if it didn't = passes correctly. Style does match + could _not_ adapt if it didn't = passes _incorrectly._
I, along with some other comments, have suggested that there should be live and studio categories to solve the problem u mention. The thing is, sound systems just don't pick up airy sounds as effectively, like heartzel's favorite tongue whistle. We all know what he's capable of doing but it simply don't pass through the sound system so the audience could feel the hype. After all, enjoying music is intuitive. It's kinda hard to require the judges to ignore the final output and reverse everything back to the imaginary unplugged acoustic version.
Man i love heartzel, he's probably one of the best too but i really felt bad for him when he started losing his breath. But he still did an amazing performance!
I think he was really nervous too and that cost him some breath so he had lost a bit control over some sounds in the end btw I watched and loved all the analysis videos
From the moment I saw the heartzel wildcard, I knew he was going to be great. His inward bass is crazy!! It's amazing how he can do it so well! We look forward to seeing him on the GBB stage next year! Also, thanks for posting the D-low analysis videos! You have been posting them every day and I have been commenting on one every day. You are all great beatboxers💜🔥
Big respect for anyone that will jump in and fill a place on a day or two notice. He did great, it was just unfortunate that some of his intricate sounds didn't come through the sound system like you rightly pointed out.
I think hes best bet is to train with a mic and sound system more often. He prob isnt used to how his wistles will be effected by the mic and how far away to be.
ok, I just realized that now at the last elemination reaction, but the video placement and D-Low placement itself is kinda genius. It really feels like we're watching the video with him and not just watching someone reacting to it
Bro how could you dock somebody for not being able to listen to them through the crowd and the Mic its such bull shit to me n there's NO EXCUSE FOR IT. THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE WORLDS BEST COMPETITION AND YOU CAN'T FIGURE OUT A WAY TO GET A BETTER MICROPHONE AND A COMPATIBLE SOUND SYSTEM? is just not right. beatboxerS shouldn't have to fix their style or set to better fit or sound better heard in this atmosphere or this particular Mic n sound system! It ruins the whole spirit of a world competition which first and foremost SHOULD BE ABOUT EACH PERSON BRINGING THE BEST THEY HAVE TO GIVE AND BRINGing THEIR UNIQUE STYLE AND UNIQUE BEATS AND BE CONFIDENT THAT IT WILL ALL BE HEARD CLEARLY. Not to adapt to what can best be heard. Just makes me so mad because obviously this is going to better suit artist who have a more BASIC AND BASS BASED STYLE N THAT'S WEAK N PHONY. For example how is heartzell ever supposed to win if his BEST COULD NEVER BE HEARD "IN THAT ATMOSPHERE" ?? He has to dumb it down so it will be heard? Unique and new beatboxers are getting fukd. N you saying that you had to change your set and style to fit that stage is EXACTLY THE PROBLEM.
Yooo! This elimination was so absolutely SICK. This is in my top 16 for sure. I wish he had time to prepare, he'd definitely be a strong contender for top 16. He might've not been the most precise or the most of any category, but holy shit was that an absolute vibe, and the arsenal of sounds absolutely blew me away!
6:40 while failing his whistle « i think it’s the best beatboxer i’ve heard with whistles » D-koy who got the second best elim : « am i a joke to you? »
Dlow after your last video in GBB eliminations when you will show us all your rankings can you show us the overall ranking so we can see there real ranking too?
no trung bao messed up a lot in his performance hence he asked SBX to not upload it, trung uploaded a rendition of his elim on his channel if u wanna see
Such a talend beatboxer heartzel very hard beat sound effect but breath controll microphone controling mistake because all ggood vibes anergy lvl outstanding awesome boy❤
DLOW, I recommend you react to Dropical’s battle with Remix at the OBWC or his wildcard for the Beatbox to world 2021! This dude is absolutely insane 🔥
I love beatbox and you are one of the best but when it comes to being a judge on GBB y'all are doing a terrible job to the point of after 8 years I think I'm actually starting to dislike the GBB because it's starting to feel rigged or full of favoritism over actual skill. I thought y'all were better people then that but I guess I've been wrong most my life and need to realize who people really are deep down.
I am not a beatboxer. For me he sounds like Inertia. A little bit worse. But If for me Inartia number 1, so he is not 23 or lower.Mb 15-16, but not 23-25. Sounds so cool.
