AAAAAHHHHH just what I really needed. I watched another one but I am using a picture instead of a video so the other way didn't work (maybe it has to do with the effects and masks config the other way was missing). Anyway, thanks man!
Hi. New to Adobe Effects and I seem to have gotten this to work. Thanks for the amazing tutorial. One issue I can't figure out is that my displacement seems to stop at approximately 1:09 into my video and all I'm left with is the offset turbulence. Any thoughts on what could be causing this?
Hi there! Welcome! Glad you are diving into this fun and amazing world. Make sure the layer that you are using for the displacement is as long as the comp.. that’s usually the issue.
@@BryanHoltFX Thanks, Bryan. I'm absolutely loving After Effects (although it sometimes feels like I'm drinking from a firehose). Videos from fantastic creators like yourself are helping tremendously. I checked and the displacement layer is the same length of my comp, so that doesn't look to be the culprit. I'll keep poking around and hopefully find the cause. Thanks, again, for the tutorial. Will be watching a lot more of your content, for sure.
2:52 absolutly nothing happens when I put the displacement map. I did everything in the video step by step. If I could receive some help that would be great.
hey, i am stuck at step 2:03. I hold Alt down while clicking Evolution tab and no bar window pops up as in your video for me to change the time. What do I do? AE v2023 on Windows 10
What version of After Effects? And you are using the displacement map? If you do have at least Source, what you can do is precompose your fractal noise layer (move all attributes) and select that as your source it should work as a clean workaround!
This was done on a PC or Mac using Adobe After Effects. As software gets more and more mobile there are ways to accomplish effects. However if you are looking for finished/polished quality FX you will want to do these on a PC or Mac. I hope this helps! @@Muqadas22
