When you were talking about space aliens and you asked Mike where they come from he said "somewhere". He never said where. He might say "outer space". Ask him where "outer space is. Out is not up. Upper space is where you see stars. Outer space is beyond the ice wall. Have fun. Cheers buddy.
He needs to practice allowing others to speak, and finish their sentences. It’s incredibly annoying and hard to listen to someone constantly interrupting and bulldozing his bros on the pod cast. Like let Fouad finish his thought. Ian takes over and Mike and Paul and Fouad just sit there because they can get a word in. He could could work on this, it would make the best BBing pod cast even better.
Haha definitely no one got crushed here. I see his side and think many will also. There isn’t a right or wrong answer here just difference of outlooks/opinions. Always fun to have a little debate with Fouad, we were ling oversue
@@FouadAbiad 100%… if you didn’t take strong opposing stances then this podcast would be boring like all the others. That’s why every popular sports show on ESPN/FS1 is in debate form now.
Props to Fouad for always maintaining professionalism even though the other guys sometimes scoff at his physique comments Always objective and gives everyone the respect and praises they deserve which is very respectable
Iain and Fouad’s debates are as good as it gets for bodybuilding content. 41:00 - Iain puts it perfectly. Dude can articulate and descramble an idea like Joe Rogan.
@@i27v1 dude you and Fouad would be the best commentating duo of all time… believe me if I had any connections you would be the commentator and the mayor of my town.
Completely agree with Iain, people chased the champ, when Ronnie came he wasn’t “nicely” shaped but was so dominant so people got bigger to compete, so smaller guys couldn’t compete as they were so far behind in size and conditioning. The reason Roden beat Phil was he was perfect compared to Phil with a massive flaw
Such an odd debate by fouad lol I was really surprised by his stance on this. Iain is right it’s all balance if it’s just shape Andrew wins everything every time. However he’s not balanced he’s not conditioned enough he has some lagging parts so now a guy like hadi who fully balanced who absolutely doesn’t have the shape of Andrew still wins 10/10 times.
I feel its gonna be Hadi vs Derek again fighting for first, samson and nick fighting for 3rd,..Brandon, Nathan, Hunter and Andrew will be in the mix fighting for those top spots... But this is what I want to happen- Samson, Derek, Nick, Hadi, Andrew.
Am I the only one who thinks Fouad has a point? Ten years from now bodybuilding will be judged by Foauid's criteria. People still think Arnold has the best physique out of all bodybuilders.
You know what and this is somewhat just a random thing that popped in my head. I gotta admit Iain is a pretty damn intelligent dude. I really listen to his dialect and how he words things and I gotta give props when they're due and he is quite intelligent when giving a lot of his answers on various topics that comes up on this channel as well as when he is talking on his or Mel's channel. I think he will be a fantastic judge and not to mention he's a very good speaker. I think he would be great at giving seminars too if he ever decided to do that.
@Jimminityjabooboo Iain would be the mum and Fouad would be the dad. Mike's face was priceless and Paul just sat there in shock and didn't know what to say haha
I think it would be a big hitter if Iains wife Melissa, Shaw and a few others started a “ChicChat” on F.A.M Would be strategically more sound than an independent channel. Summer could pop in for special episodes like 10, 25, 50 etc I think hearing her perspective on helping establish Hosstile as THE brand would be really interesting 🤔
I am in agreement with Iain here, by judging what is in front of them it is determined by what physique draws your attention. If Samson comes in shredded and still full he wins, if everyone else is underwhelming in comparison. Same with Derek or Hadi or Nick or Andrew...they judge each person by their personal improvements and that seems to be who they reward. If Nick brings the freak factor, but no one else improved, he wins.
I think tomn8r said it best in one of his youtube videos, Aesthetics is very opinionated based, musculature and who wins each pose is a bit more solid and easier to judge. Dorian won over flex because of the amount of poses he won, even if flex's physique looks way better. Dorian had harder more muscle and more defined texture to the muscles which allowed him to win more poses. Its a muscle contest first and it always has been.
Bodybuilding as a whole is opinion based. Judging poses is still subjective. You may like the way someone hits a side chest more than i do. See. Subjective. No one is scoring definitive points all of it is based on opinion.
I am not going to win an arguement about shape, symmetry, or size in judging unless the judges put up a score for shape, symmetry, or size. The judges don't currently show a score for each pose. As a fan, if i only get an overall score card then that is all i know for certain. Iain made good points. I don't agree about the "coincidence" comment. No one gets to the Olympia stage by coincidence.
I think Hoss and Ian are both kind of correct. I watched the sport change I remember when Palumbo started placing at Nationals in the 90's just because of his size and conditioning even when he had a hideous physique and obvious oil in body parts. He was able to get all the way to second which I thought was poor judging on the national level. Then I will remember Pierre Fux standing in the lineup at the O looking like a pot belly pig with a big herniated navel. It was embarrassing. Fortunately he didn't place. But lots of guys were chasing size and seem to be getting rewarded for a short time. There's a lot of guys now that are competing but don't have professional level Aesthetics the only reason they even got their Pro card is because the muscle they were able to build with drugs in chemistry. We seem to be at another Pinnacle in the sport where we are finally getting some guys in the open level that actually have Aesthetics again. The judges do dictate what the athletes are going to do and many people leave the sport when they see the judges rewarding big ugly physiques just because they have excessive muscle and conditioning which I think is a travesty and I hope it never takes that direction again.
I get what fouad is saying. The perfect example was phil heath and rhoden. Phil heath won a lot of shots but he lost bc his gut. The judges favored shape and no gut. The judges dictate where the sport goes. Its common sense and Iain isnt getting that. What fouad is saying is that the judges should have never picked ronnie over a more shapely flex wheeler. If flex was the mr o , then the mr. O standard would represent a more favored shape. Perfect example, in MP brandon hendrickson brought the same package in 2021 as 2022, they picked banks and literally said that is the standard. They want smaller arms and more proportion. Brandon was too big. Why is this hard to get
We had big guts bc of the coach’s at the time. Not the bodybuilders. They don’t get to that size with out coaching. The era was chase size. More growth more food more slin… guts
01:42:00 The difference is Paul is 30 years older with a solid two decades of pre-workout use. People were saying the same thing about DMAA when it was re-released years ago. We all seem to forget that literally NOTHING feels the same at 40-50 years of age as it did when we were all 20. The ephedrine HCL being sold at the pharmacy is the same molecule it has always been. The supplement market was far less regulated back then as well so who knows if that 25mg was actually 25mg.
Great podcast! An elephant is much more powerful than a bear, they are the true kings of the jungle, it would take a few lions to take down an elephant.
I love this show...you guys say the funniest things and are so cool with one another regardless if you agree on a point or not. Great show. Keep it coming.
Ive had some heated debates with buddies and the next day we are totally cool. We should be able to talk openly like this overall if we are good friends
Open bodybuilding shouldn't be about beauty. Any man who's not half in the closet wants to be badass not beautiful. That's what they created classic for. We need to take the homoerotic subjectivity out of the open division and jungle on size and conditioning. Nobody's smaller and softer should ever win because he has beautiful adductor tie ins or some bullshit. I'm a non-straight male and we need to take the homosexual criteria out of judging of bodybuilding. It's like including the face in the judging of female bodybuilding it shouldn't matter
Ian is correct they judge what they seeing and that determines what the direction is. I think it's the athletes. Like he said they chased Dorian and Ronnie and that was the size game
You guys are both eight but I agree with Ian completely. Judge the whole package on each individual day just because a big guy wins one day because he is tighter also but the next week the smaller shaply guy wins because he was tighter
Fouad please answer my most likely stupid question…been using Bloodshot and love the pumps. Will hostility give me that same pump effect while also obviously giving me the energy boost from the stims? Tbh I am mixing Bloodshot with another stim pre I use and it’s been great, but if Hostility can do that all in one then I will just switch to Hostility all together. Thanks 🙏
Bloodshot is a non stim that focuses more on pump. Switching to hosstility sounds like it would be the same as taking a stim pre so unless you wanna support Hosstile keep doing what youre doing.
@@Stuartcpht I’ve thought about the caffeine pills. How quickly do you feel it? I know it is probably different from person to person but just wondering. Thanks
@lucasdaltong3405 usually start feeling it around 20 mins, then get the full effects at about 45 mins. I typically try to take the pill like 10 or 15 mins before downing the bloodshot.
I believe they left out a key element during their debate....(maybe I'm talking ahead of me because the video is still going) but I feel that THE PEOPLE, the fans...they are just as important as the competitors and the judges. What the people say they love about the previous show and the different physiques definitely influences the judges thus influencing the bodybuilders as well.
The back tattoos definitely destroys the lines on your back….. BUT….. BUT….. using Liquid Sun Rayz “Secret Weapon” and then adding a thin layer of glaze right before stage makes it about 90% better…..
Fouad your analogy of 2006 ronnie vs 2014 Phil in today's olmpia. Phil wins forsure 1000% that sealed the debate. Jay was better than ronnie multiple years but the criteria was different at the time.
Good podcast and great discussion. I agree with both Fouad and Iain. the judges are the one rewarding the physique hence the competitors will follow. But also, the judges only judge what they have Infront of them.
I don’t agree because conditioning seems to be a major aspect of the judging …. That’s the first thing anybody said about Hadi was his conditioning last year … His shape is def not the most appealing his symmetry is questionable with the shoulders I think and he’s not the biggest on stage …. And this shows are won from the back has always been weird to me because your supposed to be judging the complete package. Only my opinion it’s apples and oranges really
Dorian was more condition the flex and Kevin and Criss. What body I want Criss Cornier but he couldn't beat Dorian because he's condition and way more impressive the Criss.
Tigers are much more stronger than bears. It really depends on the size and strength of each animal. A tiger is typically larger than a bear, but bears are known for their strength and ferocity in battle. If we're talking about an average-sized tiger versus an average-sized bear, then I'd have to give the edge to the tiger due to its agility and speed.
Ufo’s have been around for thousands of years. It’s in ancient India books. Cave paintings and ancient paintings ha and art. They been around alot longer then our modern society. This isn’t my opinion either
