He filled in at left back at the end of the season. Anyone who puts him in is recency biased. He’s a centre mid who got put at left back to fill in that is it. He is not a better fullback than Walker, Hakimi, Trent, James, trippier, shaw, cancelo, Robertson, Davies, chilwell, balde, Zinchenko, Hernandez, di lorenzo, estupinan. I’ve probably even missed some that are better than him. But I’ve named 15 better fullbacks so that centre mid isn’t getting into the top 10
@@Callum-x4x he played as a more as a left back last season than a cm. Just because his main position is CM doesn't mean he shouldn't be with those names, because when he did play as a LB he is most certainly among those names
But then he said Kounde doesn’t get in because he’s apparently a centre back even though he played right back all season. The guy literally makes zero sense 😂😂
Bro what's mental is bro is only 19, final 3rd decision making is sometimes not always there, but that'll be learned with time, everything else that you can't teach like speed and natural 1v1 ability is already there, in 2 - 3 years he's EASILY going to be in the convo for best fullback on the planet and to be fair, I already have him in my top 3 right now
@@lewisryan4217First of all, ur acting like hakimi carried them which is just completely false. And secondly, using ur logic, havertz should be rated one of the best forwards because he scored in a ucl final a while ago
@@francie6278 The criteria was current players and their form, he has like 16 appearances last season and was not spectacular in a single game. Compared to kyle walker or even trent, he was way off it.
Totally agree, as a liverpool fan even I can understand if people say he's better than you know trent and others since trent is basically useless at defending but having him 1 is outrageous, people rate him too highly
@@tybomortier1211 ‘one of the best’ it’s not really up for debate fella, I can only name Davies and Cancelo that have been on his level for 3-4 seasons
Hakimi was one of the best defenders at the World Cup (especially defensively) so I’m not sure how you’ve come to that conclusion. But being a fullback and a little weaker at defending doesn’t make you a bad fullback. Trent has been known as one of the best right backs in world football since his debut but has never been a top defender
@@Callum-x4x Trent got exposed at RB that‘s why Liverpool had to change their system. Hakimi was ok with Morocco because they played a low block and counter attack football. He‘s been bad with PSG
The reason i know none of them watch football outside of the prem is that none of them had Balde in their list. He has been amazing last year for barca and was one of the main reasons barca won the league
Yeah, they just say big names in decent positions and hope no one calls them out for it. I’ll admit that I only watch PL, but I’d refuse to do a list unless it was only PL players. I remember the guy on the right putting Vlahovic as his 7th best striker in the world last season, or something similar, after he’s actually had a relatively poor season. Still, everyone agreed with him being there, but disagreed with Callum Wilson (and made a big thing out of it), who had the much better season of the two. They do the same for PL players as well tbh, but not as often. Balde was incredible in the very few games I watched him last season. Talented player.
caravjal in your top 10 is literally writing on your forehead i dont know ball. even madrid fans were screaming for him to get out the club last season
Theo Hernandez is clearly the best in the world right now. There is not a player on is level, that preforms as consistent as he has the last 3 - 4 years. He is an ideal model of what you would what, and what all managers in the world would dream of having.
@@tomascosta9021 You obviously have not watched Luke Shaw at all. So ignorant, England's best player in the last two tournaments, elite crosser, elite passer, elite under pressure, elite defender, elite aerially, there isn't a single thing he cannot do.
@@Caspar_17 I could see Shaw as one of the better in the world, but if you watch what Theo can do on the field its another level im sorry. I dont know how much fotball you watch outside england and pl. But it feels like people who only watch pl, dont see other players for their worth and overrate pl players to a certain degree. Im not truing to jugde you, just have a open discussion😀
Reece james could sign for Newcastle, have a full season fully fit, absolutely tear it up and garrett wouldn't have him top 10 full backs this time next season 😂 hes a complete 🛎
Walker any lower than 3rd rn is crazy! He is rapid and super defensively sound. A huge key to man city success and hope he stays and gets the respect he deserves.
the disrespect upon baldes name is crazy, first season starting for barca and was one of our best players, showed up in big games and seamlessly replaced jordi alba, if were basing it purely off last seasons form hes better then almost half the fullbacks on this list, his efforts for the league title were unbelievable
I don’t know if you read comments but I think a good idea is to each have a top ten and at the end of all of them make a combined top 10. The arguments would be crazy but also I like hearing everyone’s opinions on players
My List (taking into account everyone mentioned and top 15 in general): 1. walker 2. davies 3. R. james 4. hakimi 5. trent 6. theo hernandez 7. cancelo 8. balde 9. trippier 10. robertson 11. di lorenzo 12. kounde 13. shaw 14. zinchenko 15. ben white
Alejandro Balde is easily one of the best fullbacks in the world, and I’d take him above almost any player that they mentioned. Also Nuno Mendes might not deserve to be on this list based on last season, however on ability he’s easily one of the best in the world as well and if he stays fit and continues to develop he could be generational
@@finnoone12 True his pace and dribbling is insane and he’s also solid defensively, the only thing that worries me is his fitness and the fact that he’s playing in PSG, a shitshow of a team
I’m sorry but Kyle Walker is so clear as number 1 right now. Reece James would be but can’t stay fit. Walker is the perfect one on one full back with his pace and physicality. He absolutely pocketed Vini JR in the champions league which is an achievement on its own. And I’m a Liverpool fan so I’ve experienced many times how frustratingly good he is. Best right back in Premier league history and still is at the age of 33.
Walker played basically half City’s games this season though, so you can’t exactly use the fitness argument - it’s just great management from Pep to protect him only for when he’s needed
Tom putting Cancelo 5th and Trent 10th is embaressing. Cancelo was worse than Trent defensively this season and isnt close to him in terms of ability on the ball
The delusion continues. I don’t understand where the “best defence in the world” comes from. Napoli, Lazio, Juventus, Man City, Barcelona, ath Madrid & Feynoord all conceded less or the same as Newcastle. They got it spot on when they called him out for always saying they’re under dogs and then every world class list there’s at least one player from Newcastle on the list 😂😂
@@RenewedRS I can agree with walker and potentially shaw. For me TAA and Reece James aren’t actually that great. On there day certainly, but not for awhile.
@@husseinsoliman0427 there’s a reason TAA has been moved to a midfield/cb role in recent months. His defense has been immensely lacking. As far as Reece James goes, he’s looked very off the mark since his injury. 2 years ago he was elite, right now he looks a shell of that player.
@@pacman7687 it's less of a recency bias and more of these people have no idea about football outside England other than knowing fifa ratings of players.
Reece james averages 37 games a season in all comps in the last 4 seasons . No1 can name a single outstanding season he has had or even a memorable performance but is constantly in the discussion
Reece James number 1 is criminal sorry, I get that when he plays he's amazing but he's played 17 out of the last 46 possible Premier League games... like how many times does he have to miss over half the season till we start to consider that in our evaluation of him? Guy can't stay fit!
any inverted fullbacks count as fullbacks the same way inverted wingers like Salah count as winger even though on the ball they effectively become strikers/hyrbid forwards. so someone like zinchenko should be there.(btw the slander on Cancelo here is outrageous.)
Cancelo historically has been great the past 4 or 5 years. But the past year or so have been horrendous for his rep, City don't want him, Bayern don't want him, he's had a rough time. If he finds the right team he'll bounce back but it's a time of uncertainty for him so it's just unlucky timing for the list really
I don’t think having Trippier 3rd is that bad. A lot of fullbacks had down years and only a few had outstanding years. I think Ake could be a shout for this year. He’s only played there a year, but he was unreal. I think Balde could have made the list as well.
Carvajal is only 31, he is still around that top10 area, I do agree that he has lost a step from injuries and because he used to play at 100% the whole game and ran himself down.
Very prem based, the list should be 1-Cancelo 2-Hakimi 3-Theo 4-Di Marco 5- Alphonso Davies 6- Walker 7-Reece James 8- Di Lorenzo 9- Robertson 10- Trippier
Anyone disregarding Reece James, just remeber, in the 21/22 prem season Reece got 9 assists and 5 goals in 1862 minutes vs Trent's 2 goals and 12 assists in 2854 minutes. So they were equal on 14 GA contributions in total but Reece did it in 1000 fewer minutes
Trippier was class the season prior too and then the year before that was in the Spanish leagues team of the season too. So I'm not sure why that wasn't brought up too
Balde not even getting a mention is CRAZY, easily in the top 10 for me, hell I'd probably easily put him top 5, offensively he's blistering quick and his 1 on 1 ability is very high, only knock is sometimes his final 3rd decision making is not always there but then again, he's ONLY 19, once he gets decisive in the final 3rd he's EASILY going to be in the convo for best full back on the planet.
actually mad Lewis had the best list. Cama's a bold shout but not bad. Not sure if he had Robertson? They all had Hakimi too high, and yeah as he said Shaw maybe missing but he acknowledged it
Tom back-pedalling says his list is currently and so is everyone else’s but then cooks lewis for having players lower than trippier because of this season only.
Theo’s right when on about what is classed as a full back nowadays. You have to consider that they always start as a fullback, whether they do or don’t move into midfield after. Trent is still a full back, not a midfielder.
10. Shaw 9. Di Lorenzo 8. Estupinan 7. Hakimi 6. Robertson 5. Kounde 4. Trippier 3. Davies 2. Walker 1. Trent Reece James doesn’t make the list because they clearly say current form, you can’t have somoene in who doesn’t play football cuz he’s always injured. If I had him in in, I still don’t rate him so would be 4,5,6 area imo 👍
1. Theo Hernandez 2. Joao Cancelo 3. Alphonso Davies 4. Kieran Trippier 5. Andrew Robertson 6. Trent Alexander-Arnold 7. Achraf Hakimi 8. Denzel Dumfries 9. Giovanni Di Lorenzo 10. Reece James Destiny Udogie will become the best LB soon🤫
