⁠@@InfCrashit doesn’t mean this. It doesn’t mean Adam *the individual* was created with both characteristics. Adam the individual man was not male and female. Adam *the kind* was made male and female, in God’s image. In Genesis 1:24-25, you can read how God created animals “each according to their kind”, with different types of birds for example each being made according to “bird-kind”. In the next verse, :26, God said “let us make man in our image, after our likeness.” Man here is man-kind. So there is a particularity to one kind of being that is shared among all individual members of that kind. And God specifically made our kind (Adam-kind) “after” His own image - sort of like a shadow of who God is. For one, the triune God is three persons, one in being/kind/nature, with us also the same way (one in kind, multiple in individual persons among our specieskind); not only that, but He also made us with dominion over the earth, minds like His, souls, and so on, like Him. So Adam, being the name of the first man Adam, is also the overall, generic term for humanity. Adam after all basically means man, made from dust. So referring to the species (male and female both, young and old, dark and light) as a whole by Adam as essentially “Adam-kind”, like often we refer to “man” as the whole species, AKA “mankind”. I hope this helps. (If it wasn’t exactly clear lmk and I can re frame it properly. With a little explanation this should end up being simple and making sense. @@alphonsedenny4962 I’m not sure if you truly understand the Trinity. Firstly, the doctrine of the Trinity does teach that God is triune. Those are literally different forms of the same english word. Also, we do believe that God can “separate” himself but that only works philosophically and ontologically if He is more than one person. If He was only one person, then that would mean that Jesus came to Earth, then God would’ve been absent from heaven or only a diminished part of Him would’ve been there, which is not the case. Moreover, the Bible does not teach that the Father is the Son. If that were the case, why would the Father AND the Holy Spirit need to appear at Jesus’ baptism? (Matthew 3:15-17/notice how the Father is still in heaven as well) Why would the Father be talking directly to the Son even when he’s NOT in a physical body if they are just the same person? Also, I get why you would get hung up on Jesus response to “show us the Father” and he definitely proves his divinity by saying “whoever has seen me has seen the Father” but I wonder why he doesn’t just say “I AM the Father”? It’s because if God is three persons in one essence, then that would mean their interconnected relationship would denote them being separate in one way but THE SAME in another way. Again, that’s literally what Triune or a Trinity means. According to your logic, the Father is also the Son of Man and the Father also died as well, since the Son is just really the Father. But that’s not what the Bible teaches. No man can see the Father and live.
