Right here. 70s and 80s Soul, funk, disco….nothing’s better. This music brought everyone together on the dance floor and the back yard bbqs, can we go back to those times. ❤
I got a kick out of the 2 bros in the front look related keeping in line with their little dance moves and one on right looked so happy. Upbeat song for sure.
It was 1978, white and black guys together in one group making music. To this day, their music makes you want to dance. Sometimes feels like we're going backwards.
The white guy on keyboards wrote every song by heatwave and also hits for Michael Jackson, brothers johnson, George benson, and countless others.. His Name was Rodney Rod Temperton... May He Rest In Heaven.....
I am listening to :Groove Line by Heatwave still a tight beat 2024. No auto-tune, no graphic sex …just good …get down…music. I was fourteen and I love this song and how it made me feel…fantastic.
I loved being a kid in the '70s and so glad I got to experience this music first hand. Those of us who were around during this era, were so lucky! This will always be a tune! RIP Rod Temperton and Ernest "Bilbo" Berger. 🕊❤
❤Nobody does it better than the “ORIGINAL” HEATWAVE BAND from the late 70’s!!!❤ Johnnie Wilder Jr Keith Wilder Rod Temperton Mario Mantese Ernest Berger and the rest…. 🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵
This is one of the best "Get Your Groove On" songs ever. I remember back in the day, dancing to this song every time the DJ played it when I was out at the clubs. I'm 66 now and still love listening and dancing to this great song.
"Leave your worries behind"... I could replay this part on loop forever. So beautiful and soulful. I started at 'Always and Forever', just finding out Heatwave is behind some of my FAVORITE hits! Been looking for this song for over 2 decades ❤❤❤
I am sixty three years of age.. this was my era i was in a supermarket today and what was being played on there tannoy system made me feel that i was in my teens again....one comment...pricelles !!!
hey larry - we almost same age .In my 60's & cant forget the good memories this song brings ... Wow I didnt appreciate when I was in HS .. how I wish I was back in those days
I knew it had to be one dum dum on here using the word underrated for this awesome hand they had. Major hits that even crossed over to the pop charts . Why do folks use the word underrated on RU-vid so darn much
On this night, back in 1978, 'Groove Line' was # 5 the Charts, along with the relentless pounding of the Blizzard of 1978 here in New England. Only some will recall that one ; )
This song gives me so many memories of being a kid and groovin' to this with my siblings and parents. I'm so glad to have been a young girl when I was. The '70s were such a dynamite time!
SO true @palex startks. This stuff gets right into the heart and soul and is so good! Why can't we get back to a place when we are entertained with awesome dance steps, a happy beat and music that EVERYONE can get into. Lot's of stuff today is just so angry and in your face or hyper sexed...and that's pop music numbers. Great comment! :)
@@kimmieMPA That's because their British songwriter (and keyboard player) Rod Temperton left the band to do his own thing. Temperton aligned himself with Quincy Jones and wrote most of the songs on Michael Jackson's "Off The Wall" album in '79 and "Thriller" in '83. Temperton was the mastermind behind Heatwave's short-lived success.
Right and there was no HipHop songs in the early or mid 1970's ,like they're trying to feed us ... first mJor rap song came out in of 1978/9 not 50 years ago !!!
Yes,he wrote this and ‘Thriller’ and ‘Rock with you’ and ‘Off the wall’ and ‘boogie nights’, ‘always and forever’, ‘Baby, come to me’, George Benson’s ‘Give me the night’…..not bad for a fish gutter from Cleethorpes 😅(He’s the keyboard player with Heatwave in this video.)
@jasonknox1268 you're correct. Quincy Jones was the producer and Rod Temperton was the songwriter of many Michael Jackson's major hits. You can tell Temperton's influence in the Off The Wall song which has lots of similarities with Heatwave's Boogie Nights
Take note children... These guys are what is known as "musicians", and are part of a group called a "band", where they play these things called "musical instruments", because they possess this force known as "talent". Notice how there's no computer-generated crap? This is where you want to lead the future of music back towards. Class dismissed.
Same. Some of the best times of my life! I actually remember dancing to this at a house party when I was 15 yrs old. Great music will always stand the test of time
HIGH ENERGY!!! This what REAL MUSIC IS!!!! This is music that defines a generation. This also set the standard for music as we know it!!! If you grew up between 1960 & 1990!!! You knew what REAL MUSIC WAS!!!! I was very fortunate to grow up in this ERA!!!! Not only was this music AMAZING!!! You would feel SO GOOD and ENERGIZED when you heard it!!!! When I rode my 1978 Honda CX500 I would feel so good riding it!!! I had a 1982 GMC Astro 95 Cabover Truck and I heard this song play I would shift the 18 speed trans in that truck like a BOSS!!!! The music of today could NOT EVEN come CLOSE to music like this!!!! This music defined a culture and Lifestyle!!!!!
I’m I truck driver in London. I play funk all day long and it does keep your mind happy while all around me outside it’s pretty nasty. I play bass and guitar too. I put a few in my own RU-vid channel. 🕺 ✌️
This is one of a number of lesser known disco/funk tracks from the late seventies. Absolute killer! The energy levels, power, syncopation & musicianship are off the scale. I've always believed that truly great music seems effortless in its execution. Whenever I spin this one at parties & try to announce, the floor fills before I can utter the word 'HEATWAVE'!"
