Taking a look at a demo for a game called Heaven Crawler.
This is a REALLY short demo. But it shows off quite a bit. You get a good sense of the controls, the character's move set, the atmosphere (which is awesome), the gameplay loop, the loot/gear, and the enemies.
10 minute demos usually scare me a little, making me wonder how much of a game there will be in the final version, but I liked this one. I thought my move speed buffs got a little ridiculous but that was kind of fun. I enjoyed the mechanical arm combat where you could poke at enemies with little robot pincers as well as pick up items in both hands and hurl them at people.
It seemed a bit easy when able to move so much faster than the enemies. But I suspect the game gets harder.
There's not enough of the game in this demo to be really sure of anything about how well this will come together in the end, but it's definitely very promising. I will pick it up when it's released.
