Very nice! I tried this for 10 minutes, alternating 30 seconds per side, starting with 6 kg and moving up to 8 kg after a few reps. The detailed tips are very much appreciated.
Your videos are so great while being both technical, explanatory, and showcasing, that I'm falling in love. As a man with a very analytical mind, you answer all my unspoken questions. Sending a firm virtual handshake and gratitude.
One of the reasons I love the stuff you put out is that there is both the recognition that general physical fitness needs to be different from skill training, while still keeping them aligned. If you were to try to exercise by, say, throwing a weighted football, you would actually get worse at throwing a normal football.
Nice to see a video on this - this was the next progression I was going to try. On my club day, I perform the cross body clean as one movement - then with another movement I perform the same side clean to pullover. Next step I planned on moving to was this movement.
I just received shipment of a 15lb. club today to use with your videos. I can see why you urged someone with no club experience to not start with anything heavier.
@@stevemash7505 I've been using clubs for about 6 months now - and I still alternate between the club I started with (4kg, roughly 8.8 lbs) and the 15 lbs. I've been following the light-heavy rotation that Mark talked about in KB programming. I typically do a rotation of 5 exercises (a minute on each side for 10 total minutes, then repeat). Usually, I'll do something with the 15, then to the lighter, back to the heavy and so on. Current routine inside/outside circles heavy (set 5 is a killer on the forearms). Cross body clean with light. Mills with the heavy. Iron Cross with the light (I find that currently with the heavier club I have form breakdown after 3 sets). Then I finish it off with same side clean to pullover with the heavier club. The clean with pullover with the heavy club definitely leaves you feeling it for a couple of days - tricep, lat and chest will be sore.
Just make sure you're either outside of have plenty of room if using the mace. Something protecting your floor would be beneficial if you're doing it inside as it's much easier to hit the floor with the mace and you'll do some damage.
