I really miss these days of Hip Hop where they actually had SOMETHING TO SAY and found interesting and intelligent ways to say it. Wish the new generation would listen to this type of Hip Hop and bring more of this style and storytelling back to the mainstream.

I remember when Heavy performed this on 'In Living Color' to wrap up on of the episodes. Thank God I downloaded the entire series. This was one of the best Special Guest Performances on that show.
Ad a fan of gangsta rap Heavy was like one a the few that wasn't hardcore that i liked, people dont understand how talented he really was, honestly he was ahead of his time and i truly believe he could have made hit songs in this era
On MTV 20+ years ago, the credits said it was on the Peaceful Journey album. So, I bought the album just for this track (without actually looking at the track list). I was so disappointed to find it wasn't on there.

Now, I still got his 2000 best-of retrospective Heavy Hitz. The song You Can't See What I Can See was his transformation to jump into the Boom Bap bandwagon for his 1993 4th album Blue Funk. You can find this song on the 12" inch vinyls of Don't Curse and Peaceful Journey singles, but this song is on the Heavy Hitz album. Basically, I love this joint to the fullest.

It's gonna take some time to get over the tragic loss of da Heavster. Not only is he one of my top 10 rappers of all time from the lyrical standpoint but also he meant a lot to me as a human being because he cared about people. He always lifted my spirits when I was not having good days. Everybody loved him to death. There will never be another Heavy D and I know he will be in heaven looking down on us. RIP you will always be one the illest to ever grab the mic and you will be a legend forever!
