Partner I'm with you 100% when I moved to the free state of Arizona two years ago I wanted to carry a 1911 as well old school veteran here. I struggled with a shoulder holster that works Nice in the wintertime with a jacket however I finally ended up with your setup up and what you have works well too as long as I can conceal properly and not print to much . Yes definitely subscribe thumbs up thank you.
Bought an R1 Enhanced yesterday and a set of suspenders today. Wearing em both now... Can't believe how comfortable I am. Haven't tugged on my pants once! Thanks Pete
Been doin' it that way for awhile now Pete. Blackhawk makes some great shirts for concealed carry that work VERY well in the summer. The only downside is sometimes the clip type suspenders pop open. But you can get these things called "perry clip" suspenders that attach to the belt. Go look at suspenderstore dotcom.
Pete, I EDC a Beretta 92FS . I have for about 20 years. Many people knock it's size for concealed carry but, hey, it's the one that works for me. This is a great idea that I'll put to use as I am also sick of hiking up my jeans because of recent weight gain (I'm 6'2" 270lbs). Thanks!
Besides the clip on type and the Button type that James suggested, they have the bridal clip that hooks to your belt loop, which i like best. That way they don't come loose short of ripping off the belt loop.
I'm one of the small guys with a 32 inch waist and no belly....hell, I have to load up my pockets with rocks to get to 150lbs, but!!! I Digress!!! I still wear my three point suspenders when toting a sidearm on my waist. The weight does wear on the old hip bones when there's no meat protecting them! Thanks for sharing my Friend! Keep on keepin on!
Man you gotta love Pete!! It's alternative Pete, but we all know what you were trying to say. I like the set up. I'm 6'6" and I have a little belly to that I'm working on getting rid of at the gym, but because I'm a big guy I like carrying bigger guns because my hands are XL, and my problem is that I don't have a big butt that sticks out to help hold my pants up so I know what you mean. I'm gonna have to try this. Great job Pete
Pete, I just started using this same system like 3 weeks ago, and it works perfect, glad to know am not the only one that does this..lol keep up the good work I have been a subscriber since the start of your channel thanks for all the cool vids!!
I just love it when a person has so little in the way of response, that they start calling someone else names! Immediately, I'm aware of the fact that they lack the ability to truly support their case. And I do have many friends in the military, and they are ready to remain committed to the oath they made to do what the "Commander-in Chief" tells them.No one is trying to take your gun away; paranoia gets you no where. As a professor, and school psychologist, my colleagues will NEVER carry a gun
This has been my preferred way to carry for years. The only difference is I wear my suspenders under my shirt so I don't have to tuck in my shirt. Works great.
Tried the suspenders today while I was carriying my Baby Eagle, I mean my Jericho, like that name better. It worked great, never had to hike my pants up once. The Jericho is chambered in 45Acp. with 10 plus one so it's heavy. Never had to worry about the pants falling down. Love the channel lots of good tips carry on.
Great grandpa wasn't an idiot...he knew what worked! Especially as you get older, and the gut gets bigger...suspenders are a workable way to hold up your drawers. Also, you can try a Galco shoulder rig? I have the Miami Classic for my Beretta 96, and a Jackass rig for my Glock. Both work quite well... ~
thx 4 representin' 4 us "old guys," Pete! suspenders r an old (but effective) way 2 support CCW carry. i lost 35lbs & have the hardest time w/my CCW, but now have an option that works. thx Pete & keep up ur gr8 work on YT, brother!
Great idea,I carry a sig p229 in 40S&W and its heavy but I don't want to compromise by carrying a smaller gun for comfort,I use a crossbreed holster which I love but I do find myself adjusting my jeans from time to time,I will definitely try this, good tip Thanks.
Fuckin genius. My 1911 with 3 mags kills me. I weigh 155 pounds and cary almost 10 pounds of gun and ammo everywhere. U just saved my hips and belt so much stress.
Works great! LEO's have been doin this for years in these parts. Your one shoulder wear got me thinking, back in the 80's I bought a rig called a guitar strap suspender, trying to be cool and hip of course. It used a single strap on one shoulder and resembled a guitar strap, wonder if I still have that. Hmmm maybe even mod a guitar strap. Great video!
You should consider a nice and sturdy gunbelt, such as the Liger GunBelt. Or Ares Gear Ranger Belt. But I think the Liger would suit your style the most!
Pete I constantly carry a Springfield Armory Mil Spec 1911 and two spare mags. Suspenders are a great solution to a heavy gun. They've worked well for me for a few years now. Only thing is, when girls rub your chest at bars, you gotta tell them why you're wearing suspenders ;-)
I've been wearing suspenders for years just for that reason. I discovered Perry brand suspenders. They have a plastic clip that just clips onto your belt. No more metal clasps tearing up my pants or coming loose.
Hell, ya look alright that way. A shoulder holster supports the gun from the shoulders. Yer doing the same thing. Suspenders may be old school, but they still work...good vid, my friend.
Looks like a good idea, and I'm going to give it a try. I gotta' say, I like your channel. I'm in lockstep with you on a number of the guns you show. But one of the main reasons I keep coming back to your channel, aside from me being a gun nut also, is you make me laugh, and quite frequently too. Some of the things you come up with causes me to bust a gut sometimes. Don't change a thing in your presentations. Some of your past shit is priceless !
I love suspender. I used a brand called Perry suspender. It’s on Amazon. Bit expensive but made in the USA and very well build. The clip goes underneath your belt instead of clipping on your pant. Been wearing them for about 8 years now. Even with a gun belt like kore or blue alpha. It still sag on one side and don’t feel good. Had to pull my pant up or slide the gun side up every now and then. The suspender solve all problems. I hardly feel my iwb gun on me.
That's a killer idea! I'm a lil tubby and have the same problem. I'll try this for sure! Good luck with your diet man, I gave up sodas, cheeseburgers and fried foods. I'm cranky as hell but have lost some pounds. Love your videos Pete.
6 months ago, I bought heavy duty (2 inch wide) suspenders from an on-line suspender store. Instead of metal clasps on the end like yours, mine have a nylon "U shaped" end which hooks underneath the belt for support. The suspenders are a "Y shaped" rig, with one strap down the back, hooking on the middle of the belt in the back and one strap going over each shoulder and hooking underneath each side of my belt in front. I carry my SR1911 comfortably all day using a Crossbreed IWB holster.
I've experimented with this as well. I like the Perry suspenders that attach to the belt because they hold the belt up. I like the ones that only attach at the sides (trucker suspenders). I wish I'd have thought of suspenders 20 years ago. tired of my pants dragging down
When you get tired of haveing the suspenders pop loose when sitting down (even with the pin type), try the button suspenders. They work perfectly and never come loose. Carhartt is one source.
YUP! Suspenders!! Rediscovered them early last year..makes all the difference in the world. All day long every day no matter how heavy the gun. Can also finally wear pants comfortably without cinching down the belt super-tight which gets uncomfortable fast. Keep spreading the good word..
Yea I have that white boy flat butt problem too. Found suspender solution years ago. Also like a old Bianchi X15 shoulder rig in the cooler months when have a jacket.
Your an honest true to yourself guy man. most of us cant be as honest as you are still wearing those 34" waist on that 38" meat loaf. The suspenders are a great idea thanks for sharing.
I've been doing the belt and suspenders for years as I carry a Ruger GP100 long barrel that's really heavy. The Duluth Trading "X" type heavy duty suspenders work great. Hardly know the gun and two speed loaders are there.
I’m honestly thinking about suspenders I’m 28. But I also suffer from Dunlap disease and noassatall disease so suspenders might be my go to. But I’ve also noticed that my old Kore essentials nylon belt did far better than my current one. Only had to get a new one cause the ratcheting system was broken.
HAHAHA!!! My father used to mispronounce words too. Don't feel bad. He pronounced finger as fanger and eggs aigs. We were born and raised in Texas and have a very heavy Texas accent.
I've been carrying heavy pistols for 15+ years and the thought of wearing suspenders never crossed my mind. Now I feel great with the big gun on.THANK YOU !!!
the ones with the belt clips are way better, at least for me, the clamp ones pop off on me from time to time. they xpecially rock when your doin yard work.
I use to wear suspenders ---- LOL I have the twink belly too. As you probably already know - a THICK QUALITY BELT makes all the difference - and will almost always eliminate the adjusting
I'm 20 and I prefer suspenders over a belt, and I am a little over weight too. Maybe you could take your shirt to a tailor and get them to cut it out so it goes around the holster and won't bunch up like it does.
Suspenders are excellent. I just got a new pair last week. And I also would like to recommend two things, the new (new to me) side clip suspenders, less noticeable easier to hook up, and the ones mentioned by greenjeans63, the type that grabs the belt. Take a look on Amazon and Ebay. About $13 +/-. IF you find yourself constantly messing with pants adjustment, GRAB SOME SUSPENDERS!!!
i think it is a great idea the problem for me is i have to tuck my shirts in at work but on my days off i dress like a slob anyway so i may try this also i want that spartan helmet on your compressor lol thanks for the vid
Good idea I carry a p229 everyday on my belt and even with a good belt and good holster I have to adjust occasionally (I'm a small framed guy with a little bit of a gut)
Check out some cowboy suspenders that clip onto your belt loops. Also, button suspenders are super classy, but do require you to sew buttons into all your pants. Also, why not try a shoulder holster?
