Jordan Lake shined yet again as the bite was steady and heavy all day long for Group A's first go on the North Carolina fishery. Enjoy the highlights from Day 1 of General Tire Heavy Hitters Presented by Bass Pro Shops!
When you see these guys break rods - it's not the rod's fault. My work on rod breakage research hangs in the warranty departments of most of the world's major rod manufacturers. The rod's maximum deadlift capacity lies within the lower 1/4 of the rod's length. I realize these guys get their rods on the cuff, but the weekend anglers don't. Don't emulate the way these guys use rods - it's a recipe for rod breakage.
They "trash" them just the same any other time, but they don't in tournaments because of the rules and penalties. Most all tournament anglers respect the fish.
You realize every one of them “trashed” the fish before they came to MLF. You think they all just magically had a change of heart and all of a sudden started caring more about the fish? BASS anglers care about fish just as much MLF
No tournament angler really “trashes fish”, everyone says they’ll throw them back in the water after catching them but the fish will literally jump 4 ft out of the water after you jam a hook as hard as you can into their face and wrench them in by their mouths! The worst they do is let the fish touch the carpet, the best thing MLF does by far is let the fish go immediately after the catch, that’s so huge especially when they are spawning.
