Owen, I’ve read your comment from 8 years ago, deduced that you were likely born well after the 80’s era, and if you’re still alive likely have built a time machine to take you back to experience the most awesome period in time to have been a young man in the United States. If the latter is true, come get me and take me back…..I want to do it ALL over again. THIS America, today, sux balls….
i remember one time the shit hit the fan while i was with a friend,he was doing a shady business in tijuana, the last thing i know i had to hit the gas while some asshole shoot my rear window, just after the dickhead of my friend hopped into my car of course, this ain't a sad story, but yeah i got ur point lol good weed tho.
Lyrics: Head bangers in leather Sparks fly in the dead of the night It all comes together When they shoot out the lights Fifty thousand watts of power And it's pushin' overload The beast is ready to devour All the metal they can hold Reachin' overload Start to explode It's your one way ticket to midnight Call it heavy metal Higher than high, feelin' just right Call it heavy metal Desperation on a red line Call it heavy metal noise Tight pants and lipstick She's riding on razor's edge She holds her own against the boys Yea, cuts through the crowd just like a wedge Ohh, can you feel the static So many contacts being made We've got up front fanatics Tearing down the barricade To reach the stage Can you feel the rage It's your one way ticket to midnight Call it heavy metal Higher than high, feelin' just right Call it heavy metal Desperation on a red line Call it heavy metal noise
I am 44. I can promise you that not only did Sammy save Van Halen but this song is his best one he ever did. They will be jamming to it when people have space cars! I love this piece. Thank you Sam!
And then you went and got 2 comments, one about fuck South Park and one about Sammy Hagar sucking. Sammy Hagar rocks, though, and South Park is awesome. So now you have a variety. Have a Heavy Metal day!
Agreed. The 90's were ok, 1990 was my favorite year of that decade (the rest of that decade sorta stunk) and the 2000's beyond? Sucked bigtime. The 80's were the best.
@@JussaPeakBruh This movie came out when I was 13. Had the soundtrack right after it was released but didn't see the movie until around '87-'88. This SONG (this version, not his album version) is in my top 10 SONGS!
I'm not that crazy about Van Hagar, but I love Sammy's solo work. This song is amazing. He is singing so fucking high, and even he's pushing it. The intent of this song is pretty much the template for the entire music style. I own both of these movies. You have to.
Thank you mom and dad for not censoring me as a child and letting/encouraging me to watch this moving when I was 5. You introduced me to an amazing movie with a mind-bending story and some of the best music ever made.
+joe strummer I am SOOOO glad I was 13 in 1980, spending my formative music years growing up in what I call the Golden Age of Heavy Metal, with all the raw metal and hard rock up to about 1985! Don't get me wrong, I loved a lot of the stuff that came out after that, and every decade since then has some good stuff. It's just that, it was still underground in the early 80's.
@@chadparker2003 AIDS peaked in 2004 according to the data at unaids.org, racism saw its extremities in pre and post civil war decades, serial killing rose in the 80s with a paltry but still significant victim tally of 10,000 (worldwide) as opposed to a whooping 1.6 million suicides in 2019 in the United States alone with 40,000 of the suicides related to social media. Yes, you are right. 80s was a great time to alive.
man, great nostalgia...had a cassette tape copy of soundtrack and I think I played it until it died, driving aimlessly around all over in those '80's highschool years evenings with friends when ya'd just get the car and drive and drive in the night cool air and play music and not think about the school work ya had to do.
I saw Heavy Metal 29 years ago when i was 11 years old thanks to the magic of the local Albuquerque weekly tv guide every saturday paper to see what shows/movies/specials will air. And it said "Heavy Metal (3 stars) animated science fiction and fantasy comic book stories set to rock music. Voice of John Candy. Animated. (Fantasy)" and i knew i had to see it and i saw it on Cinemax and was mindblown by the movie as i also saw it and taped it with other cool adult animated movies on Cinemax like Hey Good Looking, American Pop and Vampire Hunter D and became faves of mine. I even recorded some of the songs on a talkboy tape recorder. The movie never had a video release before 96 due to music rights issues and was reduced to being a midnight movie from 1982 to 1995 and on cable from 1982 to 1996 and TBS and TNT in late 93 to 95. And it finally was released in 96 as i also saw the 96 re-issue in Albuquerque theaters where my 19 year old brother took me from here in Belen to Albuquerque to see it and i bought the VHS for my 14th birthday and CD soundtrack. I even bought the DVD in 2001 when i got my player and blu in 2011 and recently UHD 4K as it looks/sounds amazing in it's new restoration. I even had a crush on Taarna when i was a kid and a teen as she was on par with Princess Jasmine, Jessica, Daphne/Velma, Catwoman/Ivy/Harley/Red Claw/Talia/Zantanna/Batgirl on Batman TAS, Roxanne in Goofy Movie (Saw that movie in theaters at 13), Rebecca Cunningham on Talespin, Mindy Simmons/Princes Kashmir on Simpsons, Scarlett/Baroness on GI Joe, April O'Neil and more, lol. Even as a 40 year old man i still dig her lol

I saw this movie when I was thirteen, and it didn't help with all those hormones going on! Sammy Hagar still sings this song at his concerts, and he still sounds great! Sammy still puts on a great show and he is absolutely amazing! Must be all that Tequila, and that good looking wife of his!
My older brother took my and the rest of us kids(then) to see this at the theatre...he told me a few years ago that he was shocked at the nudity in the film and thought he was going to be in trouble with our parents....lol Thanks bro for taken me to see this and letting me jam to your classic rosk albums when I was a Lil'Tyke.
Oh fuck yeah. Where is my time machine. Plenty of cheap weed, drinking, cruising the main drag, the chicks were hot and loose. Please send me back to the early 80s when I was 19.
***** I was listening to Black Sabbath at 13, getting high as fuck on weed, stealing beer with my buddy from his dad's ref in the garage. We were fucking crazy little punks. I raised my kids with a watchful eye, I know kids with no supervision go off the tracks...well I did anyway...hahah
ChaoticDestroyer eune fuck that pansy ass shit. Beetles are for whiny hipsters and wannabe socialists. I don't want anything lighter than maybe Journey.
First heard this cut by the Red Rocker in 1981 as a Political Science major at Long Beach State. Then went right out and saw the movie. Perfect selection for the soundtrack.

LeeBob, were you from Box Elder, out by Rapid & Sturgis? (Rapid City South Dakota for those who don't know where im referring to). Thats funny, cus I lived in Aberdeen for 13 years. 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Funny you ask ispawn2o! John Galt founded the city I live in (Guelph Ontario Canada) in 1827 working as an agent for The Canada Company. He founded a few cities around Ontario, but, died a pauper years later!
*This song plays on the radio* Me: "Don't speed you have a perfect driving record, don't speed you have a perfect driving record, don't speed you have a perfect driving record.."
As will THE PEOPLE who were raised and rocked in that era. I wouldn’t trade a single friend or moment from my life in the 80’s for all of the millennial Americans or for another 50 years in this woke shithole.
@@andrewcondrey9131 you poor thing. They really are irritating. Still not sure sammy hagar qualifies as awesome 80s genre 😅 ✌️. He ruined Van Halen!!! 😢
Steve Arbore Not true, if I recall there were legal disputes with the music artist that prevented a home release for 15 years but as of now it's been settled, filmmaker Robert Rodriguez owns the rights to the movie now and it's been released on Bluray and DVD for quite awhile now.

Thank you for the tune it took a small fortune to find this album, you saved me from damaging my crown jewel of records in my collection from fuzzing out. Love this tune!!!!!
Hagar re-recorded this on one of his later solo albums. Unfortunately, it sounded too slick to me. This version has all the raw energy the later version lacked and then some!
I'm 62 I was introduced to Montrose in late 70s my brother came back from Vietnam and took me to concerts even when I was in the service myself I still went to concerts Rock on HOOAH
This!! This is the baddest of bad songs when It came out And the MOVIE Heavy Metal Absolutely the most beautiful and powerful HEAVY OF THE HEAVIEST MOMENTS IN 1980’s!!! Yeaaaaahhhhhhh ❤️👏👊💪🎸🎼🎸❤️
I was the first Disc Jocky in Nashville, Tennessee to play this song on 91 ROCK, WRVU-FM. Got a copy as quick as I could from the Record Rep., got it back to the station owned by Vanderbilt University (Vanderbilt Student Communications), and had it on that afternoon. The Commercial Album Rock Station in the market wouldn't play it for a while. WRVU was the only full time Album Rock Station at the time in Nashville. WVCP-FM 88.5 was just Album Rock at night in Nashville. Later, the station I owned in the 90s thru 2019 played it sometimes on AM 1560 WMRO, during the day.
It only takes about 4 seconds into this track to remember how fucking awesome the 80's were and how pathetic this nation has become. Man, how badly we need an 80's revival!! A little Hagar goes a long way!!!
The 80s…. Fuckin sucked spandex ,Tad and materialism. If you were punk or real metal you were not cool lol you were ostracized like a motherfucker 90s was the flip and you can thank Nirvana
teenager when this hit...when all the greats came out..legend time s ...every kickass riff that came out was changin us in the late 70s and thru the 80s....those times are in concrete...often immitated but never ever duplicated
