We had Micah of Oh, Sleeper talk about making their first full length album since 2011, the process and meaning behind the lyrics and so much more on HNY \m/ \m/ heavy.nyc / heavynewyork. . / heavy_newyork
I would love deep dives into all their material. It's common to hear artists say they don't want people to feel disconnected by having meaning shoved in their face, but for me that's never mattered. Especially with concept stuff that's story heavy. I stopped being a "believer" a long time ago, but that never really stopped me from enjoying many artists who are, past and present so it's not going to turn me away that half the songs are somewhat tied to faith. Micah is a great lyricist and the images that stuff conjures is always awesome and I hope one day he gets really deep into all the full lengths.
Dude, I've actually written lyrics for about nine albums. I found that of you keep your lyrics general then it still can touch people on a personal level. Anyway, this interview just inspires me more to get in/ set up a band. What is the best way to start it up in general (I do not mind who answers it, but I would prefer someone from Oh, Sleeper)?
