Not really. Especially with these because of the sheer number of drivers. I’m going to do a review of tracking in them soon! With other headphones in the past I definitely would do the one ear on one ear off thing though

They’re designed for enjoyment and meant to mimic what live music feels like in person. Definitely an interesting concept. That being said, I feel like it’s important to reference mixes on both very transparent and very colorful systems. I have more videos coming on this subject 😊

You sound like you’re hating just to hate

I have them and in my experience they are wonderful headphones HOWEVER I personally did feel the need to EQ this puppies to get them how I wanted for my ears. Do they need to be EQed? No but I can understand why some people such as myself would want to EQ them, in general I EQ all my headphones. Would I say they are better than my focal radiance? Hell no but I also paid $1,300 for those so yes overall it gives me more variety than the heavys. Also no the bass is nothing like skullcandy and beats. The bass is loud but clean. The best way I can describe the experience between the heavys and the Focal radiance is with the Focal radiance I can make them sound as if I'm in the studio listening to the sound being recorded while the heavys I can make them sound like I'm at a live concert tuned to my liking. You slap 3D audio on the heavys and you will get a very unique experience that you cant with other headphones. For someone that grew playing blues, jazz, and second lining the heavys are very immersive for me and the fact I can get that feeling without needing to EQ if I do not want to or lack the means to makes it better. For my focal radiance to give me that feeling of being in a studio I need a dac but for the heavys to give me second line that sounds like Im back performing in Mardi Gras parades in nola or just playing music in general I can plug em in as is. Honestly it almost brought a tear to my eye since I no longer play but being able to get that sound tuba right next to me and the bite of a trumpet again was nostalgic. Personally I feel these headphones are best for people that spend a lot of time around live music and want that feeling. The average joe is likely not goong to fully appreciate the experience. The heavys serve a specific purpose while most audiophile headphones are solely just to hear music at its techinal peak or as some may say "so the music can show off how fancy the tech is". Never had I heard a paor of headphones that make me feel mike Im listening to a trumpet playing without mic until I used the heavys. The radiance are amazing but everything sounds like its in a studio live not instruments playing without a mic projecting themselves at me. Maybe you do not agree with my assessment but at the end of the day I thrist for that sound you get with a live instrument that audiophile headphones have never given me yet the heavys have achieved that whether I EQ them or not so if I want high quality music I go to my focals but if I want the raw sound of live music the heavys are where Im going. The only compaint I can make is the damn weight☠️
