From Chapter 7:1-3 on the study of the Book of Hebrews (אֶל־הָעִבְרִים), brother Gideon Levytam shares with us the Eternal Priesthood of Yeshua, Jesus the Messiah. The Hebrew author takes us back in time, making reference to the occasion when Abraham met Melchizedek king of Salem, a priest of the most high God, and introduces us to the superiority of the priesthood of Yeshua. Melchizedek appears and disappears from the pages of scripture, Genesis 14:18-20. Psalm 110:4, and no record of his birth or death are recorded in God’s Word. Melchizedek's priesthood resembles the priesthood of the Lord Yeshua, Jesus, the eternal Son of God, who remains a priest continually.

Amen, Brother Gideon! Jesus is Superior! ❤ He fulfilled all the requirements of the law and established the New Covenant.

I have been struggling mightily in the idea that messiah got rid of lesser laws like not eating pork. I want to be obedient in all things but I also want to focus on what’s the most important: loving god and his ways, and loving others. He is our new high priest and king. Can we buy and sell on Sabbath? Can we eat pork? Doing those two things would really let me be around others in a way I can let my “lamp light shine” so to speak. Any insight would be helpful…from anyone.

The Shabbat was given to the people of Israel, not to the church, therefore believers of the church age are not under the Law which was given to God's earthly people of Israel. Jesus the Messiah fulfilled God's holy Law which no person could fully keep. True believers in Jesus the Messiah are under the Law of Messiah. Galatians 6:2. As to resting on the Shabbat day, or eating foods which God forbade His people Israel to eat. Well, each believer in Yeshua during this present age, have his or her own personal liberty as before the Lord. Romans 14:1-8.

I think to keep the Sabbath as it was given at the beginning of the world. As the MOST HIGH'S work was done HE rested on the 7th day . My opinion only. I keep the Sabbath.
