Not my best run, but I definitely hit my double G's at finals of the UIL State Championships. Hope Ya'll Enjoy. :D - Follow me on Instagram @spanish_flare_trumpet
@@Spanish_Flare_Trumpet One question. I saw in one comment saying you were a senior so I was wondering if you then marched Amon the Stars in your sophomore. Did you do any cams during say for example, the Grand Park rehearsal or any other rehearsal?
im from azle and our band directors told us to watch this band when they performed because they were really good. hebron definitely did not disappoint. keep up the awesome work :)
I saw you guys live at state. It was amazing. Our show this year is inspired by this show. as my first year marching I can hope we are half as good. the double tongues are crisp
As a band dad for many years (son plays Bari-Sax) I was the guy in the scaffolding with a video camera and one of the field directors. The playback the next morning was an eye-opener for many of the kids who thought they were in the right place at every stop. From this point of view you can really see how much effort it takes to BE in the that spot and all the counts, steps, turns... and all while playing your instrument. Marching Band *IS* and athletic sport, and don't let anyone tell you different.
@@easttrumpets I got mine my sophomore year. They really are great when playing to the higher range. But it can take a while to develop that range. Biggest tip I can give about using the GR to play high is it’s all about air and not about hard it’s pressed against your mouth. I learned that the hard way.
I remember coming back to high school to play at a band re-union (pep band) at a basketball game. I had only been out of high school maybe a 2 years. We started off with the national anthem Towards the end of the anthem, when the song goes.. and the land of the free.. most lead trumpets go G.. G-G... C. I hit the C then went up to G above and held it passed the cut off. Several of the sax players in front of me turned around and went DAAAAANG. One of the last times I ever played trumpet. Moved on to vocals, keyboard, and songwriting. Miss those trumpet and band days. Great memories.
Hebron is a world class champion highschool marching band, only a handful of bands can compete with them and no one matches there HORNLINE and low brass, the only band that matches them musically and title wise is broken arrow
Our whole band was on the floor in our band hall watching SA BOA results. We just about blew the the roof off the place when the winner wasn’t Reagan, CTJ, or Vandegrift. Those were the best guys we’d seen all season, but y’all were next freaking level. No complaints on y’all’s top placement! :)
This was my first boa season out of high school and I cannot explain the amount of energy this show had at San Antonio. Definitely put me in my feels and I think I’ll forever remember this show as “the one after the world ended,” haha. Your talent is absolutely insane, do you plan to march dci ever? Because you absolutely have the ability for some potential lead contracts!
The crisp horn movement is crazy cool. I haven’t really had good direction up to this point, and for some odd reason, I can’t seem to snap up and place my embouchure right away yet. Work in progress.
I’m starting marching at creekview in CFBISD this year. I live just down the street from Hebron, and even though I can’t go there, I’m glad y’all are our neighbors. Hope you have a good season!
Totally unrelated but I loved y’all’s shows the past few years!!! I’m from MV, and i get to see y’all at Tournament of Gold (i watched your guys’ in the pouring rain last year) and Showcase every year, and you always kill it! keep up the good work!!
Going off the valve nuts and bell length, it looks like the TR-200 Strad. That's the same horn I use. Heavier than most "professional" trumpets, but absolutely rips in the upper register. Great playing! 👍
One thing that I am sad about being in a smaller band. Just having 1 person not contributing can kill my bands sound. Which usually happens because of the people who don’t care(reason I joined drum corps is for the people that do care)
@@bellaj6497 Sorry for the extremely late reply, revisiting this video on a whim, lucky to find my own comment again. I marched the 2022 season with Genesis trumpet section. Definitely one of the best decisions of my life. Would not trade any of it for the world. I played 2nd trumpet(2nd trumpets best trumpets), but also did a bit of lead work
@@andyzavala2349 wow this is crazy cause i like never check my notifications but i was asking cause im in a too similar of a situation small band and would maybe like to march in dci one day
@@bellaj6497 I mean just go for it. Many journeys start with “I’m not good enough” hell, I started playing trumpet my freshman year of high school, and I told myself I wasn’t gonna be good enough, but here we are now
I love this show! We watched the show in our band class to encourage our younger marchers to preform better ! Do you plan on doing something like DCI when you graduate?
I didn’t know Hebron used screamers I thought they were like crown where there is no screamers (except ‘21) and you’re using a GR too so you’re using pure air. My GR does not allow me to muscle anything at all which GR are you using in this video?
It’s also cool seeing y’all have so many lead players considering you guys don’t have a jazz band most highschools have screamers from their jazz bands like mine our “screamers” we’re both the lead players from our jazz band 2 years ago.
The mouthpiece is a 64 z gr. We have had some sort of screaming before in our past shows. There was the screamed note at the end of the ballad of “Sculpt” 2017, there was two screamers for “La Suerte Azul” 2020. Since it is a Spanish show, but the other guy busted his lip open. This year was two screamers again. The same people from last year, Joseph Miller, a junior, and I being a senior. In this years show there was a total of 4 double G’s.
@@Spanish_Flare_Trumpet Oh wow I see a lot of people using a 64z I really want to try it now. But I love bands that sound like a concert band on the field and then have things like screamers fitting into the show.
as someone from Haltom High Marching Band and got to see this in person i got to say you guys did very well, this year did not exactly go to well lmao Covid did us dirty
you guys scare me honestly... I had not idea this was happened in america or anywhere in the world, like sure you see it on movies but this is straight out crazy man xD
Just realized I forgot to tell you! He remembered you and spoke very highly of you, specifically stating, "Yes, he is a very good trumpet player, great student."
So in the beginning it’s a sax ensemble. If I remember correctly it consists with a total of 1 Soprano sax, 2 alto saxes, 2 Tenors, and 2 bari saxes. But only the saprano and one of the altos play the duet and the rest play crunchy background chords.
mets baby yeahh, anyways I was like there's no way there would be tuba's right,, right...?, feel bad for them lol but you really sounded good even if it wasn't the best run :)
@@Xavier-qw9hs lmao honestly right now idk since it’s summer I’m going to this workshop and suddenly I can play high again but I think it’s being consistent with your instrument there is many exercises but you have to trust the process lol
Yes that is definitely the plan. But for this year I wanted to spend the summer with my friends and family before I’m busy with school and then gone for the summer.
