Thanks for your comments, William. I mainly posted this video for the ones I worked with at Channel 12 in Richmond, VA. This salute was done after "Hee Haw" was going to be replaced with two episodes of "MASH" after the Summer Olympics in 1989. I made the suggestion that I edit "Hee Haw" down to 30 mins. and airing one episode of "MASH" afterwards. The station manager and Gaylord Productions agreed. Thus, I spent the rest of the season cutting the show down to 30 mins. but keeping it on the air in Richmond. It was a challenge, but I enjoyed doing it.
@@New1Kent I love it! Watched this show as a kid. For some reason, the only comeback to a friend of mine's post this morning was a good old fashioned hee haw salute and I came across this. Sweet!
@@georgeannadecarlo8053-- Thanks for the comments, Georgeanna! I ended up editing "Hee Haw" down to 30 mins. during the summer of 1989 on WWBT in Richmond, VA. It was a challenge, but it was fun. During that year I went to Nashville and watched them tape two days' worth of "Hee Haw". Ray Stevens and Roy Rogers and Dale Evans were the cohosts. I took lots of pictures.
@@New1Kent That's awesome! What a group of co-hosts! I would have been star-struck for sure. But that was the great thing about Hee Haw, it was all about fun and people got to see the "down home" silly side of everyone, especially unique glimpse of people who lived a glamorous life in the spotlight. You have an album to treasure.
