Heilung - Anoana LIVE | LIFA Llyn Dain 

My car broke down the day before I was supposed to see them live, so I bought a train ticket and traveled 6 hours across Texas to see them. The line for the venue was winding blocks down the street, people would pull over in cars and yell "what's going on!?" Because mostly everyone was dressed up for a viking invasion. Still one of my greatest memories. 😂

Seeing Heilung live was the closest thing to a religious I've ever had. I was in a giddy daze the rest of the night.

Maria's voice is a gift to humanity 🥰

To the person whistling in the crowd at the beginning- you are now part of the song for me, like a bird calling at the start!

Their live performances are always amazing and I personally prefer a lot of live versions over the studio versions, it has more life if that makes sense.

I saw them last night at Red Rocks in Denver. It was absolutely incredible! We were in the mountains with a full moon. Just perfect

I was there. It was one of the best experience I eve had. People from all walks of life went and saw them, guys in business suits, metalheads with long beards, vikings, wiccans, families with their children. It was just an exhilarating moment.

My cat jumped in my lap when I started playing the video and just watched the screen for the whole song. I don't know if the lights caught his attention or the sound, damn, maybe both. Don't ask me why I felt I had to share this anecdote.

I am amazed how Heilung manages to get the live music sound better than studio, because their studio sounds truly amazing! I love how Maria raises the tone of her singing in the last part of the song, compared to the studio version. She truly has the voice of an angel! 🖤

Heilung is rare example that live concert versions can be way better than clear, record in studio, with mastering etc editions. Heilung live is my default way to listen.

I'm absolutely mesmerised by Maria's voice... How she can sound calm and reverb, and in moments release some "distortion" and became voice of pure nature... And the style of course... Feels like Freya herself graced our world with her presence)

When I first saw a video with Heilung and soon after an interview with Maria, I thought she seemed familiar to me. I found through friends that i did meet her at a larp in the 90ies. I will not claim I know her, but I have talked to her. 30 years ago. Weird feeling. And so happy for her and her "tribes" success.

There are these 3 times in a year I come back to listen to Heilung and everytime I burst in tears. Normally I never cry, not even under the highest emotional stress. This music feels like its cleaning my inside from all hate and pain I just can't get out of myself otherwise. Danke für diese ganz besondere Kunst 🖤

Maria's voice is incomparable. Her voice is such pure, raw beauty. The voice of a goddess 🤍

I haven't ever really cared about going to concerts despite my love for music, but there's no other live performance I'd rather seen than Heilung. Their music truly is healing. I listen to them exclusively whenever I draw, and between their masterpieces and the drawing, I go to another place, and it's so peaceful there.

I just had the pleasure of going to their ritual in Austin. Their music transcends language and time and, when you listen to Heilung, you can feel something ancient and primal waking up in your soul. Something long suppressed. Going to their ritual, however, will release that out of you. You feel it in your blood, your heart, your soul, and your bones. Heilung means healing and now I can feel why they chose that name. Thank you for such a beautiful experience, Heilung.

This is what I love about Heilung...their music is such an experience...on such a primal level. It connects you to everything and you FEEL the world. It truly is magical and what human beings nowadays need. We need to unplug and get back to CONNECTION.

I am a metal fan - but Heilung is my absolute favourite! What they do nobody can reach... After each ritual I feel new energy, love, clearance and - yes - HEALING. ❤

maria has such a wide range to her voice. i honestly believe if she wanted to she could break glass with her ability to reach that high pitch. i have been watching this band almost from their beginnings and they never stop impressing me. one of the most remarkable bands to come along in decades. i am now 72 and i cannot get enough of heilung. THANK YOU HEILUNG FOR YOUR UNIQUE SOUND AND TALENTS. 👁 🌙 🎶 🎼

Those two dudes on the bigger drums are god damn BEASTS!! For almost 2 hours they are just destroying! Especially the one guy, he goes HAM! The backup vocalists need some love, too. I really really miss this. I want to be back in that 2 hour window of time.

Why do i have the feeling i found something i didn't know i lost since i found heilung?

I've heard the studio version of this song so many times, but this... THIS... it's otherworldly. When Maria went an octave higher at the end there, it was like I felt my soul was flying, high above the mountains. Thank the gods for Heilung. I really wish I could have gone to see them in Greensboro a couple months ago!

The Hammersmith "Apollo." I'm pretty sure that this is the theatre that people of a certain age knew as the Hammersmith Odeon. Also, back in them days, playing the Hammersmith Odeon was a sign that a band had made it. Good to see Heilung playing there.

My only regret this year is not being able to go see them live. At least here i get to see a live performance of my favorite song. Thank you, Heilung, for your healing and incredible talent.

I was at the Denver performance. I don't know where else to be able to tell them this so here I am. You guys saved my life. I was in such a deep dark place before I found you, hospitalized for safety for myself, just the worst depression of my life. I legitimately owe you my life. After I got out of the hospital I found out you were playing nearby and I did everything I could to see you. It was my very first "spirit journey", and I will never ever forget it. Seeing you live was the most wonderful experience of my life. I experienced true calm and happiness for the first time in as long as I can remember. Your music makes me feel something magical in a world that feels like all the magic has been sucked out of it. If it's the last thing I do, I will meet you guys and thank you in person.

I love the studio version. It brought me to tears the first time I listened, and several times after. I didn't expect a live performance to have the same effect, perhaps more so! I'm trying not to cry on my lunch break. If this doesn't become one of Heilung's best-known and loved songs, I'll be shocked.

this version has me in awe. the bass is so much more intense; the supporting voices so much clearer. i love seeing maria and christopher playing the instruments; the lights spinning in circles. the entire experience is so much more powerful than the studio version & i truly adore it. i cannot wait for the rest of lifa llyn dain! 🖤

I love this live version, it has so much life to it. It brings me to tears especially at the crescendo nearing the end of the song. I don't think any music has moved me as much as Heilung. After listening to them high in a trance state, their music hits on a different level than just a casual listen.

CANNOT actually believe the female vocalists are actually this good live!!!! Like, its very very very rare that an artist is bang on how she sings on the album when singing live. They're amazing. (Edit: realised more than 1 here)

Saw this in Greensboro last week. I've been hoping they would professionally record a set from this tour.

One singer pushing her range on both ends and the other camouflaging breathing like a master, this feels like one of the toughest live performances! And it turned out flawless.

When I was growing up, I never thought that in modern times I would get to hear our ancient singing methods and expressions such as kulning - Now, among others, Heilung and Jonna Jinton have made it world famous.

Just a couple years ago, I walked into my local JB store (they sell music, movies etc) picked up a couple movies and went to the check out. The guy behind the counter pointed at my shirt, smiled & said it's a shame they'll never come to Australia... About a year later... Heilung confirmed they'll be comming Down Under!! I really do say this seriously, I really think it was the best live show I've ever been too!! (over the past 20 years of going to live shows from classic pop to black metal & everything in between)

I always listen to this song whenever I have trouble sleeping. It helps calm me down and makes me feel like there are things in this world that are bigger than me. It's truly healing

I was lucky enough to see Heilung here in Clearwater, Florida on Oct 23,2023. It was one of the most amazing,spiritual experiences of my life. You could feel the music beating inside like a 2nd heartbeat. I knew it would be an amazing experience, but I had no idea it would be like that. They were performing 15 min from my house. I felt so lucky to be one of the people to see them live❤

I will never forget this performance. It was an electric, moving atmosphere. I am so glad I get to have this to remember it by. It felt like a ‘you had to be there’ performance.

Intending to go alone, I bought a ticket to Red Rocks for myself. I listened to 3 songs and knew I had to experience this. It almost feels like a calling. Anoana is one of my most favourite songs by Heilung. Love the video, but this is so much better. The sound, voices, atmosphere. Its incredible. I dont understand a word, but it always makes me sentimental and cry but also happy and full. Cant wait to finally hear the live.

I dont even know why, but i always have to shed a few tears when listening to Heilung. Sometimes i imagine, its these last few remains of ancestral blood remembering what first the romans and then christianity took from us.

I saw Heilung perform on Monday, October 23rd at The Ruth Eckard Hall in Clearwater, Florida. It was the second best show that I've ever seen, only to be topped by The Original Misfits. The production value of the performance alone was stunning & I found myself entranced and I dare say that I'll never see anything quite like that again. I can't say enough about them. The experience simply magical and awesome!

*Heilung is incredible.* Anoana had the best music video I have ever experienced in my life, when I saw it I was certain no live video could live up to it. And indeed this video does not. But it comes close. This is such masterful production, the lights, the smoke, the positioning, everything is so perfect! The 5 minutes pass as if they were not there at all, I believe this performance could go on for 20 minutes and I would sit there entranced not even noticing. Among all the bands currently in exitence, I will hunt Heilung the most, I need to see them perform this!
