The Liberal Democrats won a stunning victory in North Shropshire, taking one of the Conservatives' safest seats with a 34% swing. Listen to Helen Morgan MP's speech after the result was declared.
Although I have voted solely for the Conservative Party for the last 40 years, I was very pleased at hearing these results. Helen, congratulations are in order my dear, and I thank your new constituents for voting intelligently. Surely, this has given Boris a bloody nose, but that's a small price to pay if it gives our nation hope.
I was also pleased - I think this is an area where traditional Conservative and Labour voters can find unity. Conservatives and Labour clearly have an unofficial coalition, with Labour helping Tories get legislation attacking our rights passed. I personally have almost always voted Labour (Lib Dems once), but not now. And not Labour now, as I don't want another Conservative-Labour coalition in all but name. After the coalition where Nick Clegg and other Lib Dems turned into Tories, I've been wary about Lib Dems. However, under Ed Davey's leadership, they listened to the people on vaccine passports (which even many vaccinated people are against) - I don't agree with Lib Dems on masks, but at least they voted against domestic vaccine passports, which Labour voted for because they clearly have an unofficial coalition with the Conservatives. I'm seriously considering joining Lib Dems now. Not every Lib Dem policy is one I agree with, but trying to find a party that aligns with every single view is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. And I like that they listen to the public now. As for Brexit, it's done and dusted, their position on it is irrelevant now.
I'm quite enjoying Boris being humiliated, I hope this doesn't bring about his end too fast or the Tories will have time to regroup before the next election
Awesome. Excellent result for Liberal Democrats they Shospshire seat politically it matters in getting full STV P.R for UK general elections for the UK House of Commons in the future. STV voting system for all Local government English Council elections in England. All councillors in England elected by STV voting system. Art won Shospshire for you and Liberal Democrats Thomas politically.

Too bad for the small minority of 1,738 Greens who resolutely stuck it out and voted for a party which had no chance whatsoever of winning, rather than vote tactically in an election which will shape the future of this government and probably the next general election. And certainly this Prime Minister. They must be proud.
This victory was won by Chris Bryant MP and the standards Committee in Parliament. It was lost by habitual liar Boris Johnson and the sheer arrogance of the likes of Andrea Leadsom and Owen Patterson. We are sick of the LibLabCon failure. Naff all to do with the shambolic offering that is the LimpDumbs.
I'm not so sure. I think this is an area where traditional Conservative and Labour voters can find unity.
