Being from San Diego myself, it's kinda strange to identify as being from SoCal its such a huge area. L.A. or Orange County, Riverside, Ventura and San Bernardino. I'm missing a few counties oh Imperial which is mostly desert including Palm Springs, Salton sea and Joshua tree etc ( I forgot about and then totally bragged about my desert area knowledge) So as I'm going on and digressing somewhat I answered my own question! Your from an unknown area like Victorville or Oxnard and didn't want to hear any huhs? I don't blame you a bit! Southampton Water is a huge area for boaters on the South Coast of the UK, at the weekends it's murder on the VHF radios with boaters calling for a sound check on Ch16 or the Harbour Masters channel, now I'm talking hundreds of them. Spoke with a Coast Guard and he puts it down to the boaters want everybody else to know their out on the water, the CC has asked boating clubs and marina's to get their boaters to do local checks within their groups, but it still happens. It's the FLASH thing to do.

I was in a similar biz a while ago. My only comment is, the first SUV to arrive took a position on the ramp's first two positions. He was expecting a boat to land with at least one patient. This would 07 Alfred's guess that someone was ill inside the restaurant. Clearly the patient(s) were due to arrive by boat.

That was not a drill. The fact that we may crack a joke about something and laugh at it means nothing. I suspect that either they ended up at another marina or the coast guard got to the patient first. They won’t run a drill like this at a crowded Marina.

It pisses me off too Monica. About 20 years ago my parents house caught fire and all the volunteer firemen showed up with all types of vehicles....then the water truck came and could not get close enough, so the house burned down. Mean while, during all this commotion, the traffic was so backed up, being it was at a intersection, and they all left afterwards. And you guessed it, NOT ONE VOLUNTEER stayed to direct the traffic. Just had to vent this Monica. Stuff like that pisses me off. Thanks for listening.
