This is hardly a "poor man's" version. You've got a fortune in time, starboard and other stuff invested. Overall I'm impressed with the workmanship and the ideas you used.

I don’t know how anyone can downvote this guys hustle, intelligence, and drive if anything at all. The effort this took. Much love man.

I was completely mesmerized by this man's ingenuity and dedication. I managed a high tech electro-mechanical laboratory for decades, and I wished I had 10 of him , this man is a "doer" , a self starter, and a genius.

The amount of work that went into this is impressive. I was not expecting it to be so well made to be honest.

Honestly the best part of these insane builds is that no one is ever going to reproduce them but the innovation that comes from them helps us craft ideas for our own kayaks and small craft ... I mean the tackle box on the side ehhh I usually take more tackle than my damn body weight but in terms of building safe structurally sound this is the man to watch thanks again for a great video.... and to the no music ... after building a baby gas monster maybe a little smoke on the water by deep purple

Absolutely love the idea of multiple low HP motors on a small boat. Terrific on so many levels - reliability, power, etc. That specific hull might not be the best choice but best or not, it's done and fun. Another example of the difference between making and engineering... that bow splash, yo... but I love the sound of three 5s purring 👍👍👍

Change out the props for a higher pitch ones, you’ve got 3 motors on the back so the acceleration loss shouldn’t be a concern

Isn't there a rule that every boat in FL has to have too many motors to emphasize how saltstrong you are? :) This was awesome and your craftsmanship is impressive. Having the skills and vision to execute stupid, ridiculous, fun ideas like this is foundation of innovation and sometimes trips to the ER for those of us that are less skilled. It's not often that you read thru a comments section where there is this much agreement and respect. As I read, i noticed everyone mentioned something that I was thinking or wanted to congratulate for so I wont repeat what's been said. Thank you for the inspiration. Install a working 15HP and a dummy 15 HP on either side of it just to keep it ridiculous. Now, I think I'll try to install a trolling motor on my trolling motor.

Hey, you might consider crafting a couple of "trimmers" for the aft of your add-on. Your build seems a bit bow heavy. The more surface area that comes into contact with water, the more drag you introduce. A trim system can either depress the bow further OR raise it to where only about 1/2 of your boats underside contacts the water. Just an idea. True story. Back in the 70s, my Dad (and commandeered labor from the rest of the family) bought one of the molds for the 48 ft houseboat line that Nautaline Houseboats was retiring, circa 1971(?). He worked for that company for, IIRC, 10 years. So, he took the mold, had it sanded out, and used it to build a 48 ft houseboat in our backyard in Tennessee. Yes. Took 3 years. Funny thing was, when he bought the diesel electric generator, he forgot to mention he used a personal check for it. Mom found out only after 4 checks bounced. Back then, checks were THE way to pay monthly bills. Needless to say, Mom was furious. I remember them arguing about it in their bedroom. I just remember Mom raising her voice (which she NEVER did). Last thing I heard was "You are CUT OFF, Mister!" She gave him the silent treatment and made him sleep on the couch for a week. Yup. That was the one thing Dad could not stand. The Silent Treatment. Hated it. Heh. So from then on he was limited to 3 checks a month (placed in his wallet by Mom herself) and he had to call her when he wrote a check, right then. But the houseboat was built. It could pull 8 water skiers. Had two 455 hp waukashaw 8 cylinder engines. thing was a beast. Reason why I even mention this story was that Dad, in his infinite wisdom, moved the overall structure forward 2 feet. And that made the boat bow heavy. Thing could never hydroplane.

Your DYI skills are on point. Don't apologize for anything. I was really impressed with some of the ideas that you had to come up with to make things work and you actually helped me solve one of the problems that I have on a project. Thank you for sharing. You might well be the first channel that I have ever subscribed too.

Your vids are addictive, could watch you build stuff for hours and have learned a great deal from you. For mixing FG I use 1ml hardener : 2 oz resin, I use a baby med dropper for the 1ml, this is the best mix I have found and beats the heck out of counting drops. thanks for all your effort putting these vids on YT.

It is high time I got back to my wooden boat build that has been years in the making and was going to be a sailing vessel but now an electric duel minn kota. craft as My wife and I just bought a cottage on the Erie canal in upstate NY. Boat speed is 10 miles per hour max but I will use all of it for the build. Thanks and the plastic bits look fantastic.

I had a 7.5 hp Sears outboard on a 16.5' square stern canoe. With a passenger in the front, @ full throttle, it would skip across the surface like a flat stone. Without a passenger, or any other weight in the bow, the bow would lift straight up vertical and the stern would plow downward. That was a lot of fun on an early April day.

I agree with almost all of the positive feedback posted here but I feel like you should have made more of a disclaimer regarding the safety of a build like this. The hull design doesn’t plane with the weight distribution as it stands and the thing could hit even a small wake and take a nosedive. Keep on building and I’ll keep enjoying.

I had used those 5" disc on a makita sander for 8 hours a day grinding off lead paint on old lap board houses, every house I ever tested for lead had it but I did not refuse the work or stripping it to bare wood, setting the nails, priming the nail heads filling the holes, priming, caulking, and painting I charged $3.00/ sq. ft. before Hurricane Katrina, I have no clue what all that would pay now... BUT, I have also done fiberglass work to on autos and yes I agree it sux, Much respect for mad skills...peace!

I'm usually not the one giving comments on YT but this time.. holy. You motivate me to rethink about my outboard conversion since creating a somewhat sturdy bracket seems to be pretty easy (and I "converted" the Volvo 290 Z Drive hole into a older series hole, which is somewhat smaller in size with doubling up the transom plate thickness). There are some to buy already but here in Europe it's not that common as it is in the USA. Huge respect for your work and appreciate your time to make such an awesome video!
