We've got potential!
This is the 78VL Model with Blue lit keys. There's a zone RGB Keyboard model # 72RG
Want this laptop? Here it is! amzn.to/2SNXaPK
-Battery life, unplugged battery life is always tested first and drained SEVERAL times doing what I do. Skype, email, watch a few videos, write up to documents for work, ect... No gaming and this 3 hours is a pretty realistic expectation based on real world usage. 40-60% brightness and KY lighting off.
-The teardown of this is really easy and Acer did an exceptional job on their internal layout. Some of the best in recent memory. There's thermal paste on the GPU vRAM but thermal pads everywhere else. Use .5 if you want to install pads like I did.
-I tested thermals Stock, Liquid Metal then Kryonaut. This is a new laptop so don't expect new "non-conductive" paste to matter much today like it will with a laptop that's a year old.
-Liquid Metal on the CPU only was done because the GPU doesn’t need it as it’s far away from thermal throttling. On a shared heatsink the closer you can keep the temps of the CPU and GPU together the easier it is to manage thermals over long sessions of gaming.
-Exterior build quality is above the rest at $1200.
-Plugging in the Power Supply is odd and I feel like i'll break something if i'm not gentle. It gets hung up more times than not.
-Backlight bleed is a nuisance on these so buyer beware. I've talked to a few companies who sell laptops and we all agree that IPS displays are sensitive to the bezels fitment too. I use to take the bezel off and sand the inside of the bezel where BLB was present if it was pinching the panel tightly, hence the way I showed it in this review.

-Predator Sense is a must for the best functionality on the Helios 300. Yes you can tweak the XTU settings baked into the software but you're on your own here. I've been around long enough to see others screw this up more time than succeed. I cannot help you troubleshoot something I did not teach.
-CPU Thermals are high just like I knew they would be. My ambient temp is a cool 73f so be mindful of this as tuning this laptop isn't ideal.
-Idle fan acoustics are real and you can here it in this review. I turned off our air conditioning for this review so you could better hear it. 34dB
-I have so much testing with this as my original commentary is 65 minutes long.
CB20 Stock 2624
CB20 Turbo 2869 same as LM
Firestrike Stock 14523/16252
Firestrike Turbo 15496/16842
Firestrike LM 15477/16839
Stress testing overnight max temps on Auto fan 96c and 82c CPU/GPU
Turbo/Auto fan acoustics 55/45dB But LM Auto fan had 43dB and occasionally hit 45dB. It was annoying actually. Your own ambient temps will affect this differently.
-Sound Audio and average at best
-Bios is basic
