As it is there’s not enough jobs to go around, even if you have a place to live (not enough of that, either). Plus, cost of everything has gone up over the past 50 years, but wages haven’t risen in the past 30 years or so to keep up. Most people are just one or two paychecks away from ending up on the streets.

Yes we left Portland Oregon in 2017. The city was overrun with homeless and it's getting worse. The entire West coast.

It a great suggestion. I agree, the military is voluntary. No volunteers in society why would they volunteer for the military?

Many homeless people have mental illness like schizophrenia. Imagine giving them weapons. Many of them also have drug addiction too and diseases.

The military will not accept anyone with prior drug use period. Nor mental illness.

I am a property manager for two skidrow building Vets are a major population of homeless with mental health problems. Not all have mental but most. Anyway thats not how it works...

most wont as the overwhelming majority are mentally ill, and they re not capable of getting help because they are too far gone, and our systems have left it up to ''choice'' but by default they are not capable of making the ''choice to go get help, if they could make that choice, get help, navigate the system they would not be ill. but yeah the majority are very ill, and or have substance abuse issues , again: there is no pro active supports or monitoring, its all left up to individual choice which is bullshit, you cannot leave people who are mentally incompetent to make decisions for themselves especially with no active involved supports, im all for you choose your life, but not when it effects others in a negative or destructive way : this does, this causes crime, filth, disease, a strain on the system, the camps and tents, impede peoples mobility, access, safety, and it hurts the economy as it impedes business .

Mental illness, homelessness and drugs are issues associated with this problem. These people aren't the problem but are victims and symptoms of a bigger problem. Our leaders are losing the fight against drugs in this country. In other countries, the slum areas don't look like this. Although people are living in poverty, people are actually living happy despite the poverty unlike here in a rich and wealthy country. This is very sad.

Almost all of them around Mesa AZ are hooked on blues, the fentanyl pills. And they are everywhere. We need an annual purge

I live in a third world country. I never seen this dirt and people living in the street here. This is an American problem. Fueld by drugs, mental problems, lack of spirituality and morals. Violence. More interest in dollars then other humans. Keep your problems in your own nation.

I suggested not to help no homeless on skid row cause that the worse place there no law no boundaries no rules what do ever homeless are people who are in control of this who are . I been homeless and I witness the police department on that area don't do nothing I was assault many times beat up dead treats no matter what I try to get help I was ignore and beat up again . All homeless shelters each building inside are not what they seem they are people who work there and received money don't really give shit about homeless they used the money for themselves I seen it and lived there for 4 yrs and discussed me how homeless shelters are control of the money they received they also racist cause I never got help tours housing ..The black homeless people there are highest in control not the other races you can't touch them at all . I left with fear and dramatized I still homeless but don't go to area skid where it's living hell . I wish there a real Law that there no homeless aloud out the streets . To build more homeless shelters n homeless programs in all the empty buildings around it and all LA California ..Order military US to protect the streets . And if necessary build the largest federal prison facility that will remove all who refused to get out the streets and cause of trouble ..to society . To be safe n keep safe must do what it needs to be done in the eyes of GOD 🙏 PRAY N HAVE FAITH . Every problem has solution cause nothing is impossible for GOD ..AMEN
