As a vet of this game, some advice: 1. Do not care about your K/D. This game isn't about kill streaks. It's about controlling areas of the map. You might die 20 times trying to assault a point or holding out on defense, but if you complete your objective, then it is completely worth it and you did great to contribute to your team. 1b. Except for the HQs, your team is reliant on creating your own spawn points. Creating garrisons and your own squad's outpost is the key to victory because spawn points let you have a body count presence in an area of the map. 2. Ignore that the game tells you to start with only playing Rifleman. It's basically tied with Medic as the worst class. Focus on playing as Support and drop supply boxes where your officer needs them to build garrisons and where your engineer may need them for building defenses, nodes, etc. 3. In Warfare mode, defense of your own point should always be prioritized over assaulting the enemy point (except for assault mode where one team is always on attack and one on defense) 4. You move very slow and more realistically than other shooters. Slow and steady usually will serve you better than running around without your weapon ready to shoot. 4. Constantly be checking the map when you're able to assess where where friendlies are, where enemies likely are, and look for any callouts for things like tanks or enemy garrison marker that you can see the commander and your officer place down. 5. There are some great tutorial videos made by some youtubers that explain game mechanics in more detail so you won't have as many uncertainties. You'll learn a lot of great tips and things you'd never know by just playing the game like for example: there is a complete website (hell-let-loose-calculator.com) you can use that helps you calculate artillery ranges for every map and every emplaced gun location.
Play Support is something i dont understand. I cant evan imagine how i can know where to put down the box. How u will know where anyone need the box? Only way is if it shows me the spot on map
@@serbe3416 That's why it's important to communicate in this game. No one can do everything themselves, not even the commander. Talk with your squad lead (officer) and ask him where he wants it placed. Or if he's not responding, ask your engineer if they've built all their nodes or if they could use another supply box to make another one. Or, if you have an antitank squad member, maybe they could use the supplies to build an AT gun (It costs 50 supplies so just one personal box is needed). If all of these are not options, first off, I'm sorry because your squad is not cooperating or communicating well, but second, go place the supplies where you, personally think a good spot would be for a garrison and hopefully commander or another officer will see them there and go build a garry using them. Prioritize making friendly (blue zone) defensive garrisons before attack garrisons. There are some great tutorials videos out there that will teach you how to think like an commander or officer and spur you to always be thinking about where your team could put their next garrison.
@@serbe3416 If you learn how and where are good places to put garrisons then you can turn that knowledge around and predict where the enemy has placed their garrisons in order to hunt them down. Once you're doing that, now you're really getting into high level play in this game. At high levels in servers with good players, you may actually want to place your garrisons in non optimal locations so that it's not so easy for the enemy recon to find and kill them.
-Generally speaking, movement attracts lots of attention in this game. Leaning behind cover to get a look at your surroundings is crucial. -Holding down shift while aiming down the sights pauses your breath and allows you to zoom in slightly for careful shots for a brief amount of time. -Tanks and Recon Vehicles will have optical sights with zoom, so they will have easier time spotting you from a distance when you don't even notice them. Squad Leaders, Company Commanders and Recon teams will also have binoculars. -For new players, stick to your squad leader for direction unless they say otherwise (like they are running around creating Garrisons for the team to spawn in, etc). Being close to SL and Medics cuts suppression from enemy fire. -At the end menu, click on personal stats at the bottom for the breakdown of your performance, including deaths and kills.
This reminds me of my first game ever - on "Omaha Beach". I didn't get jack! If you really want to enjoy this game, find decent people who communicate and you will have countless hours of ungorgettable encounter. I really love to get a glimpse on the game through your unspoiled eyes ❤ Also - if you have a decent squad, stick around them - communicate with your squad - take a peek at the map regularly (every 10 - 20 seconds) - learn, how the weapons sound so you can tell friend from foe - and, though it might seem counterintuitive at first: kills aren't everything! You can cause mayhem (destroying outposts and garrisons) without firing a single shot. - ask experienced people for advice, ask questions - decent people of the community will definitely help you - stick with the game, don't get discouraged, it takes a while to get used to it Enjoy!
The biggest let down right now is the servers are full of people that do not communicate in their coms!!! The game is built on this and staying together with your squad not all this solo mission runs etc. This game is an insane blast with a squad when you work together and just play. The tutorial is great but honestly I wish they would take it away because how you used to learn how to play this game was with your squad mates and squad mates would all teach you how to play whatever role you want to learn.
Welcome to hell... let loose! Don't forget to talk on squad or prox comms, best part of the game by far. If you don't know where an enemy is ask for a compass bearing and someone will give you a general direction! Try to stick with your squad, ask you squad lead to place down an OP/Outpost and you can spawn closer to the front! You know a player is playing Squad lead (Officer) by the shield like symbol (two lines on the top, then three downwards facing chevrons.)
Good for you for finding this wonderful game. Super painful to watch for an experienced player but no judgement, it is not easy for new players. While there are many useful bits of advice posted here I'll limit my feedback to two points. A) Finding a good squad that communicates is huge. This happens far more often on community run servers. Avoid the official servers like the plague. Once you find a solid squad you will begin getting good advice and direction and will rapidly improve. B) The fact that you are looking to get kills rather than playing the objectives is actually hurting rather than helping your ability to kill the enemy and stay alive. Once you begin to understand what everyone is doing and why they are doing it you will also begin to understand where the enemy is, what areas will be dangerous and what areas you can expect to move freely through. This is a game of hide and seek. Everyone is camping. The thing that motivates people to move out of cover are the objectives. Learn those objectives, play to capture points rather than kill the enemy and you will quickly find you are doing both.
Thanks man I appreciate the tips! Yea this video was painful to watch I’m sure but definitely the point of my first ever experience, thanks for the no judgement! Haha, I’ve been playing quite a bit and getting quite a bit better of an understanding of the game and watching tips video! I love the game so far!
"I'm just going to throw a grenaded in that direction." I knew what was gonna happen there :p Also, stick to the rifleman role in the beginning! It's a good way to learn the game without having the pressure of additional tasks. finally, DEFEND!
Didn't see you do this: Shift is steady aim / zoom in (makes it easier to spot people) Use your map a lot and talk to your squad, it makes the game 100x better (and easier). Your map will tell you where friendlies are and which way they're facing; it's probably the most important tool you have. You spend a lot of time in the open in the middle of open fields. Try only stopping and aiming from behind cover.
I tried this the other day as a medic, and it was crazy. I had half a dozen people yelling at me at the same time. I lasted 5 minutes before I got frustrated and rage quit and for some weird reason I want try it again.
Yeah my first week was so bad I deleted the game just to watch more tutorials and reinstall the next day now on my 2nd week I'm level 30 and having a wayyyy better experience game is pretty fun death is just inevitable pretty much 😂🤷🏾♂️
yeah mate, you have to be careful hanging around tanks, its the same as in squad standing behind someone firing a RPG. tanks are like lions better off admiring from a safe distance lmao. @@DIGITALSANDBOX
I would change to a server that is using comms, especially any server that is ran by a unit for the game, they typically require comms. As a beginner you should have the UI to max. In general, focus on pushing the next point with your squad, the enemy will be around those spots.
Yeah and it helps to imagine it is a real battle, not a shooter! For example when you hear bullets flying it is good idea to jump behind a cover or at least get on the ground. Not stop in the middle of the field standing and looking around for an enemy. It i usually too late for that. I guess that is why you got killed so much. :) But I remember having same experience at the start. But it is worth sticking with it!
i just bought console xbox series S and it is my first console of my life and installed this bad boy like this is my first game i raged quit it because i was getting shot from everywhere and no kills plus i was playing on console first time with controller than i again push myself to play this like i was feeling something is really fun about this game the vibe and now i am literally enjoying it like no other game on my console😹😹i am level 45 now and almost get atleast 40 kills on average per match
the time at 6:50 is really funny cus you horribly miss the guy, he runs around and kills your mate, you can see it on the left side, then you go through to where he was and shoot the grass like hes 100% in here somewhere 😂 funny but understandable, yeah this game has a relatively chaotic introduction but once you get it you can predict stuff, worth watching some tips and tricks video to actually understand whats going on, there is a lot more than you think to the games mechanics
Starling grad. That map is brutal. I had omaha on my first go. That was different. And im dead every 30 secs on this. And nobody knows were they are you just shoot shit.
Always stick to Cover. Open fields are death unless you’re smoking it, always use the human shield concept and stick with guys and let them peek first especially if ur new and don’t know the maps. limit running. get to where you gotta go and avoid running in straight lines. Pretend it’s real life and people are trying to kill you 😂 It gets better bro I promise. But even when you think you finally got it you can easily have a round with 1 kill. It happens
Typical first experience in HLL. Slow down, look before you move, plan your movement from one place of cover and or concealment to another and most of all never charge straight to an objective via the most logical path. Attempt to flank the objective from a not so obvious direction.
Watching a new player is so frustrating! 😂 why are you standing in the open?! Why aren't you in defilade?! Haha Also, please turn player icons on again
Hahaha welcome to Hell all that’s missing is Gordon Ramsay. Bro you need to slow down look everywhere stop running across open ground like that ya madman. Guns ready always. And use ya Mike
Your biggest issue at the start was you weren't using comms, it's literally the biggest thing in the game, if you want the full experience, run with your squad (green Berry's) and all have Comms, that's how you can win or lose a game here, trust me, as a squad of 4 we've completely turned a game around multiple times
Level 129, over 630 hours since Early Access.. Welcome to the PTSD Generator that is HLL. Shoot in the general direction of everyone else/smoke.. but stay away from other blueberries.. Work with your squad (the green guys). Dont stand in the open/move too much, use cover/bushes.. Shoot a whole mag.. MOVE and re-load AS YOU RUN.. Do NOT shoot more than one mag from the same place or die.. DIE.... Do it all again.. Put your tags back on until you are REALLY GOOD.. Watch the garrisons and holding the circles/defence is the way to win.. DONT RUN ACROSS OPEN FIELDS!!! Or across piles of de@d b0dies.. they are de@d for a reason.. 12:25 YOU DESTROYED AN ENEMY OUTPOST!! EXTRA POINTS!! 14:55 "Ghost of the Woods" runs across an open field (not down the sides with cover) and d!es... baahaa 18:55 "PERSONAL STATS" bottom left hand side of totals screen.. Click the star next to someone's name on the totals screen to commend them (10% bonus) and DONT PUNISH!! Hi, liked and subscribed from Adelaide, South Australia!
